They are plyaing really well but I fear that the group will still get the better of us... even though we lead the group and have beaten France home and away, we still need 4 points from the last two games to be sure of qualifying... we simply have to beat Georgia (on their own turf) AND must hold Italy to a draw - that's not going to be easy... Unless France slip up against Lithuania - which is highly unlikely - Italy will be playing for the win, because a draw with Scotland will see them go out..Looking good for Scotland though, they seem to be playing with a hell of a good team spirit at the moment and it's doing wonders for them.
This is our best qualifying performance ever even if we don't make it.It's a real shame since Scotland have done so brilliantly, but they have to keep performing and get that draw against Italy - however, a draw against Georgia would mean we'd have to beat Italy
AND ITS ALL YOUR FAULTIM SCOTTISH THATS IT
Looks like the real Scotland have escaped from their captors, and have turned up to play this game. They've been held captive all through the qualifying campaign.
You know, I wouldn't be surprised if Scotland does wins against us, we've been playing sooooo badly, I'm even mad that we're winning. (Literally of course)All we have to do now is to beat Italy.
Nae bother....
We do always play better against the better teams and when we're not expected to win, but I don't see us beating you. Although I did read somewhere that Italy have never beaten us at Hampden...You know, I wouldn't be surprised if Scotland does wins against us, we've been playing sooooo badly, I'm even mad that we're winning. (Literally of course)
Tactics, yes, team selection, not really. Where were his tactics when he failed to change the team on Weds, until it was far too late. But McLaren is like an arse that needs wiping, and I've held this view long before he even got the England job. Moments like his smirk, as he announced that Backham wasn't in his squad ponly confirmed that. He's a back stabber, and talks a load of crock.True but you can't fault him for what he's done in tactics and selection over the past 5 games and tonight we could be considered unlucky in some respects.
The fact that they do throw money away is an argument for him being sacked and paid off, not against it. He's not good enough for the England job, simple as. He started to pick well when injuries forced his hand, but he's not someone I want to see in charge of England. I can't see him keeping his job if we don't qualify. The pressure the FA will be under to sack him will reall ymake it a no-brainer for them.We all know he won't be sacked if we don't qualify, why would the FA (an association that pays England players 150K even when they FAIL to qualify) spend money buying out his contract after a year.
