Here's an AI difficulty discussion thread on EA Answers:
I play five stage rallies in career and the AI seems to drop by around two mins from stage two onwards whether I quit or not.

It hasn't bugged so far going off that theory for me. And I've put a fair few hours in over the weekend, I kind of figured that one myself during the week, but thought it was by chance. But sure has worked last few days

I've done 3, 6 stage rallies over the weekend and consistently been around 20-30 seconds off the leader. Around 7 seconds per split. I'm on ps5 by the way

I’m just doing quick play - solo - create championship and I haven’t had the AI bug (that I’ve noticed) doing events that way. Or maybe I’m just so crap I haven’t noticed. Either or. I’m still finding Monte Carlo a bit jarring because as you get further through the long stages performance is still pretty migraine inducing but everywhere else it seems just fine. I think it’s at the point where I’m gonna admit it’s a step up from DR2.0, maybe, possibly, with a following wind.

WRC Generations just got deleted again any rate.

I made sure to quit and restart at each stage of my 5 stage career rally while checking the difficulty level before and after to make sure it didn't change. This didn't stop the AI being at least 2 mins slower on stage four though. It definitely seems to be bugged for a lot of people.

Yeah, it must bug in the backend of the game, it always shows 100 for me. I wonder if restarting career will help me get around it. Perhaps because I didn’t start my career on 100 it has caused issues? Who knows.

I always notice that the first stage of an event tends to be really tough - losing a minute maybe in that first run, then for the rest of the rally being able to compete for top three times. I don’t know if that’s the bug though or just a quirk of the game, I suspect the latter because sometimes I’ll pick up pace on the AI even in the middle of SS1 - having been languishing in like 20th will start popping in green sectors - and they never just roll over and drop 2-3 minutes off the pace.

Again though, possibly that’s because I’m not driving fast enough to make 3 minutes up on them!! Having been out of rally game action for quite some time, that’s always a possibility but I’d like to hope not.

I haven't tested very extensively but the first time the AI worked for me was in quick mode on a 5 stage rally in one go. Maybe just lucky...

Do let us know how it goes. I have read that it doesn't work.

:scared: that does not sound promising.
But I will let you know when it arrives.

The shifter is included in Electronic Arts list of supported controller devices.

Thought I’d have a go at creating some championship templates for custom championships in the game based on real seasons. Have fun and make some suggestions of your own.

Like liveries I wish these were shareable. Luckily, they're a lot easier to copy.

Some seasons tips would be handy unless it's just Rally GB = chilly Chile.

Yeah good suggestion with the seasons. I’ll see what I can do. I’ve added the seasons for the GB rallies and can update the others in due course. 👍🏻.

I’m using one on Xbox series x and it works perfectly, you have to make sure it’s in H pattern mode when starting the game up,then it works in H pattern and sequential mode no problem

But I will let you know when it arrives.

The shifter is included in Electronic Arts list of supported controller devices.
Should absolutely work when connected through the wheelbase, mine does on Xbox (or to be more specific, the boutique shifter my wheelbase thinks is the ClubSport).

I’ve not seen any reports of the shifter not working via USB on PC, but if you have a Fanatec base my advice is to go via wheelbase anyway as it’s one less cable to worry about.

As you're an h-pattern user as well PJ, do you know if we'll be getting the h-pattern/sequential shifting option from DR2 back at some point? Having to switch between the shifting systems in the menus is a bit of a pain!

I’m a sequential driver.

I know the setting has been discussed but don’t have word in if/when it will be added to the game.

My issue with the livery editor

The cars in-game that have official liveries on them obviously have the sponsor logos displayed ( other than tobacco or drinks ). So surely that means they've been licensed to use by Codies.
So why can't we have those logos to use in the livery editor, as long as they're just ones already in the game ( Ford, Audi, Michelin, Pirelli, Bilstein, Cibie, Shell, etc etc )
If they're rendered in game, we ought to have access to use, if they're not there then we can't, or make them ourselves.

Hi PJ. I am using a Moza handbrake with a Fanatec Podium wheel hub. Currently it is connected directly to the PC. I notice your comment regarding using a “boutique“ handbrake plugged into the Fanatec wheelbase. Should I be able to do the same with the Moza handbrake? I tried this once, but without success. If so, should I use the Moza or the Fanatec lead?
Your help would be much appreciated.

I’m using the Oktane Designs SEQ v2

He makes a Fanatec version with the RJ12 connector instead of USB, so it just plugs into the base and works.

There's a Logo Replacer Mod available on Race Department. Sadly it's pretty much useless because as it is now, It seems Codies and/or EA don't want any modification of files whatsoever and it could lead to a ban. There was a really healthy community on Race Department of very talented people making great liveries for DiRT Rally and DR2.

All of these created and posted on Race Department by User @amrato99 (He has over 200 more aswell)

Sadly it seems there will be little chance of that coming back in WRC. Which when you think about it is a huge shame given that most of the cars have one base livery and thats that.

The only safe way to use the Logo Replacer mod would be to play offline but ofcourse, That defeats the point.

And as I'm on series X i can't even do that

Appologies, Silly of me to forget that possibility. 👍

It's a shame the livery editor isn't up to the standard of Forza, Or even just to a level where creating real life logos to a decent standard is possible. Not to mention something as simple as mirroring.

I love the game but the shortage of liveries and some much needed missing locations (Wales, Australia, Germany) are my only wants and additions so to speak.

Hopefully the VIP passes will start to populate and fill up the livery slots over time I guess.

Would be nice if they could bring over some stages of DR2.0. As for the liveries, I find it a shame we simply can't get the original stuff. You can access pornography on every single corner of the internet, you can kill people in wargames but a bloody alcool or cigarette livery from the 70, 80 and 90 isn't allowed. I don't see any harm at all in representing an era of motorsport the way it was back then ✌️
