Yeah, that's a Audi Sport quattro S1. Best looking of all of them in my eyes...

...but it did start with the Group 4 UR quattro and that is the Audi I respect the most.

Definitely would be cool to see but, if they did, where would you want it? The original Group 4 car hasn't got a class to fit into at all and an A1 or A2 would be outclassed by everything else in the Group B 4WD category. Still, that said, some of the cars in other classes aren't competitive, but they are still fun to drive.
As long as they implanted car filtering and multi class at last then it could go in with the Stratos and Renault 5, whatever that class is, Opel Manta etc.

I would like to see one of Mäkinen's first Evos and especially any Celica, but knowing the relationships between EA/Codemasters and Toyota I find it difficult to happen.

In a more fun way, this little thing added to the game it would be awesome.

No update to career mode is a huge letdown, it needs a refresh in several elements. 2 rallies and new liveries after 1 one year is really the bare minimum, probably they reduced staffing so much we won’t get any major update.

We'll find out in the next few weeks what else is lined up for the expansion update. Only the content has been announced so far.

That's a shame, Sorry to hear that. It would have been nice if you could have got it sorted in Time for DLC and updates to come in October. Or maybe there may be some fixes in there there could possibly help. Let's hope. 🤞
Oh my, I think I've fixed it!! I kept reading about the game needing to be on the same drive/partition as Steam (maybe so it's in the same place as the anti-cheat install?), which I didn't think would work for me as I only have a small 256gb SSD as my C: drive for windows and have larger drives for game installs. With a bit of messing about this morning I managed to clear enough space to move the game over to my C: drive and, touch wood, everything seems to be ok now!

I've been able to start the game a couple of times in VR without it crashing my VR software and I'm able to use custom liveries again. Very happy and I can't wait for the DLC now 🔥

Thats great, Glad to hear you've sorted it. If you want something to help pass the time before the DLC there's a short GTP S2000 club championship going on that ends just before the '24 update. 👍

There is indeed and I'm currently sitting in first place in Greece 😉

I don't think I've ever needed to use the clutch as much in a car with sequential gears before! Those hairpins are murderous.

Yeah the S2000's are weird. I find they bog down in low speed corners and hairpins. I cant fling and powerslide them around like any of the other 4WD cars. I'm on DS4 controller so I find myself rapidly tapping the handbrake to keep the revs up so I can sort of get around tight hairpins with a bit of decency. I'll be doing my Greece run tomorrow.

I'm a bit disappointed there is zero mention of any performance or graphics updates?
I hadn't played it for months and had an update sitting there and was so disappointed the screen tearing was still present, Rally Italia Sardegna was really bad. Even reinstalled WRC Generations off the back of it, feels way more next gen than this. 😞

Hardly notice any stuttering any more. I went back to Generations the other day to do some trophy hunting and couldn't do it, looked horrendous in comparison.

I thought all the Performance and Screen Tearing issues were sorted?
Not on the SX. Some stages can be fine but it's still there on others, like distractingly bad for a section of the stage. I opted for the SX over the S to hopefully avoid this type of thing. 🙁

Decent, but I think the additional cameo drivers/liveries should have been included for Rally 1, so Martins Sesks and Jourdan Serderidis in the Puma and Sami Pajari in the Yaris.
Would be cool to see them get added. I think there's a bit more to it than just making a new livery so given the timing of their respective outings (Latvia and Finland), likely only just missed the cut. Sesks Poland entry would also require a new car to be added in the hybrid free Puma Rally1.

Serderidis I'm not sure on, haven't even kept track of what rallies he's done this season tbh.

Given how simple (one would think) It would be to create the Non-Hybrid Puma I am surprised it wasn't included. Then again I wouldn't be surprised If licensing is the issue and not that chopping off the Hybrid intakes and adding the fan extractor blank at the rear was too much work for Codies. It seems the FIA/WRC promoter seem deadset on keeping the hybrid no matter what so maybe Hybridless R1 machines are something they don't want to overly propagate.

I imagine there will be alterations to the physics as well that would need to be tested thoroughly, the cars dynamics may be altered, sound potentially?

PJ did say on the Discord as well that the cut off for content (for the expansion launch at least) was around Croatia/Kenya. So very early in the season and well before Sesks drove any variation of Puma.

So it may not be a complete write off yet, as Mikkelsen was added to the 2023 roster post launch.

I thought there was ballast put in place of the Hybrid unit so there shouldn't be that much different in terms of weight Etc. I guess there would be a change in sound although the aggressive anti-lag (especially on the Puma) is so loud I doubt it's possible to hear anything Hybrid related anyway.

I just think it's a shame Sesks didn't get the full R1 Puma for Chile. Seems like it will be a big disadvantage at the altitude and thin air of Chile with just a 1.6l Turbo and no Hybrid.

Not an “official” cutoff, just an assumed one based on the base game and 2023 season 🙂 There were a few mid-season driver changes in ‘23 (mostly WRC2) that didn’t make it.

But yes, early season drivers usually more likely to appear. Doesn’t mean other things can’t come post launch, but no promises of course.

Also, it’s more than simply liveries and some UI, there’s all sorts of stuff that goes into adding a “new driver” that you (and I) wouldn’t even think of at first glance. AI drivers are fine tuned to have performance variances per location similar to real life for example (like Ogier being mighty at Monte, Ott on fast rallies etc.).
