Yeah, I was wrong this time. My HDTV and my 360 can upscale 720p games to 1080p while my PS3 doesn't. As I remember right, the PS3 can only upscale movies to 1080p. According to its 360 game list on the thread you linked, some have 4xAA, some have 2xAA and few have no anti-aliasing. The PS3 has most games run with no anti-aliasing. As you said before, upscaling doesn't bring enough detail and you're right. Seriously, I don't know much about electronics as you do, but thanks for the lecture.

Well considering I walked past a door which said "GRID 2" and several GRID 2 posters at Codies, I think it's a safe bet. ;)

Codies have got a very busy 2011. 5 titles at least iirc.

If F1 2010 resembles GRiD in any way, shape, or form (I'm not talking about features, I mean the physics and the overall ridiculousness) it'll get broken into pieces just as GRiD did.

I love arcade racers and having fun, but that crap was just...despicable.

Where are you getting this from? because it's definitely not true. F1 2010 does NOT use the same graphics engine as GRID. It's based off the Dirt 2 engine, which a new engine built from the ground up. The physics in this game will be no where near as unrealistic as grids. They have already said that with all aids off, it will be quite sim-like, and a significant challenge to drive.

We are in for a GOLD MINE of a game this fall, gentlemen! Everything I have seen and read about F1 2010 is extremely encouraging. The videos only cement the fact that the graphics are nothing short of exceptional and are second to none. I honestly don't expect even GT5 to look as good as this game! It blew everyone away who saw it at E3 and I expect will blow us all away this fall.

Codemasters is BRINGING IT baby! 👍
 
If I'm correct the Dirt 2 graphics engine , which is called EGO and GRID used it also. It's a little tweaked though for F1 2010.

Here's the insidesimracing interview from E3, it's very nice and I have almost no doubt anymore that this is going to be a fantastic game.
 
Still looking good. The tracks really do look nice, and I like the variable amount of spectators thing.

I'm really liking how they're doing the marketing for this too, every few weeks there's a little something else and a new video to watch even though it's not due for sees. It keeps reminding me that this game is coming, and that I'm really looking forward to it.
 
Those cars looks like toy :P but yeah it is still good I guess. Also I think they have to minimize that yellow, bloom filter in other tracks as well. In the SPA video it was nice

The graphics are what I expect from a next gen race game. I do think the graphics, which are top notch, are on par with the graphics of GT5. On the other hand, it's amazing that PD accomplished such amazing graphics on the PS3.

Codemasters should develop a full blown race sim with iOpener technology and with the graphics of F1 2010.

Meh, they both look amazing in their element. F1 2010 looks unbelievable in the rain. GT5 looks spectacular at night. In the day...I don't even care. They both look great, hell if I want to waste brainpower trying to compute which one is better than the other.

I'm gonna go back to counting the angels on the head of this pin instead...

But yeah codemasters racing game look great especially environments,tracks :cool: All their games are 720P 30fps. RD Grid, Dirt all have great gfx and Dirt2 will be same with weather effects.

The problem is handling of cars and they need to avoid that yellow,bloom filter. In SPA video it look good but in some other tracks it is still there so hopefully they can fix it. They also make good trailers and F1 2010 presentation will be really good question is about gameplay, car physics. Even their menu are so fancy than normal lol

Guys the piss filter is gone. Looks a lot better than those screenshots posted above. And about the framerate, yeah it runs 30fps on console but ummm....

That's just misleading. Someone took a GT5 screenshot and ran it through Photoshop with the bloom up and a yellow filter and labelled it as Codemasters. I don't know where you found that but it's not cool.

I have nothing against a game running in 720p/30fps, I think that's perfectly acceptable for this generation. The fact that GT5 can do better is neither here nor there, I find the F1 2010 screenshots and videos to be spectacular in their own right.

They are exactly thesame. Only difference is the bloow and sepia filter. But Codies have removed it, just look at the demo. Don't you see that GT logo on the helmet? Which driver in F1 has that? ;)

It is photoshop image of GT5P I got it sometime back when F1 2010 image were shown with that bloom,yellow filter. That pic shows that Codemasters lightning model is not realistic.

However, the SPA video is really good and they seem to have removed that bloom, yellow filter and now it looks much better. Gfx are great codemasters racing games are really good looking in an artistic way

It's obvious that he used a GT5p screenshot for both screenshots. I just wanted to make other people, whom didn't see it, aware of it in a non abusive and an indirect way.

So who here are going to play this on the PS3? (I know I am:))
 
I will be getting the PS3 version as well as that's the only system I have that can actually run it(my laptop can run Toca 3, not much else).


Also, I doubt this will happen, but any word if any of the AI drivers will change throughout the seasons(IE Mark Webber retires getting replaced by some other driver)?
