Lol, dude, whatever. Every game looks as good as that in high res screenshots. SRS, NFSU2, all look like that. Gran Turimo 4 looks 4 times better than that in the High res screenshot.

Well, live is right. You are a KY arse kisser. And you're worse than Cobra.

GT4's hi-res shots are nothing like the actual game in motion. When GT4 is in motion, it looks nothing like the Hi-Res shots.

And you also classify as a Graphics-Whore.

When it comes down to a game, graphics make up a small portion. Everything else is the features, and such.

Competition is a good thing, as it will push PD to produce a higher quality product in the future. Wait and see what happens when Madden '06 comes out without any, and see how many glitches that game might have. Now that Sega/NFL2K series is out of the picture for 5 years, they can put anything out and people will buy it in droves. It will be interesting to see if they still put innovative things in the game, or just update the roster. I'm definitly buying Enthusia if the physics are more like GTR and GPL. I love both of those games, and had them imported just to have Driving bliss.

Competition is a good thing in many ways for games. Like you said, competition can push your opponent to make a better game, while you in the mean time, must do the same. I have a feeling GT5, Forza 2, and (if there is) Enthusia 2 will be even more amazing games.

Have to agree with that, it really isn't that complicated for any of the major companies to produce racing games with pretty good graphics, on the other hand, a lot of it goes to waste on fairly "average" games such as-

-Apex (XBOX)
-Racing Evolution
-Group S Challenge (How many have even touched the box :P)

It's been like that since the beginning from titles such as "Driving Emotion Type-S" For it's time, the graphics were decent, and it actually had accurately rendered cockpits with the driver's hands steering and shifting, which hasn't even made it into the GT series yet, and Type-S was the biggest piece of crap out there.

I for one don't know what to think of Enthusia because I haven't heard a lot about the features yet, but i'm having high hopes from what i've seen recently.

I enjoyed a few of Apex's cars. And I did like the storyline behind it. Build a new never before seen car was new. However, there just wasn't enough to help the game. Good storyline, not enough actual goodiness.

Like I said earlier, I don't know as much as I should about this game. Don't be like some of the AOL Chatters who hate on you for making one tiny mistake.

I will admit, though. When I first seen the pictures in action on an episode of "X-Play," I thought it was Gran Turismo 4! But it wasn't. It was Enthusia Professional Racing. Someone mentioned that it looked like "GT4 with GT1 backgrounds." That Subaru Impreza rally car in the bottom picture of Post #91 looks pretty damn real. Everything looks real sharp on that car.

Live4speed isn't a moron. He's a pretty good mate on GTP. I've been impressed with seeing more pictures of EPR. Something "Initial D" fans would like is that mountain drifting stuff in one of those pictures in this thread. How many of you would mark down EPR as a sleeper hit over GT4 and Forza?

Realism too far? Hmm..I wonder how that could be. Perhaps bogged down with too much technical tinkering? It's hard to imagine something getting too realistic.
Probably means that the physics are too close to the real thing. For example I doubt many people will be able to (after a year or two of practice) take out a Formula One car out onto a track and post times that are competitive with drivers like Schumacher and Barichello, etc

Enthusia is going to be a breath of fresh air. It may not be perfect, but neither will GT4.

No damage, no on-line, no tuning, but it will give us another chance to play some more real tracks, like the Nurburgring, the physics will be really interesting, working night lights(?), falling snow, and their new gaming ideas (visual gravity) will be a treat. Even the linear prize car list is a bit unusual, too. It looks as if someone has been thinking out of the box.

Finally, something to change our brainwave patterns.

Cheers,

MasterGT

The funny thing is most game developers will only try to improve their game a lot if they are given competition. While the developers of Gran Turismo are always looking for ways to improve their own game, whether there is competition or not. They do need to realize the errors of some of their methods however. They need to have representatives from each country's cars they use instead of just using an all japanese crew.

Do you guys think it will come out for PC aswell? And will it be released in Europe (PAL version)?

WOW enthusia has skidmarks and the cars can become dirty. I wait every GTx for those 2 things but still nothing.

Is there any proof of this, or is there a confusion between the ability to setup a car and with installing new parts.

Tuning as in adjusting settings, height, camber, gear ratio, limited slip differentials, etc. No aditional parts from what I have been told.

Right, we were talking about performance tuning like changing turbo's and suspension kits ect.

I can't believe some people just come here guns blazing just because it ISNT GT. Shameful behaviour.

Anyway, from the vids I've seen, the interviews with different automotive personalities, and the honest-to-god low res screens (they do have quite a few from earlier builds which still show good car models and cornering attitude), this game is my darkhorse favourite.

the audio, judging from one of the latest vids, is much better than GT4's (if it wasn't fixed or anything tricky like that).

I dont see why all you GT fans are being so childish as to call GT competion clones and saying that they should be original. Well just what else can you do with a car simulator. Give the cars the ability to fly just to be original and not get accused of copying. Its not copying its just that GT has a huge market with no real competition and therefore other programmers want to get on the bandwagon and try and take some of the market share. They wouldnt be making the games unless they honestly thought that they could make a better game.

So therefore bring on Enthusia and bring on Forza and I pray that they are better than the mighty and beloved GT4 for it will be for the best of us all.

so mclaren, posting my opinion on a game automatically makes me a KY asskisser and a graphics whore? youre worse than liveforspeed. MAN, you need to get real. Shut the **** up and go back into your cave.

so far, the only real antagonist in the thread is you. If you think enthusia sucks, kindly state some reasons or shut up. there are many other threads you can hi-jack.

ive already stated why i think it sucks, and every time i do that one of you assholes come calling me a "KY asskisser" and a "graphics whore". What the hell do you want me to do? Im not going to let them insult me like that....

I hope that was directed at me after I explained that wasn't an attack at you. I can make it an attack on you if you really wan't, but so far your the only person acting like a moron and an asshole here. The only reason I've seen you give is the graphics, so McLaren F1's comment calling you a graphics whore isn't that wrong is it, or have you given another more intelligent reason and overshadowed it with your graphics comments.

Sounds like it should be fun to play + decent graphics (some of the high res screens I've seen look better than GT4s photomode shots in my opinion) + weather (someone said) + dirt + working head lights + some cool cars not included in GT4 = Probable purchase :)

I really hope Enthusia is a success, PD need some competition.

a lot of words wasted. You could have summed it up by saying: "I'm a pretentious Gran Turismo fanboy"

you'd get the same effect.
