:eek::eek: Wow, how did you get that!! Do you use manual, I use auto with the sixaxis and I know from fishfash's pace in the championship that it is a lot faster if you can master it?? Thats the only answer I have for those times. I tried your setup, and not putting you down at all but I couldnt get it to work, all I got was a 1.16.4, albeit I am quite tried and only done a few laps, and I'm not use to such a twitchy steering.

As for the world wide lap times, the thread just under this one is about as world wide as I've seen! :sly:

Edit: The first Australian time, its not great and I think I can do a lot better, but I might as well start somewhere:

For BMW and Australia I now give up on doing a great lap. I just can't seem to get my settings right. This will have to do:

1.26,519 (29.183/23.638/33.698) Alltidxx
 
I gave the Budapest Challenge a try, and used the Standard Default set up, I only changed the tyres from Hard > Soft. I was well off the pace, I did a 1:15.1 :nervous:

After reading all these set ups it just seems a bit too daunting and time consuming :crazy:
 
Sixaxis is around 3-4 tenths slower than a wheel,
I use a logitech G25 and what i really do well is throttle control for the exit of the corners escpecially as i use low traction control.

Setup is down to driving style and a setup for me shouldnt work for you but im guessing that the sixaxis wont give you great throttle control for the corners.
Another great example is my interlagos time which is a good one, I do 1.09.1 easily there.

Anyway, we can discuss a lot more after I send a gauntlet down the australian Route ;), As I will be on holliday from tomorrow till Monday !!!!!
I should stay awake all tonight and do the lap !!!
I know that with a ferrari I can do 1:23s without much practice
Lets see if I can beat that with a few hour on a BMW !!!!

just started my australia bmw challenge

but of course as i will be away starting thursday i had to do better
so this is my time for the time being

this is only 2 tenths off my ferrari best so im definately getting better because of this challenge.

Sorry, I am not competing in these weekly TTs. I'm more focused on racing in World Championship mode & (hopefully) improving my PB times there. I want to avoid obsessively rerunning the same track, I'm already doing that in GT5P TTs & I know: that way lies madness! :crazy:

Genius: what racing view do you use with the Sixaxis? I really would recommend a G25 - its an excellent investment. 👍

I use the view just over the drivers helmet. I know I should get a G25 but they are expensive, and I really dont have the space for one right now, maybe when I go to college. But the vast majority dont understand our interest in this and wouldnt understand why I would want something so expensive, so I'm not sure my house mates would be so keen to see it in the living room! :indiff:

Edit: And What The.... Alierza, you actually got a 23 in the BMW :yuck:! I am no were near that, I thought I would get into the mid 24s but a 23 :ouch:.
 
Hey just got F1 championship,this is a lot more difficult than previous F1 editions. I am willing to keep trying though.I've only had about 50 laps and the times are coming down, I'll post this weak time and keep working on setup. By the way this is most enjoyable having others to compare notes and times. 1:27:576>>28:956/24:068/34:543 I always race manual,and I use GT logitech wheel.Hopefully I can improve my times and be more competitive in the future. Changed the setup :crazy:lost 1st sector gained 2nd n 3rd I've tried many subtle >radical changes I really cant see another second&half in final sector but it must be there somewhere I'll keep trying

Anyway right now here's where I'm sitting:

Maybe I'm just being whiny, but sometimes I think that the std controller just doesn't mesh well with certain tracks. I know here at Melbourne I have a 🤬 of a time being consistent with both my track placement and breaking points for the all too critical high speed esses (meaning T's 6 & 9 especially). For me a high 1:25 is possible on a near perfect lap, don't know if I can put one of those together or not though.

Right! Gotta do all the tracks and it is not that Mel sucks so much as the turn in points are just so damn hard to master.

But yes Monaco is much more fun :D
 
Monaco makes me crazy! :crazy:

I've been running through a World Championship & have been stopped at Monaco for a while - in about 15 starts I have yet to finish a race. I qualified first with a fast time, but I realise running one fast lap & completing a whole race fast are two very different things at Monaco. Inevitably, at some point I clip a wall, or get clipped by another car & once you're facing the wrong way at Monaco, you're done! The most annoying thing was when I was leading comfortably 2 laps before the end & I had engine failure! :ouch:

happens to me almost every race... the way they programmed this game must be:

I dunno: I haven't had engine failure very often & I've won quite a lot of races against the AI. But, it happened again last night at Monaco. In three nights of racing I still haven't managed to complete a "Hard" 30% WC race at Monaco! :indiff:

Ofcourse you can join in, I dont plan on turning anyone away, at all.

And if you want Jordan could do with a few points in the championship too, if you feel up to fighting the flawless Glyes, who arrived here just after you went. And yes if you want will change it to Jordan-Spyker. ;)
