Welcome to the brand new EA WRC Car List thread, updated to include DLC and all liveries. DLC will be highlighted in bold and red text.

Some notes:
  • Some cars have fictional liveries, they will be marked as such.
  • Others have Official liveries, or approximations of, with no number or driver, these will be named as such.
  • All research on the liveries is my own, I do not claim to be an expert, nor is this list exhaustive.

I have updated the first post with the liveries for each car except the WRC2 cars.

This is to the best of my knowledge and research. If you see anything you think is incorrect, please let me know.

Great list, the only one I can spot is the Evo 6 because I remember being disappointed it wasn't a Makinen car on Dirt 4:

#2 F.Loix/S.Smeets. 2000 Mitsubishi Ralliart WRT
I think this one is Katsuhiko Taguchi's car from 2002, used in Rally Hokkaido since it has Yokohama tyres:

Updated the Peugeot 206 #1 livery. I was so focussed on researching the cars that I totally neglected the fact that the drivers name was on this one. So it isn’t the 2001 Gronholm car, it is in fact the 2002 Richard Burns one.

Also corrected the year of Esapekka Lappis M-Sport Fiesta, he drove for them in 2020 not 2019. Although curiously the car sports the 2021 livery.

@Touring Mars @Famine Could the car list and stage list be stickied/pinned to the top of this forum please?

But it would be nice easter egg for old Gran Turismo fans :P
Gran Turismo is part of the problem. If they hadn't signed the exclusive deal with PPIHC Codemasters probably would've kept hillclimb and Pikes Peak in for Dirt Rally 2. I doubt they would have found a way to shoehorn it into a WRC game in any case, the same reason WRX isn't in the game even though both championships have the same promoter.

Strange they have the 306 '98 livery while car has specs and bodywork from '96 🤔

Yeah I mean this is where it gets confusing and my lack of intimate model knowledge could be getting in the way.

The livery does match the 1996 car more than the 1998, the straighter lines and less red show that. I just couldn’t find any example of Gilles Panizzi driving a #3 306 in 1996.

I’ll change it to 1996 though as the livery is a better match on closer inspection. If anyone can find a picture of Panizzi driving the 1996 car with a #3 then that would help ease my mind.

Ewrc-results is great for looking up things like that, they were struggling a couple of years ago so you need a paid membership for some of the search tools (chassis number and numberplates) but you can still search by driver on the free version. There are a few #3 Panizzi cars from ERC rounds in 1996:

I like their sister site ewrc-models too because you can search by car to get a match from the photo and each model has a link to the ewrc-results page for the event it ran.

Will check my Peugeot Bible this evening 🤣

Panizzi ran number 3 in '97. Pic from rallye du Var. Doesn't have the same livery though. In '96 I have number 1 but livery is off too. Maybe late '95 model then 🤔

Here are the 3 drivers with the most liveries available in the game:

1. Colin McRae x9
2. Dani Sordo x4
3. Petter Solberg x3

And Co-driver appearances:
1. Derek Ringer x8
2. Nicky Grist x3
3. Marc Marti/Chris Patterson/Janne Ferm/Ilka Minor/Robert Reid x2

No surprise that the driver who gave his name to the Codemasters games for so long has the most liveries in the game. Plus both his long term co-drivers make the most co-driver appearances (albeit not always alongside McRae).

Also updated Dani Sordo’s co-drivers, I had incorrectly listed Candido Carrera as his co-driver on all 4 of his cars. In 2005 and 2006 (C2 and Xsara) it was Marc Marti and in the Mini Countryman 2011 it was Carlos del Barrio.

Late getting the game, but just a couple notes:

The alternate livery for the Stratos is from 1976-77, albeit with the title sponsor Alitalia removed. (1974 was Marlboro)

The Alpine Renault is from the 1973 season, although it is somewhat of a generic livery with many of the details removed.

Massive update to the car list today, a dull but somewhat rewarding job.

  • I have reorganised it slightly, to match the order of the classes as they appear in the game menus.
  • I have added all drivers/co-drivers and teams for the official classes.
  • I have added the 2024 Expansion content. Red marks everything that is new.
  • I have researched every livery outside of the official classes in an attempt to better match the in game livery to it's real life counterpart. This has taken me more time than I care to admit! Some of them are quite straight forward, the more modern era of WRC, drivers tended to keep the same number for the season, so it is much easier to track down, likewise with one off appearances like Valentino Rossi at Rally GB 2002, undisputable.

However, in pre-world rally car eras, driver numbers varied rally to rally, seemingly based on the entry list, or round to round championship positions, or something along those lines, basically meaning that drivers didn't always have the same number. So to match the livery required hunting through entry lists to match the car, number and driver as best I can.

For example, in 1993 for the Astra Racing Lancia Delta, Tommi Makinen competed 3 times, with 3 different numbers, #9 in Sweden, #18 at the Acropolis and #13 (the in game livery) in Finland.

So I have hunted throughout the car list, and hope that what is now presented above is as accurate as I can possibly be.

There are a few odd exceptions worth pointing out;
The black and white Lancia Stratos doesn't have a number, my research led me to believe Michele Mouton drove on at Monte Carlo in 1978, but pictures are hard to come by.
Opel Manta #400 is an official livery but no driver/team combo appears to have ever raced under the numnber.
The #33 Megane can only be Martin Rowe and Derek Ringer due to the livery showing "1998 British Rally Champions" so it isn't the 1998 car and they ran a different number, but of course in 1999 they used #1.

Thank you, and enjoy.
