Elegance Automotive Guild - Remembering TurnLeft.

I haven't taken the Merc to the Nurburgring yet, don't think my insurance policy will cover the repair bill when I crash.
But on our way I stopped off at Brands to run the A spec seasonal, easy win first time out. Couldn't quite manage to match the C1 and win on CH's but I'm still getting used to her.
Another fantastic tune, well done guys

The same goes for Beer too!!! 👍

You really didn't take much time to get going 👍, don't worry about insurance claims, send them to us, we have a system for that, we send @Brewguy44 with all the claims and he somehow manages to get them to pay us instead , might be the special brew he makes them drink . I'll update the new trophy room tomorrow, but after this post I'll answer a few alerts then I'm going to take the car to the Nurb for an official spin.

I'm very honored my friends. I'm very happy for the new gem and for having the chance to meet such a nice people like all of you. :)

Thank you!
The real honor is to have all of you participate so actively, we are really blessed to have so many good people who want to join in . Thanks dan, you noticed it was a premium .

@ALB123 , @lilcat89 , @RMan72 & @danbojte
All your exploits have been added to the Corvettes trophy room, thank you so much for making this something special.

What was the clue, the song?:lol::lol:
I'm sure I just heard this on TV :odd:

Hmmmm, interesting.
You weren't just watching the F1 from Spain were you?

This little conversation. It wasn't a flat out denial & that just ramps up my suspicion.
I narrowed it down to the 300SL or the BMW 507 and leant towards the beauty you have bestowed upon us. Also, the sneak peak pics just confirmed it for me. No other car has those classic lines.

Ok. It looks like I'm the first chump...err...person to post a Nordschleife lap time. Well, my time was:

8:54.784

I definitely can improve that once I get a handle on this car. I will post a more detailed review of the car in time. I've literally only done one lap in the car and I was focused more on not DQ'ing my lap than I was on analyzing the car. One thing I can say is, the car has a very nice suspension system. It takes the bumps of the 'Ring without much fuss. That's impressive! 👍

We have a Win at The Beginner Level Classic Sports Car Race. 👍

Let the Trophy Winning Begin!!! 👍 :D

As have I. I think it might also be quicker than the C1. Also won the National A classic sports car race at Rome. I also tried it at the international B Classic supercar festival at Nurburgring GP strecke. I finished 5th in that race. The car is so good. I love it so much guys. Haven't even tried it with ABS yet. The sports cars of the 50s are my favorites. The lines and designs are so clean and flowing. Nothing that isn't needed.

Thanks Rman :) Glad you're enjoying the car. Stick with it, she can do it 👍

Wow! A... A... Umm... A... Wow! A...

It is entirely our honour, as TL says a bit further down :bowdown:To have you and so many others to join in the fun and make this a truly awesome project to be part of, really is appreciated. I still can't believe it, almost 260 posts in here and there's only just now 2 cars in the garage  I really hope you like your new car my friend :D

Car is now built but i haven't driven it yet. I'm going to give it a good test later tonight.
I will post an update over the next couple of days
I look forward to it 👍 Hope it's to your liking:cheers:

See, told you he said it further down :P

I've been waiting for this and, as @ThorinCain will tell you, I guessed it right at the last minute. It's been well worth the wait.
Yup, he did 👍 I had a good chuckle when I saw that notification  Glad it was worth the wait :D

Yeah, sorry about the mystery. I'm so happy you were a damn good sport about it though :) it almost felt like we were torturing you a little there for a moment

Nice time @ALB123 👍 Most of the work was done in Stuttgart we just tightened some bolts 'n' stuff  Thanks for your contribution to this one too:bowdown: I'm so happy you answered TL's call. You have been a great addition to the team 👍 And I look forward to your analysis, I'm sure it'll be a great read

My time at The Ring is 8:55.912 👍

I left some time out there on the track, I'll get better.
That put's you in second for now 👍 Nice one Brew  (BTW Really rubbish beer :yuck:)

Thanks @lilcat89 I'm glad you like it and congratulations on your wins:tup:. The 50s cars are special, there are so many that never made this game that I'd love to have seen.

Waaa, The 300SL finally came out  Will build it when I play next time :D
You mean, you knew it was coming!? Shhhh! Pete'd been trying to guess for ages  Yes, it's finally here :D and I found some nice details about that old ZF LSD too 👍 Thanks for the help on that BTW

I really hope you enjoy your drive and I'd love to hear your opinion on it. Your feedback is at a level all of it's own and your opinion is always highly regarded here at the EAG

Thanks for stopping by. We really appreciate it

I had a whole heap of fun with you guys trying to guess what was due for release.
I'll happily admit just over 24hrs ago I was thinking it might be another car from the US of A. I must've go that humming wrong :lol:Then I saw the map of Europe and really put my brain in gear.
As mentioned previously, it all fell into place rather quickly following a few clues.
Now all I have to do is move on from 1.17 so I can build the gearbox.....

I almost fell about when @TurnLeft posted that satellite picture  And anyway the American anthem is....No I won't start that again :D The sheet music had me in stitches too, I had to give a good clue after that, it was just too cruel. I'm the same BTW was OK playing the stuff, could I he** read it:banghead:

The gearbox may be possible with the stock final gear too but I'm not near my PS3 to check, another click or 2 up the top speed slider may bring the ratios in range. Then again...

Finally made it to the Nurburgring, after a few offs cutting grass was able to complete a lap with a time of 8:55.342, not sure how I can shave time off here but will try.
Quite like the 4 wheel drifting she does, very balanced car
I was just about to post the first GT score sheet when this alert came in , good thing I came to check, now I've added your time to it 👍. Last night I was racing @ALB123 & @Brewguy44 on line and I had a 3 second lead on them but they almost caught up to me at one point, so I'm figuring there must be a way to get 3 seconds faster. Need to find a way to go in those long straights at the fastest speed, I may be braking a bit late on those curves just before and losing valuable acceleration. We are so far a lot closer than at Sierra where you did some pretty good magic .

Here is the link to the 300SL GT Scoresheet. I'll update the trophy room a little later, I've got to go change those winter tires on our cars, I'm pretty sure it's not going to snow anymore.... I hope.:scared:

EAG Mercedes 300SL '54 GT Score

Just had to share this video I watched a few weeks ago. Rather timely I think but not advisable for those with a heart condition :scared:

http://www.motorsportretro.com/2015/01/flat-mercedes-benz-300sl/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Motorsport Retro Issue 196&utm_content=Motorsport Retro Issue 196+CID_6d87c383c2d39e48785702f24e7dcf89&utm_source=Email marketing software&utm_term=Continue

And that has to be my entry for the longest link address ever
If it was my car I would never drive it like that  or let someone else do that :scared:, these are cars are almost priceless and there are so few of them that taking a risk at scrapping part of our car heritage just would not make sense, also I'd just be too much of a chicken to drive on that that road like that .

After a cup of coffee got my time down to 8:52.736
Is that the secret, 1 cup of coffee, hmm, wonder if I drank the whole 12 cups :nervous: from the coffee maker . I had just done 8:53.189 on my second lap, so at least I'm still close to you but it's getting hard to find places to get better, there's just so many places you can win/lose time that getting them all right demands a whole lot of memory and concentration, two things that I struggle with . I'll wait a bit before updating both of our scores just in case someone throws another one in 👍.
