Enthusia Pro Racer ? GT4 clone?

The problem with that argument is that most, if not all, of the cars announced so far already appear in GT4.

It's a road going 037 and - must I say - one of my favourite cars (but I still miss the good old 131 Abarth).


Anyway, like some others said before, my choice between GT4 and Enthusia is very simple. I choose to buy both

btw, I'm kinda glad Enthusia is released in September. That way I won't have to buy them at the same time.

Yes I mean consoles, but a couple of points here... I think that you have inadvertantly proved my point. None of the above examples have them all together.

I don't own GTR, but have driven the demo which is an excellent pointer as to where the Consoles should be in their next iteration. The integration with the MoTeC data analysis tool is another example of where I would like to see the GT franchise take racing realism to.

I have owned every GT version since 1 (as well as many PS wheel and pedal combos) and will continue to do so in the future. Unlike you I like to keep an open mind as to the possibilities of each platform without straying into PC vs Console tribalism that you so obviously relish. It is true that the Internet at times brings out the worst in some people/children...

Whoa, wait a minute. You are the one who brought up the whole thing about Consoles vs. PC.

You yourself have written of consoles as not being able to do a proper sim and then you call me close minded about the possibilites of the current gen? Hypocritical much? 👎

It seems Konami isn't joking. They'll do their best in competing GT4. Now it depends on the little extras, like special manufacturers, original fictional tracks, selection of cars in general, and the way of going through the game.

i gotta say this game is looking very impressive the sound of that lemans car in that vid is jaw dropping, the offroad physics also look perfect

the way I look at it is this, through out history games have come out that are always suppose to be bigger and badder than the GT game out or coming out. And what game always prevails? Gran Turismo is possibly the greatest series for racing ever made and I am not just a fanboy, I am just looking at the facts. I am going to buy GT4 with out even a doubt in my mind but I am not going to get all gitty for games that have no real substance to substantiate a "omg" attitude. They could be better, but until I hear that they are there is no reason to get all excited.

I have a feeling this game is going to be much better than most people expected. It will proabbly be the next best thing... chances are it will be out in the U.S. before gt4.

My mate told me there was no plans for any sort of tunning, I think he read it in one of the UK PS2 mags... That was quite a while back too.

No tuning (turbo upgrades etc.) doesn't matter THAT much to me. You'll probably be able to adjust car setup.

That Audi R8 sounds soooo nice.

This game Enthusia truly does look incredible. But with GT4 coming out, it's going to be a game I'd have to rent first before I consider buying it. A lot of the ingame screenshots sort of seem like GT3 in a way, the backgrounds definately aren't as good as GT4 either. But if they do improve on some aspects that GT4 lacks like better exhaust sounds, laying down rubber on pavement etc, then I would definately buy it.

I do believe that it's true about there not being any modding in Enthusia, no extra parts to buy and install, just you and your car. Konami said it's because the emphasis is on the driving.

i hope this game gets ported to pc. Konami's been porting alot of games to pc lately, and it wouldnt have to compete with gt4 there.

First of all, why is this thread HERE? Sure, GT is mentioned, but it's not ABOUT GT4. Next deal, I see this game having only one advantage over GT4 and Forza, it will be on multiple systems. Question is, will it beat GT4 and/or Forza? I can't really say much because I don't know too much about this game. All I know is that it will have racing in the desert with big ass SUVs, and it has the Nurburgring Nords. I thought 2004 would probably be the year of the racing game, but guess what? 2005 will be the year of the Racing Game. Enthusia will be a viable contender as it ventures back into racing games (can't really remember the last Konami racing game), but I don't know where Konami would rank in the battle of Polyphony Digital vs. MGS (Microsoft Game Studios) vs. Konami in the racing game triple threat.

But... we'll all be awaiting to play any demos, right? As a racing game veteran, I'm actually curious myself about how this game will be.

You can discuss Enthusia in the PS2 forum and Forza in the Xbox froum. Simple.

Al competition es good... As someone said before, I think it looks very promising and it is a direct competition for GT4. I am not going stop buying GT4, i will probably buy both of them, so sales are not going to be an issue for SONY. But at least now they have a true competitor and they will wake up, smell the coffee and make an even better GT5! ... A monopoly kills creativity.

I just hope that enthusia brings plenty of new ideas and it isn´t just another flop.

the way i see it, GT4 is like fifa, (enjoyable gameplay, customisation options, and huge sales) whiles enthusia is like pro evo (for the hardcore gamer who likes a real challenge, lesser sales). the good news is, there is enough to go round for everyone...

I have to agree with silvergt but we still dont know wether entusia will be any fun which pro evo is. I love the GT series and have had every game but with PD realeasin new 1s evey half decade or so i soon get bored of the GT games as i have completed them. So I will sure be welcoming any other driving simulator which arrives and ofcourse I hope enthusia and forza will be better than Gran Turismo 4 as i know how much fun Gran turismo is and so if those 2 games are better all the more fun for me and you.

I'm really looking forward to Enthusia... I hope they have the same game play as Toca Race Diver 2.... Many of the screen shots are as good as GT4....

and Enthusia has touge tracks.... that should be really interesting...
