EVO IX goes on sale in Japan today

I had a hard time finding this thread again... Well finally I found the EU vs US vs JP cars discussion on pages 5 + of this Evo IX thread... everybody likes different cars and that is not always based on facts... there are also emotions, patriotism, personal preferences etc... Personally I don't think this discussion will lead anywhere and I think the Evo deserves getting his thread back ... I mean honestly BlazinXtreme won't drive a japanese or euro car in near future and you also won't see Double_R driving happily in his new Neon....

Well give me a neon now and I would happily accept it but if I had the money for one I would buy something else. Something japanese. (Just for the fact that for the money its the best i would get. But if money wasnt a problem I would roll out with something european.)

Edit: You know Neons are fairly decent cars, but there are better cars that you could own in Europe, well not better more convinent. It's a car that does better in it's home market than it would in others.

Yes the evo is very nice. They dont look to too good in pictures though but I get to see the real beatuy of them every so often at my local mitsubishi dealership.They look much nicer up and personal.

No I wouldn't feel bad because she was driving way to fast for the conditions. And my truck weighs 3200 pounds with 101 inch wheel base, thats not that heavy.

Well, it's ok... you're still young, that is probably the reason for your agressive and extreme reactions, and I think that is ok... next thing is, that is often not too easy to be openminded in the heart of America, especially in your age... so againg not your fault... if we would talk again about this in a few years you'd probably see some things in a different way... patriotism is not a easy subject.... it is not autmatically good or bad, but I think one can say that it is always dangerous if you put million of different characters and opinions into one general patriotic feeling... if you learn to see that all nations are a lot of individuals you will see that there exist probably thousands of french people you like a lot more than some thousand Americans living next to your house.....

Coming back to the topic.... I really wonder why the Rally Evos got into trouble over the past years... I hope they come back to the top, since PSA is leaving the WRC soon......

Yes I have to agree with that. I hate seeing mitsubisahi in last position. I wish they could up the ante with every manufacturer being allowed 350bhp instead of the meager 300bhp.

Why does it seem as if the Lancer Evolution is getting heavier with each generation? At this rate it'll weigh more than an R34 Skyline by the time the Evo 11 goes into production.

Yeah the wheelbase... although you can't compare a race car and a street car, if you take the Evo 7/8 : they are faster than the Evo 5 or 6... but you came up with a important thing : I always disliked the fact that the Evo and STI raced against the Peugeot 206 WRC ( they had to put larger almost ridiculos looking bumpers on it to get the length WRC cars needed to have at that time....)

" what your car doesn't have 17 airbags like mine?", but ok who wants to be dead after crashing with these fast cars? ... Third point might me the luxury thing : Even a Evo has to be somewhat compatible to the masses... and only hardcore drivers want to drive a car where discussions end at 60 miles per hour because you simply don't understand anything anymore because of the noise... these features are all kg's ...
