F12 Berlinetta - arrived 29 Feb 2012

Front looks mega.

Rear three quarter looks......odd.

I do also struggle to see the point of having the same-ish HP as a F1 car, with about ~5% (a guess, but you get teh idea) of the downforce :odd:

Kerb weight is downforce innit? ;)

If this car created as much DF as an F1 car, it's springs would compress so far at speed that the chassis would drag the ground. Do you really think laying 6000+ pounds on top a road car at 200 mph is a good idea? To deal with that kind of downforce, I'd think an F1 car would have spring rates of nearly 2000 pounds per inch, whereas a Corolla might have 200 pound springs and a big heavy Ferrari might have up to 350 pound springs. My Rx7 has 500 pound springs in front and 380 in the rear and it already rides like a tank.

Love the rear, love those two creases on the side, but I really, really don't like that front end grille.

This hasn't been posted here yet, so I will:

Enjoy Massa and Alonso showing how the each is much better at Italian than the other. :P
My favourite second of the video: 0:36 (all of it). I'd say the intake definitely makes up for the Nissan-VQ-esque exhaust...

Thats hilarious, Felipe looks so tiny in that big ole beast! Funny how Alonso got to drive it first... Ouch. Hey Felipe look out! Its Lewis Hamilton coming from behind you in the McLaren Mp412C. OH NO... THEY TOUCHED AGAIN!!!

Ferrari keeps out-doing itself with ugly cars. It's incredible.

not California ugly, but holly hell-ugly indeed.

"It's a beautiful duck. It really is. But you see, it's smiling at me." - Mr. Parker

I just don't like it, it's overpowered, ugly and lost in the Ozone.

It looks like a real car with a terrible bloody awful body kit on top of it.

I am going to have nightmares for the rest of my life now. Thanks.

Thanks a lot.

Most cars, especially supercars will be polarizing. Either you will like it, or you won't. It's expected.

Now, as I stated earlier I think it's gorgeous. Especially from angles not originally offered in the press release shots/renders.

Upon further inspection, it looks like Ferrari channeled the 275 GTB/4 in this vehicle.

Although one could draw many a similarity with Ferrari's vast history of cars.

Side note, it is interesting how similar this looks to the FF, which I wasn't all that fond of, and this one I love. Which in turn has made me reevaluate the FF, which in all honesty is a magnificent car. I always view Ferrari's in a vacuum, and only compare them with what I want in a Ferrari, and against previous Ferrari's, rather than against all other vehicles at the time. When I do that, I start to appreciate the direction the new releases were took it.

It's an 'F1 style' rear foglight.

What's that thing in the middle of the rear end? Did Ferrari reinvent the third pedal?

Which I always thought were friggin sweet.

Anyway, someone PLEASE buy the 1/43 scale model for me. My birthday is this month, after all. :P

To me, this car is made up of competing lines that don't work well on one design.

It looks like a caricature.

The 599 is my preferred modern GT.

They put it there so you can say to your mates: "... it even has a rear diffuser fog light that is inspired by F1 cars, highlighting Ferrari's commitment to bringing the knowledge they learned on the track, into their road-going products. :sly:"

I don't think it works with the lines of the rear, sorry. Not only that, it looks like something that someone would tack onto the rear of his Opel Corsa to look cool.

It's rubbish, IMO. :indiff:

The 1:43 scale model is still the size of a mini cooper. that is one big fast car

It sounds absolutely amazing but what the hell is with that rear fog light? It just looks cheap! It's like something you'd buy from Halfords to stick to your Corsa!

It's amazing Ferrari is getting criticism for it, but people seemed to love it when Nissan threw something similar on the 370Z.

On the 370Z it looked nice cause it as flush with the bumper, on F12 it look as they just stuck it on afterward.

I didn't even know the 370Z had a similar thing on it! But looking on Google it does have one but it's less obvious. It's still stupid though.

That sound is incredible

I don't mind the rear fog light, but it probably would have looked better if it were more integrated into the design, rather than appearing simply stuck on as an afterthought. Something like this:

Wrong Car. This is a Aston Martin and is included in the next FM4 DLC.

This is the back of the New Ferrari
