Lag took over on lap 3, but red-ASH32's race ending punt on me was no accident.:grumpy: Try again at xx:15, bit disappointed my grid position was taken away at the start, lag again I guess.

Edit: red-ASH32 is a good racer, PD are lowsy connection creators.:P

I have raced with red-ASH32 many many times and even talked to him personally a few times, I have seen him getting punted and put up with punters many times (like most of us) with no retaliation at all and I would be EXTREMELY suprised if he punted you on purpose.

+1.

But is he using a pad or a wheel? Cause he seems to be struggling with the ferrari's for some reason. Not as fast as with the GT-R at Fuji at all.

How can you be sure if there was lag? If a car would appear to be in a different place, there's no way to tell if contact was intentional or not. Do not assume malice unless 100% sure. 👍

I've got a PSN message from him, but haven't read it yet. I'm assuming it's apology. He didn't hit me from behind, he pulled alongside me on the straight and then I got hit from the side. I didn't think that was a possible lag incident? Anyways, if it's an apology I can only assume there's more to it and accept his apology.

:banghead: I was coming 3rd in that one when I crashed.:grumpy: Then my TV lost its connection to the PS3, and the race was over so now I'm sitting in the bunker. Lots of lag and stupid crap willing me not to race again tonight. Besides, Heroes is about to start.

Edit: Yeah, he had no idea what happened, stupid lag.

Sorry if I gave you a little push between T1 and T2 on lap 1. Didn't see our cars hit eachother, but it seemed like you got pushed by me.

Going off while 3rd, you say? Try battling for the win with Eclipse_RC and going off at 130R on the last lap :ouch:.
I just overtook him on the straight and had more speed then usual cause I slipstreamed a little bit, but didn't brake enough. My right rear tyre got onto the grass just a little and i lost it. Still came in 3rd, but could have won it.:(

It's the same for me, I am struggling like hell with this event.

Many thanks to all the kind gents who have sent me tunes, I will be practising further with them tonight :)

All the best

The yesterday's one was my fastest round until now

Thanks for all, guys

No no, even with all the lag I recall no contact between us. It's fine for you in the Cali to have a crash, you'll live to fight another day. In the 512 BB, good results must be hard earnt when you're actually racing fast drivers.;)

Seems thats because it kinda is. Apparently the actual definition is 'mid-front', as below. Certainly does make the handling sweet. 👍

Wow...

I didn't bother to investigate, and I assumed it was a FR. Being a MF (that is not a good abreviation...) explains it all to me.

It doesn't have too much weigh in the front, and it's behind the wheels so it does not understeer from it's inertia as a FR. And it doesn't have any "lack" of weight in the front and heavier rear as an MR, that produces "floating" understeer under power, with rear grip pushing the car straight forward.

Of course if the front grip limits and the turn in are this improved, that means the rear will "appear" a lot "worst" and the car will be very tail happy. But I love that, and especially how this rear suspension works to cope with it.

It may just be my new favorite engine placement, and one of my favorite cars. Up there next to the Lotus Elise.

^ Yeah that really explains the handling a little.. I wonder what are the effects of the roof position. Driving top down, when the roof is in the back maybe helps the handling more towards the MR-like handling bringing some weight to the back and lowering the center of gravity. So the car might really be better to drive on a track with the roof down. :)

Ofcourse I'm quessing the roof istn't very heavy but it's still something.

As for the roof dow, IMO even if it's little weight brings any minor advantage in balance and turning, the aerodynamic drag it produces will be murder on your acceleration, top speeds and ultimatly lap time.

(sorry if it's a bit off topic...)

Yes.. You might be right with the aerodynamics.

good racing this evening again, thanks to all. 👍

today i saw the fastest race time.

GTRP, KOR and Motorious haha, different race, different cars, different physics, same fast guys :)

Congratulations guys, I would love to have seen that race.

game times don't mean much as the RBE is the one in charge...

To a degree, but you can't toodle around and let the RBE drag you to a 10:36. I don't care what RBE is in effect. That's seriously going for it !!

Took my F40 for a quick spin, did one race and I'm off. As far as I'm concerned the car continues to be off the pace (maybe 1 sec per lap but I'm not sure because when I get about 10 secs behind the race leader RBE kicks in and I can keep that distance until the race ends).

Anyway, got 3rd because two GTPers left the race (bennant in the last lap, DigitalRelay sooner), because mr geez had trouble with punters at the back and because all others can't keep their F599, F430 and Californias going straight for a full lap.

Call me crazy, but I don't care to drive the least competitive of all Ferraris. There's too many events now to create another one, but the F40 is indeed my favourite Ferrari so that's the car I choose to drive.

PS - Maybe PD should check what makes a 650PP F40 a lesser car than all other 650PP Ferraris (512BB included).

I left, meaning stayed parked where I was left spinning, that race because I was taken off the track by another GTPer (see above) and if I tried to rejoin the race at that point I would have come on track in the middle of the pack behind me which is very unsporting.

The F430 is about .5-1 sec a lap slower on it's own. If you can get the slipstream of a California with it you can stay with them and pass in the esses (the f430 is still better here) but you'll be repassed on the straights again...so what's the point really.

The F40 is hampered by it's gearbox and power range. On a fast circuit like Fuji or HSR it's fine because you can stay in the high RPMs. On Suzuka there is too much low end stuff which hampers the F40 even more.

I took the F40 to a few races and I like the car very much aswell. But yes it's not competitive against the newer ones. Adding to the things above posted, it also has rubbish brakes and rubbish suspension. :) But no suprise they have gone better in 16 years.

Yep, Red_ASH is a great driver, one of whom I really respect. I've seen him caught up with punters and he just dealt with it, I've never seem him retaliate. I highly doubt he punted you on purpose.

Let's see if online will be kinder to me tonight.

Edit: zabeu, you never hit me to my knowledge. Going into that high speed left hander on the back straight I clipped the grass on the outside, which made my car jump to the inside, then I ended up on the outside again and never even got a penalty and somehow came out in 1st place. That's why I slowed down on the straight, I screwed up and certainly didn't deserve 1st place. Unfortunately down at turn 1 my generosity was rewarded with a race ending punt.

Then that race just before, leading by 5sec with 1 lap to go and I crash. It's always at that high speed left hander on the back straight, the 512 BB doesn't like that corner much.

I had a load of fun tonight with Vanos, Bollocks and a load of other really great drivers.

So just to say thanks for the experience guys, it's not often I get to play and to be treated to such fine driving was awesome.

Did you guys notice a bug when tuning the F40, or is it just me?

In the tuning screen, drop power to -22, you will notice the PP dropping as usual. Notice the meter goes to -34. Then drop down from -22 to -34. No PP decrease? At -31 and -32 it goes down by 1 PP, only to rise back up by 1 on -33 and -34. Very strange.

Is it just me (corrupt savegame) or anybody else experience this too?

Hello, I am new here. I've been racing on this event for a little while now and have seen a couple of you around. You're all very clean, and very fast, I hope to see you all around more often.

I might go on tonight, after Bathurst I am in the racing mood. :)
