Fake Humphrey = Simon Lazenby

Lee McKenzie >>>>> Georgie Thompson

I can only agree, Georgie looks like a tarted up teenager in Essex.

Well she certainly has the eye candy factor as any viewer of The Gadget Show over the last few years will attest to . Whether she has enough F1 knowledge we'll have to see, I've no idea how into it she is.

About the 10 GPs they'll show I'm annoyed they don't have the opener again and it's a bit odd they've got the TBC European race in there when it's looking more and more likely it won't happen. I guess they'll switch back to Monaco in that case.

It's a shame that the trio will no longer be. They had great chemistry between them.

I'm kind of glad that Lee isn't going to present, she's much better at the interviewing/behind the scenes stuff IMO, I do think she's a great part of the BBC set up.

Hopefully Suzi will fit in well and the show doesn't go all rigid (Sky) and that DC and EJ stay on to present as well.

Jake is all right, kind of got used to him but he can't end an interview to save his life.

Suzi does a lot of motorsport over the years on low budget programs/stations. I think she'll fit straight in. Pleased for her actually as she's been doing a hard graft and this is like a reward for all her years presenting.

Funny how Jake is going to some BT vision sport channel via broadband with hardly anyone watching. Looks doomed as a TV service.

Pretty sure it's because his wife is having his child soon and he wants to be at home a lot. Presenting for BT vision is hardly stressful compared to flying around the world every few weeks. Jake is easily better than the MOTD2 host Colin Murray and I think if he wanted to come back to the BBC in the future, he could.

Not to bothered that Jake has gone but Suzi is a slightly odd choice considering they have Lee Mackenzie who has proven to be a decent host in the past and who I'm sure would have liked the position change.

Cant believe they let her go at the Gadget show..she was a great presenter on that...

And MacKenzie is so much more attractive than Suzi Perry.

Oh God yes, those eyes and soothing highland tones! :sly:

MUSC4EVER

Well we all know how THAT decision was made  yeah is was a shame they axed her and the rest.

It's extraordinarily sexist of you to assume that the female hosts have been chosen to please male audiences, and not because of their interests in or knowledge of the sport. Unless you think that Lee McKenzie, Natalie Pinkham, Georgie Thompson and now Suzi Perry all saw the predominantly-male audiences that watch motorsport and figured "Hey, here's a chance to flaunt my boobs on international television, which will get me noticed and then I can have any job I want!", because how on earth could that possibly be demeaning?

For all you know, Suzi Perry is a dedicated fan of Formula 1 and passed on a better job when she learned that Jake Humphrey was leaving the anchor's role.

Realism is not sexism. Notice the visual nature of television? Notice the number of ugly female presenters? Seriously. The fact that is isn't PC doesn't stop it happening.

By the way, Suzi Perry is a bike nut, but she was never needed on MotoGP coverage since her presenting duties could easily be carried out by Matt Roberts.

Realism is not sexism.
Rationalisations are lies that we tell ourselves to convinces ourselves that our opinions are not offensive to others. You can claim that you're "realistic" as much as you like - it won't change the way I found what you said to be deeply sexist.

Saying something because it demeans women is sexist.

Saying something because it is true is called telling the truth whether you like it or not.

Really? Google 'Suzy Perry Thong', you'll change your mind. :P Not to mention the amount of leg she showed every week on the gadget show.

XDXD,I always thought that was really strange on the gadget show,I'm not sad she gone, but if
Bradbury went it just wouldn't be the same.

When I heard Perry was going to do F1 I said to myself,:Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
Humprey did a decent job and kept his composure when Seb Vettel drawn on his shirt,if it were me I would of knocked Seb's block off.:)
We'll see if Perry does a good job but I won't hold my breath.
Lee is good with the interviews,DC wails a bit and EJ goes off on one now and again but I don't mind because I laugh at EJ and DC's fashion sense,or lack of fashion sense.:)

Right, because her looks are so much more important than her ability to host the show or her knowledge of the sport ...

I think you're being a bit naive when it comes to TV company decisions on female presenters.
A lot of female presenters actually fear "ageism" where most male presenters tend to get kept on when they get older and don't look so good.

Not that I'm condoning it..but its pretty obvious TV companies do hire female presenters for looks and usually sex appeal.

Its a fact that any company that has a visual medium that it displays itself on - tends to hire women for looks. However, that usually applies to men too, I mean how many ugly men do you see in adverts for Gillette or whatever?

Good point.

Same as me, the other programs I've seen her in I have found her very annoying to say the least, and kind of cringy to watch. The gadget show for example.
