I think you need to set up the car. You can leave it at level 1 (I find tuning level doesn't change the driftability of the car) if you want, but you definately need to tighten up your LSD. Set it to about 3/4 of the way. Also set the ride hight about half way (front and rear) and set the front suspension at half and the rear suspension at 3/4. Now all that's left is a yank of the e-brake, a kick of the clutch and some sustained opposite lock.

Speaking of opposite lock............
I have a CRAZY technique for high angle drifting in Enthusia. (I use two steering wheels) I get down to the right speed, disengage the clutch, yank the e-brake, turn in violently, rev the engine, pop the clutch, go to opposite lock, THEN RIGHT WHEN IT WANTS TO CORRECT I GO TO ZERO COUNTERSTEER AND EVEN TURN IN TO THE TURN SOMEWHAT, then when it balances out at a 60*+ angle to the road I countersteer as needed and throttle control it. This is the best way to get MASSIVE angle consistently in this game IMO. You can use any technique you want to get high angle, I have used fient, e-brake, braking, shift-lock, and I always clutch kick, but I want to emphasize my technique for keeping it there. TRY IT SOMETIME, IT'S LOADS OF FUN.

hmm... ok... When I drift, I'm not working on my angle, but I work more on how fast I can drift into the corner.

Oh, I forgot to tell you.......

You have really good car control, I just think that cars peg legging was limiting your ability somewhat. That's why I suggested tightening your LSD.

Afterall you can get higher entry speeds if you have better forward drive while drifting through the rest of the turn. It's an odd theory, but it works, it's too complicated for me to be able to explain why.

Sorry, I didn't mean to rag on you, just your weak differential. lol

The first one was a little off, but the second one was beautiful! :) 👍

Yeah, the first one was a warm-up. I love feeding on the power in that car and listening to it roar as the back end hangs out. This is why I keep coming back to Enthusia, just because its so much fun to drive!

Yeah, if I had a capture card. How much are they anyways? I need one bad.

Here is the one that I bought. $73 seemed like a reasonable price to me. :)

Also, as to the topic of car setup....the LSD suggestion is a good one; if I ever bother to tune a car, I usually just move the slider all the way to "locked," because it never really means "locked" anyway, it's just a strong LSD.

However, I would not underestimate the ability of many, many cars to drift well in stock form. The LSD tuning comes into play when it comes to older cars, like the S30 Fairlady Z, but suspension tuning is usually unnecessary. I prefer to drift cars stock, myself (all of the videos I've uploaded feature stock cars).

I drift stock too, but that's basically because I hated how you had to set up cars for drifting in Forza and GT3,4 when they should be perfectly driftable stock. Also, you have to change settings every time you load a track, so I don't think I could stand to do it anyway.

Lastly I go for smooth drifts focusing on a good line, so I don't really care about big angle.

lots of the cars in gt4 can be drifted stock. what are you talking about

I have to agree that you can drift in GT4, but...

You can't control your line & speed in GT4 when you drift. It's a pain to do descent drift with car stock. Sometime you wonder if you drift or not when you're sideway.

Are you referring to drifting in GT4, or power-oversteer?

I agree completely with Tortus. The idea that "cars absolutely must be tuned and set up properly to drift!!" is one that has been wrongfully propagated by the Gran Turismo series, among other sources...

Ok news for everyone!

My friend have installed an editing program for video. I don't know how to use it yet, but expect some cooler video later. 👍

Yeh! I'm the first one to see it (first download)!

EDIT (After seeing the vid)

Awesome! I really like the music! The part where you catch up to the Z-tune really got my adrealine going! Just too bad that you understeered there, got passed, and had noticable contact... Unbelievably good for a first try! 👍

Thanks, Yeah I have to say that I had too much pressure by the R34 S-Tune. I tried to find a car that would actually give me some challenge & do a battle with it.

I know the title of this thread is "Enthusia Drift Video," but it seems like it has simply turned into the main video thread, so I figured it would make the most sense to put this here.... :)

I was planning on making a video for another forum I go to, and I decided to take a spin 'round the 'Ring in a 787B. I was pushing myself, so I kept on going off-course, or spinning out, and I wanted the video to be "perfect," so I kept on trying, eventually adding an LSD to tame the rear end. Finally, after probably 6 restarts, I made it around without any major mistakes. In doing so, I set an all-time personal record; 6'06"!! (unfortunately, the diff negated any chance of that record being put on the list in the game... :ouch: )

I would like to share this video with you guys, to hear what ya think of it! :)

The song is by an artist named Matt Darey, and is dedicated to the 787B...not only the fastest car in Enthusia (thus, "Gamemaster..." ), but one of the most impressive racecars ever built...and it was only allowed to race Le Mans once. :(

OK

Here my new video. The Altezza uphill battle!(Light Edited)

I still need to figure out how to keep the quality...

Nice battle, :) strange fuzziness...

I'm sure you're working on that second part. Anyway, I'm impressed that you were able to keep up so well, considering what a monster that Skyline is...

Wow. I like near the end part, where you just rush in to win, i can see you were so close on R34's tail too. And those are some insane entries in the hairpins, its like so close to the guard rail!!! O,o!! Blurry but really good!! 👍

that's fast! you handled the corners pretty well 👍. and the music really matches the vid, its like watching a commercial or a demonstration :D. Keep it up!

one offtopic post...

Can anyone get close to 3'20" uphill with an Evo 8? Really curious to see some of you guys with skills do it.

Thanks! :D I edited the music a little bit so that it would fit with the video... :) 👍

I'll give it a shot after I'm done with school. I won't promise anything, however; I'm more of a RWD driver than an AWD one, and I don't have much experience uphill...I believe it was Keiichi Tsuchiya that said "real men drive the downhill," or something like that... ;)

By "see some of you guys do it," do you mean you want to see "yeah, I can do it, *blank* was my time," or do you want to see a video?

Hey! I don't want to drive dowhill just because I don't want to hear " Hey! You are going downhill!"... Not good...

Besides, uphill is more frustrating, I'm exercising my endurance of those frustration... I'm in high school you know!

Just kidding, offence none taken.

Well, I couldn't make it... :ouch: :(

I managed to do a 3'20"163...I know I could go a little faster, but I don't want to drive this car anymore. :yuck:

No offense to you (if you like the car), but this Evo has reaffirmed all of the reasons why I dislike AWD's, with flourish...

Anyway, you've got my time, now ya just gotta convince the others to give it a shot as well. :)

Only in real life...

In a downhill, you enter in the corner much faster than on a flat road. I think that is the reason why he says real men doing it downhill. I mean it take more guts to do the downhill. Though Enthusia is a game... the uphill is more harder than the downhill when it come for time attack. Finding the good entry & exit is hard on uphill than in the downhill.

I don't really see how finding the entries and exits is harder...when I first started driving the Evo uphill, I didn't know the turns as well, and I had some wall contacts...but after I learned the course, figuring out how to take the corners wasn't any more difficult than any other course...

Anyway, for ->me<-, it was!!!

I fugured why the video look more crappy, lol!

YOU KNOW WHAT???

I'm a dumb ass.

It's simple if I edit something it sure lose quality... so all I have to do is to capture my video in higher resolution(DVD MPEG video, by the way, dang the DVD format picture quality capture is incredible, lol! I never though my graphic card could do that!!!)

Here the test I made CLICK HERE

The actual resolution is 640*480

The video is actually 4.46MB, so figure what I'll do in my next ones.(Can't tonight, I'm too busy. I'll make on tomorrow.)

Do you have a replay of that? If you do, could you post the vid here in bumper cam? Thanks!

I bought a new toy for my PC. It's called a hard drive that can take 200GB. :P

I don't think I'll be worried about space now. :)
