I am finding that intermediates are impossible to drive on, it is like ice, is anybody else struggling with them ? I have tried most different car set ups and different wet conditions, the tyre is just ridiculous !

Maybe upshift earlier for traction, i find inters are much better then dry tyres for catching AI speed.

Just won my first career race in my Manor at Monza! Got 2nd at Spa which I thought was a fluke but apparently not!
Qualified 3rd, crazy race, I must say that this new AI in update 1.03 is really fantastic, no longer do they back out of moves, now they make it stick! The AI were going 4 wide along the main straight! Lots of crashes, had 2 safety cars and lots of strategy variety. And to top it off, Pascal managed 5th lol.
Manor are now 4th in the championship while I maintained my 7th in the drivers. Can't wait for Singapore!

Has anyone else had this glitch yet? Im on PC first of all, and I was doing my 2nd career race at Bahrain today, and somewhere in the middle of the race, my team mate Button came in to pit for tires, and when he came back out he got tangled up w/ Magnussen, who punctured Buttons tire. So Button is limping around the track trying to get back to pits, in dead last not in anyones way or posing any danger, and the game decides to throw out a safety car...... This is where it gets strange.

We all que up behind the safety car, and I'm currently in 7th, and Bottas comes in behind me in 8th. We're behind the safety car for probably at least 3-4 friggin laps w/ no dangers out on the track, and it finally heads in and the race resumes. I'm running my race, Bottas on my heels the whole time, and with a couple laps to go Bottas gets the better of me and passes me, and I see my place move down to 8th. I hang in with him, and had a few laps of fuel in hand from running lean during the safety car period, so I cranked the engine up to full power, got a good run on him going into the last turn on the last lap, and got him under braking and held it until the checkered flag.

Except when the race ended, it showed Bottas finished FIRST, with everyone else from 2nd place down being a lap down, and it counted me finishing 8th. I went back to the replay, and sure enough, once Bottas slotted up behind me under the saftey car, i tried switching to the next car behind me on the replay camera, and it skipped over Bottas and went to Sainz, who was behind him, like he wasn't even there. I even remember asking my engineer at one point after the safety car period who I was racing, and he told me Sainz, even tho it showed Bottas behind me, which I thought was weird at the time. Kinda pissed the game blew 2 points for me! haha. And with that fake win Bottas is currently leading the championship.

Yeah I had a similar glitch at Austria, gutierrez had his engine blow up at the finish line and he went from 17th to First, however he didn't get points for the win, infact no one did.

Go to 17:38 to see what I mean.

hahahaha, yeah thats even crazier than what happened to me. Hopefully I don't run into any of that nonsense in my next race.

I had Magnussen record the fastest FP1 time around Albert Park because the game didn't register a time for the first sector, and so he recorded a time of 1:02.5(-ish).

Since the PS4 patch, every race has been full wet. I saved mid-session during a wet Spa race before the patch went live and before I restarted the session I installed the patch, I'm on Suzuka now and every single race since Spa has been wet. I'm starting to get annoyed now...

Yeah the wet appears alot on career modes, but I wouldn't complain since it's much easier to beat AI in these conditions.

Anyway this is my latest race at Germany, im thinking i'll probably have to move difficulty to ultimate soon.

I've actually found inters really good, provided the weather and road surface are in appropriate condition for inters. Whenever it's wet, I'm much quicker relative to the AI than in the dry. You have to be extra careful, especially if you're used to the previous Codies F1 games. But it's way more realistic now.

In the older F1 games, wet roads were only slippery when you weren't on the right tyre. As soon as you put the inters (or wets) on, the car was once again on rails. In 2016, even on the right tyre for the conditions, you will have to be a lot more careful with your throttle and brake inputs, and much smoother steering, and your braking distances will be dramatically increased. You've also gotta short shift quite a lot for the low speed traction zones.

My career race in China turned to crap.
I couldn't work out why my engineer wanted me to pit with a lap and a half to go for SuperSofts, especially when I was running 2nd and keeping the 4.5sec gap back to third. Then I got a puncture coming onto the long straight.
I dropped to 4th but it would have been 5th had Hamilton not smashed into the back of me and DNF'ed. Kimi has gone back-to-back, oddly.

Onto the next round :)

I had the same issue at China in my first career, driving for Sauber (restarted my career since I got my wheel working). The engineer was repeatedly trying to get me to pit, but I was in a points paying position, and my pace wasn't too bad (I was slower than the cars behind me, but had enough gap). I checked the wear, and the front left was over 70% at the start of the last lap. Sure enough, coming around the long right hander onto the long straight, I had a front left blowout. Can't remember the exact position, but I was running in the points, and ended up finishing 17th lol.

As far as I can tell, your tyres are on borrowed time as soon as they're over 70% wear. You can push them further of course, but the likelihood of a puncture is massively increased when the wear gets to over 70%.

Ever since that race I've been very careful to avoid going over 70% wear where ever possible, and I've only had one puncture since then. Thankfully that happened literally right as I pulled into the pit lane.

Perhaps you were actually racing in GP2?

Easily my favorite platinum, I am having so much fun I haven't even started up Assetto Corsa yet.

Be prepared for a volley of my screenshots of the beginning of my career. I've gotten to Monaco with McLaren, having scored some points in every race but Melbourne so far. This game is easily the best F1 game ever released and only a handful of reasonable things could make it perfect, like female models, the entire roster being able to move around between teams, and slightly more fragile damage. Massive fun on both G29 and controller.

Haven't been able to finish Russia because a few laps in it keeps crashing. Wonder what's going on.
That is exactly what's happening with me. I finished a practice session pre-patch and the game crashed, I didn't want to do it again so I skipped (now post patch) to qualifying and the race. On lap 1, there was a big accident so I went in replay mode. The game crashed again.

It crashed once for me on day 1 when I was online. Beyond that it's been fine for me.

Oh that sucks to hear of crashes. I haven't had one (yet:scared:) and I've done nearly a full season before I got my wheel working and restarted the season. Hopefully they can sort it out.

I haven't experienced a single crash. I ran either both 25% and 50% races in season one and just started season two, hopefully I'll continue to have a nice stable experience.

I noticed the latest PC Patch added G27 wheel support. I wonder if we will see that added to the PS4 version someday???

I got a decent 12th at Spa in the Manor, but this was an important race as it was my TM Wehleins first point of the season in 10th! There was a mid stage of the stage where we racing each other in 11th & 12th,on the same compoud,we are starting to look quite strong in places - a very satisfying moment there! I made a mistake in my pit strategy and pitted a 3rd time - whereas quite a lot of drivers got away with a 1 stop! Thats what i love about these races, you feel you have made the wrong call, and it couldve been a better result - but thats like in real life and you can always make a better one in the next race.

Still in career mode season 1, Manor, difficulty Legend. Monaco 4th place!! yeah yeah the top teams had some issues and it was raining. My strategy worked out fine. Overall 10th place. Others racers 13/14th which I think is ok and almost realistic and still challenging. Finally beat my rival Felipe Massa. Now up to Canada. Probably rain again

Before and after patch it works fine. No crashes. Some minor cosmetic glitches but the 'fun factor' in career and time trial is overwhelming.
