what a race, great racing but rubbish for me. some off you might be wondering why i went from podium to last, (And its not because im slow! lol) things were going well untill the first pit. me and logi pitted together, as we came out of pits, tyres had no grip. lol. when it started to get dark it was raining heavily. i thought if i pit now, i'll have advantage in rain. tyres lost me near 10 seconds a lap. then i had 0 tread left. priesty and karsten were trying to get past lol.
When it didnt rain, i had to pit again. THAT STUPID TYRE BUG! for some reason they were slower than the wets! just lost so much. To add insult to injury, it began raining at end! Dont worry, i have sacked my race engineer lol ;) At least i've learnt a lesson lol
congrats to gippile and scuderia fronzini :) great drive too skeng. roll on next week! :D

Can I join this series?

PSN: Am36925
Car: Lexus IS350
Team: AMRacing
colour: Italian Racing Red
my apologies i didn't understand madbean i tought he referred to hogn... >_>

i think we're just full but i expect 2-3 to miss races each week, also i think skeng said that he isn't sure he can race all times... if you want to hop in you're welcome, just add me to friends! I'm sure you'll be able to race all weeks with peoople's defections :)

Tire Bug is a concern,

Not really sure if it hits everybody or if it's just just random.

Pitted on lap 3 but it never gave me a choice if tire it just put me on IM although I wanted RS, from a test race I knew I could run RS from a certain % which we had gone past so I pitted the lap after in which it did allow me to chose any tire so I went RS (by this point it was 0% surface water anyway) but this was a nightmare, had very little grip.

Anyway got to 4th and was cruising really, but then realised I might not make it, decided to gamble which didn't pay off, lap 17 I was saving fuel, lap 18 I ran out. Lol ah well.

@SkengD

You wanna team up?

Ment to have a team mate but he hasn't joined any of the sessions, hasn't responded to messages so I'm gonna take it he's a no show.

I'm so bummed I missed the race!!!
Just so you know, I AM serious about the series and intend to stick around for the duration- I don't want to miss any but if something happens I'll give as much warning as I can, maybe someone else can sub for me?

Also, with all the tire bug issues, what strategy are you all using from here on? Is there a "better to run with these than risk those" compromise? Or just go for it and see what happens?
I once, on exiting pit at Nurburgring 24 and realizing immediately I had the "wrong tires"/no grip tires/pit crew pulled a prank on me tires, turned around and went back in-

Yeah that was what I was pointing at lol.

Race for me was a nightmare span here and there in the first lap.
Then maybe lap 3 had a sneeze come on, throught it ok as on the straight.
Wow I missed a whole turn and was still on the track.
With front wheel damage lol.

I really remember that track as a hacker track in GT5 and I've never liked it down to that reason.
There two tracks I not like that one and stage x well what ever it called.

Nürburgring 24h circuit on the list and not a track I like but I will do it.
Why don't I like it, well in 2007 I went there.
With 9 other bikers great ride there must say, but it's a track you pay and go round sort of thing.
I was shocked when I miss a tour bus going round.

Then later 2 well tuned scoobys where racing each other, one of them just knock my m8 off his bike.
His bike was a mess he was also in a bad way.
All they wanted was money for the damage on track, my m8 was in hospital.
Once again this looked painful in the money area.

Some how we walked away free from the ring and we rob our m8 in hospital out and got him on a plane home.
We was all shocked the guys in there scooby who knocked him of and ran me off track got away with it all.

My m8 who crashed and we rob from hospital died of cancer in 2008.
We helped him live a dream of going there and riding it as he was told in 2002 he had 3 years left down to Cancer.

Sorry to be a pain. couple of things. 1. preisty whats the car and colour i have to unlock. 2. i made a new PSN: Jimmyskills_x 4. any lap times for Silverstone, i expect to be off pace but wanna know how much off... 5. i need a wheel. that is all for now...

at silverstone the insane ekke run a 2.06.5

i can run on mid to low 2.08 with RS but it seems rx7 isn't that good at silverstone, so i guess it can't be helped.

if you can get around 2.07 you'll have a lot a fun and will avoid ekke to fall asleep while racing alone lol

Nice race, I feel like the RS i put on for lap 4 was not like the RS when i have practiced, had a hard time getting to first corner when exiting pit wheel spin all the way.

Hade some real terrible moments in the beginig, At lap 3 on the second straight i was slipping gippone and goes to the left to try and take inner and just touched the break and lost all control must have done a 900 degre spinn then in the wall. Then it was just start hunting.

Did get up close to them at lap 7 then i started to lose much time every lap. I think SkengD went in to pit then he must have done something at track, so he must have bean like 30sec after me as most. Then he started to get closer and closer last 6-7 laps. On the last lap i realy felt that he was hunting me. But i managed to not loose my second place :)

Gippone nice driving. But you need to slow down so i could win :)

Good driving guys had a very nice time.

Probably there gonna be some other drivers with 2.06 laps, pretty sure we will see high 2.05 by gippone or skengd

priesty_lfc: "...it never gave me a choice if tire it just put me on IM although I wanted RS"

I have experienced something like it, though not in this race. Since then I'm careful about it. The thing is I went to the pit lane, adding throttle on the pit entrance right in moment, when the tyre/fuel screen pops up. And as throttle works as enter-button, it confirmed the default setting without me being able to change them.

Going backwards on the start / finnish straight? You're kidding, right? ;)

As for the race:
I had an awesome begging! 6th on the grid, managed to get fourth in the rain even after after losing position to ekke after a minor mistake. But still - great race for me with (so far) results way beyond my expectation. I was really enjoying even the driving - not seeing anything, but controlling the car nicely.

In lap 4 the water-meter said, that there's 0 % water on the track, so I went for RS. Then a disaster! Coming out of the pits I span and hit the wall. Then I crashed virtually in every corner on the track! My car was totally undriveable. I was thinking: "What the truck is that?! Is my steering wheel broken?!" In 5th lap and first half of 6th lap I lost 2 minutes!

After the race it was explained to me, that racing line was dry, but besides that it was wet. OK, that's realistic, I can understand that. But what I consider idiotic is, that the water-meter says 0 %. I'm sorry, but in my book 0 % water means completely dry track! Not track where your car goes totally out of control every time.

Also does any of you perfectly understand the weather-settings in the game? Especially the one called weatherr changeability? As yesterday was supposed to be a wet race, but it was raining only first 3 laps. Later some drops fell, but without affecting anything.

i think that from 60 on its supposed to be raining from light two hardest. in my test i think changeability adds or subtracts its value from weather every now and then... this is why if u start at 60 weather you can either have a completely dry race, or a set one and most conditions in between.

obviously if you start at weather 0% i had only once a couple of raindrops after racing two hours in private tests in the last minutes, and in other occasione nome at alla.

concerning tire bug i had 100% the sale and anomalous tire wear too

did you overshoot the pit entry, if yes you

Great race, but so so difficult .
My race, i was lucky enough to be 2nd on the grid, and got in the lead from the start , i was so so nervous .
just kept in control just about and managed not to make any mistakes, but for you guys back there is the spray i have no idea how you managed, it was hard enough with a clear track to keep it all together.
Managed to get to 3rd lap and could see behind True blue and Ekke battling hard and slowing each other down so that gave me a bit of leeway . at the end of lap 3 water was 0% although with heavy rain tyres grip seemed fine,
so decided to pit for my hard front medium rear combo . out of the pit lane quite slowly and the car just did a painfully slow 360% and ended up on the right shoulder of turn 1 , that cost me around 10 seconds , so not big drama, then just ran off max pace and happily in 4th as there were 2 cars hat didnt pit .
had the same thing on the next lap at turn 1 and had no idea why i was spinning again, even with a slow approach, but there was noone in front i could see any spray from, but from post it seems wet on the pit straight .
Just kept going from then, really only made 1 bad driving error but overall i only lost around 25 seconds in mistakes during the whole race , and amazingly at around lap 12 i see i am 1.30 seconds behind ? cant see how that happened but i was not chasing the clock, just keeping a good pace without errors.
Then i came to priest on the last lap who was running at around 120 mph on the straight and struggling for fuel, so managed to get 4th. gap was 55 seconds i believe .
fantastic race for me though and i cant believe the pics they look really great, especially the ones with that lovely pink car out front .

also i went too see the replay and it started the front sequence as normal then nothing, waited around 2 minutes but nothing came up .
i tried to export the replay but it said file too large to export.
Did anyone else get the replay, i want to see what it was like for you guys that started down the grid in all that spray. anyone ?

looking out for news on tire "bug"
User @sparrow_ger is reporting
Yes, the tyre bug is still there. Just tested it in the Suzuka S-Class race with the Audi R10.

After lap 1 - 5:
- Front: 3
- Rear: 5

After lap 6 - 10:
- Front: 5
- Rear: 1

I made a pit stop after lap 5. In lap 10 the car was undriveable.

Even 5 weeks and 3 patches after the release this heavy bug is still there. This level of incompetence is almost unreal...

I am beginning to believe in my first assumption, This is not a "bug" but an attempt at simulating "scrub"/heat cycled tires, with the pit replacement tires being new/"sticker" tires.

This would explain the lower grip levels, shorter life, etc.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=66
Many tire manufacturers use very aggressive tread compounds for the Track & Competition DOT-legal tires they’ve developed for autocrossing, track days and road racing. And just like other high performance parts, these tires will provide more consistent performance and last longer if they are properly broken in.
The first time Track & Competition DOT tires go into service is very important. All tires deflect under load and their tread rubber compounds repeatedly stretch and relax as they roll into and out of contact with the road. This stretching breaks some of the weaker bonds between the tread rubber molecules, generating heat. If new Track & Competition DOT tires are initially run too aggressively, too hot or too long, some of the stronger bonds will also be broken which reduces tire grip and wear.

Putting new Track & Competition DOT tires through an easy initial heat cycle and then not running them for a minimum of 24 hours allows the rubber bonds to relink in a more uniform manner than they were originally manufactured. Heat cycling actually makes Track & Competition DOT tread compounds more consistent in strength and more resistant to losing their strength the next time they are used.

No im a shower i just work stupid hours :( im sorry

Ah ok, sorry I've now arranged to go with @SkengD, @hognhominy has just signed up tho and is running in the Lexus so you can form a team??

Overall race was interesting besides the issues, Silverstone is going to be a challange tho, not a fan of that track!

My replay is fine altho like the GVE race it came up with stop recording message even the my save file does have the whole race.

Great news with the update I'll hopefully get it later and hope the tire issues has been resolved!
