All I want them to do is fix the AI glitch and improve performance a bit. I think the first one especially is a really big one because it's making the career really difficult to get into. You can maybe do three or four stages sometimes before the AI just rolls over and dies on you. It's the equivalent of all the other cars pulling into the pits every lap after half distance in one of the F1 games - there would be total outcry.

I think they've said there won't be any DLC car additions? I'd love Australia and Rally GB to be added too, but we'll see. I know the Central European Rally is coming quite soon but I do miss those, because they're iconic and tied up in the kind of WRC nostalgia that this game evokes. With Australia, Wales and Scotland all there in DR2.0 I'd happily take them to just be ported across to this game without any massive reworking. If I'm using a car like the Impreza that's in both games I can just go back to DR2.0 to play those events and its pretty seamless, but I want to drive the Maxi Megane in the Scottish forests and pretend I'm Martin Rowe circa 1998.

Would be nice if they could bring over some stages of DR2.0. As for the liveries, I find it a shame we simply can't get the original stuff. You can access pornography on every single corner of the internet, you can kill people in wargames but a bloody alcool or cigarette livery from the 70, 80 and 90 isn't allowed. I don't see any harm at all in representing an era of motorsport the way it was back then ✌️
It is absolutely ridiculous isn't it. It's like wiping out history, utterly stupid.

You may not see any harm in it but the age ratings boards do! I agree that it's crazy but you can't really blame the devs for that.

The thing is, everyday is an advert for brands, whether it's on TV, media or just walking round any sort of shop so why they're not allowed in a game is frankly ludicrous, but it's all about money.
I mean if you watch a car insurance advert they blank out any branding on the cars, can't do that on the street

Real-world anlcohol and tobacco advertisement is banned/illegal in many countries, particularly in videogames.

Removing such logos is a safer alternative to preventing the game being sold at all.
Yes i understand that with tobacco/alcohol, but when sponsor logos have already been licensed to use on a car in-game, why are they not allowed to be used for custom liveries in the editor.
Is it the attachment to a particular car/team livery combination? For example not being allowed to place a Pirelli logo where a Michelin should be, or putting a Ford logo on a Skoda etc

Because each company will have their own regulations you need to abide by when licensing their logo for use in a game. A title I previously worked on licensed some very expensive music from a movie to be used in the game but we could only use it in a particular portion of the gameplay, couldn't use it as anything except background music, couldn't use it in trailers, couldn't play it over dialogue etc.

There's a reason games often have licensing info on the boot screens, and it's not because the devs wanted them to be there.

AI glitch is the biggest one.

I’m pretty certain we won’t see the DE2.0 locations as everything had to be built from the ground up for the new engine location wise. So I highly doubt it will happen. That’s not to say we won’t ever see those countries again but just not ported from DR2.0. And outside of current locations coming off the official calendar, I doubt we’ll see non WRC rounds get added in the future. Including CER we’ll have potentially 6 new rallies over the next couple of seasons so plenty coming in that respect.

I know they’ve said there won’t be any paid DLC, I’m not sure if cars have been completely ruled out or not but I know the emphasis was on paid DLC. That’s not to say we will definitely get any at all but you never know. With the Rally2 Yaris debuting Japan and competing from Monte in January, it could be a possibility to be added, likewise the freshly homologated rally3 Clio. But they could equally be help back for a full 2024 update with the new rallies.

I wonder how games such as GT and Forza get round these issues as there's loads of user created authentic liveries available to download and use online and official sponsor logos in the livery editors.
Is it just a question of money? I'm not stamping my feet here, if it's not there to use then it's not there, just curious

I know! It's not a slant on CM, it's just annoying is all. We all think of the Martini Lancias etc or the 555 Imprezza's. It's not new advertising, it's just getting the period details correct. I know it will never change. Just annoying as hell, eg when you go to the Festival of Speed the period liveries on the cars haven't been scrubbed off !

If there are any real world logos provided by these livery editors then the studios will have negotiated the licenses with the companies responsible to ensure they can be used in the editor. Aside from that Forza provides users with shapes to make liveries so the responsibility is on the user to not reproduce copyrighted material with those shapes. The same applies to Gran Turismo with the uploader; they provide the user with a warning not to upload content that would break the law. If they choose to do so then that's on them.

In reality no company is going to go after an individual for breaking copyright laws if they're just making virtual race cars and not using the logo for profit. A game studio who is going to be selling their product and making a profit from doing so is a whole different situation.

We are not talking about avertissement but simply replicating historic motorsport. Seen they are classic cars anyone would understand it is linked to the period from the car/era of motorsport and it has nothing to do with openly advertising for those companies (opinions differ).

I know it has nothing to do with you guys but the régulations are just plain stupid. A 12 year old is allowed to see 80ies and 90ies movies (American Pie or Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Le Mans) where smoking and drinking isn't 'tabou' and suddenly in videogames rating systems get all worked up if an non allowed logo is shown.

I can write CAWEL with the same font and layout as CAMEL. Then a livery editor allows to replicate and share liveries that have 'alcohool, tabacco and nudity'.

It all doesn't make sense. Smells like a hypocrite, moneymaking machine 💩 and I don't like it.

It’s basically money + how hard you want to push for it in negotiations.

I'm looking forward to the addition of the Central European Rally. It will be interesting to see how the stages are set up in regards to corner cutting and those Red anti cut devices. In the IRL event some drivers said there was way too much corner cutting and there weren't enough Anti Cut devices in use.

Also, I wonder if Elfyn's big red shed will make an appearance too 😄

Rumour has it CER might be alongside the December patch.

So soon? Nice, Lets hope the rumours are true. I know that people got to try it at the actual CER a month or so ago so It can't be too far off I guess.
Nothing confirmed but our very own PJ dropped a nugget in the Discord server.

No mate that is tabacco and alcohol liveries confirmed 🤣

Joking aside that would be excellent for Christmas 🤟

I think my only issue with the alcohol and tobacco free liveries is they aren’t very good, and I don’t mean that offensively towards the art guys at Codies, as liveries they’re perfectly good, but as alternatives to what they are replacing they miss the mark. I look at F1 2020 with the classic Ferraris, Williams, Benetton etc and their tobacco free liveries are spot on just with the alternate things like the white blocks on the Marlboro and Rothmans cars, blank space on the Benetton etc.

Makes me wonder why F1 games can get closer to the tobacco free liveries than WRC can.

I think I've finally clicked with tarmac (PS5 - Dualsense). As others have posted here, reducing read diff locking under braking and softening the rear sway bar helps massively. I am now able to find the limit of grip more consistently.

I struggled initially with the lack of FFB but if anything, the harder you push the more confidence you get because you get more feedback from the tyres. The recent updates mean the game runs pretty close to perfectly for me to.

Loving it!

Not sure how it'll work out AND if there is interest but ....

Nothing serious for the moment. Will put up a test stage somewhere this week. Dedicated to tarmac and the Stratos

I have driven very little of the historic classes. O37 Acropolis and Renault 5 Turbo Monte Moments being pretty much as much that I've tried. So I would like to try some more of the classic stuff.

Sounds fun. Hopefully theres enough interest to allow the club to go-ahead👍

Edit - Funnily enough there's a nice A110 Alpine at Monte Moment available

Alcohol and tobacco logos should be allowed on the cars for historical reasons. They aren't there for the purpose of advertising, it's for the purpose of education and digital preservation. Surely that's enough of a reason to allow it.

Appreciated 🍻

It’s funny how people read into my posts sometimes.

One time before we announced WRC (around June I think), I stayed silent in Discord for an entire day, and a dozen people were convinced that that day was the day we’d announce the game 😅

To be fair, this one could be considered teasing 😜. But yeah it is funny, that’s why you do it right? 😁
