Calma Stefano, I wouldn't feel that proud if we won against a team like that one :indiff:. and even less if we tied or lost against it :scared.
 
So how did you guys like the match of England against Brazil? I couldn't get a chance to see it, but from what I hear, Beckham had an expectacular night.
Too bad they didn't win though...

BTW, I know this is not the right thread for this, but hey, we still don't have a general football discussion thread yet.

England were crap, beckham still didn't perform to the levels that he did at real madrid recently. England had about 1 shot on target before the goal wheras Brazil had several attempts on goal. Even if Brazil didn't play to their best they still made england look stupid on lots of occasions.
 
I saw the first half and then went out. Ronaldinho was playing well and Beckham had a nice chance from a free kick. We were not doing too bad in defence(is it defence or defense?) and mid was good but like the commentator said, we were stuck for ideas up front.

Dunno about the second half though....

Carragher is a good defender, but he's not cut out to play rightback. The amount of times he got caught out by ronaldinho on the left due to him trying to play more centrally where he's used to. There were allot of last ditch tackles going on by england and I saw Owen and Allan smith making them as well, which wasnt a good sign. Our midfield wasnt that great. So many players that were picked on name and not form, he could have used this friendly to try those players, but no what does McLaren do? Well he just puts all the usual suspects who havent been playing well together again allong with Joe Cole (still doesnt look fit) and Michael Owen (not fit and hasn't scored a goal in how long? so he's gonna somehow magically regain his form in this match). I'd say beckham deserved to go in the team on form, Lampard does not deserve a place as he's been utter crap in so many of his recent england performances. It should be someone like hargreaves or carrick next to gerrard.

Blah I could complain about england all day but I give up.
 
Carricks a better attacking mid fielder, Hargreaves holds play well and is a better defensive and holding mid fielder so I'd definitely rather Carrick playing up alongside Gerrard, but if we were wanting someone to hold infront of the defence then Hargreaves is the man for the job. I think everyone could complain about England all day, we just can't be bothered anymore. McLaren is a dunce, and not fit to manage the England squad. The public see's it, I'm sure the players see it though they won't say for obvious reasons. It's just the FA board that don't. Or maybe they do and they want to keep him because he can be controlled just like Turnip head Taylor, who the board wanted to make England manager for life.
 
Carrick and Downing are the two biggest wastes of space from the resources we have, I've yet to see either do anything to really justify their being chosen. Hargreaves is a far better choice to go along side Gerrard, we know what Stevie can do going forward and we tend to miss that attacking punch from midfield, something we'd see if Hargreaves played the holding role allowing Gerrard to get forward more.

Smith did nothing but do my friggin head in for as long as he was on, it was a wonder Crouch didn't start, Beckham had a good night, didn't hit his absolute best but certainly justified being picked.

Yes.... Stupidest effing thing E.V.A.H..... Personally, I would've preferred a -0-6 defeat by legal means than Poulsens brain hemorrhage followed by Professor Numbnuts in person... And we were Dominating sweden so hard it wasn't even funny...

No Euro 2008 for us either...

In the news they said running on the pitch is an element of crime in Denmark. The maximum penalty for this crime is three years of imprisonment. In Germany fans can only get banned from the stadium. That's why there are fences in Germany's stadiums.

Yearh well... Suspending the game - I don't know if that was the right decision, but I'm with the Ref on this one - it's his call, and if he's not feeling safe, then so be it... But right or wrong... Hard call...

As far as I know, entering the Pitch in Denmark isn't a felony - but attacking the Ref definitely is. In England is considered a crime entering the pitch which is punishable with imprisonment...

But that's because there's been a few incidents in the history of English football that has led to fencing and terracing becoming unpopular so the only way to enforce it is with severe punishment.
 
That was horrible by Poulsen, if Pogatetz was banned for 3 months (iirc) why shouldn't Poulsen suffer a similar consequence for something so horrible? it looked like a full fledge punch too.

An owl tried to watch the Finland - Belgium game on the crossbar. But the game had to be stopped untill the owl got out of the way. Then the owl tried to attack some of the players and staff. Its pretty funny I guess.

That aside - We just got the results from EUFA :

  • Denmark looses 0-3.
  • Poulsen gets 3 days.
  • Next 4 home games must be played 250kms from Parken. (Our national stadium)
  • First game vs. Lichenstein for empty seats...

Where else in Denmark can you play now? 250 KM away from Parken is almost complete Denmark. You could go to Hamburg (Germany, 280 KM).

Har Har ;-) Outside the 250km line, there's only one stadium seating more than 8000.... And in case of the Lichtenstein game, it'll do since it'll be played for empty seats anyway...

AOL Arena for the remaining games seems most likely at the moment.. Nice stadium btw...
