My guess is then that the "Formula" rim (the only one we have already seen one the csw) will most likely be the one he uses for both the CSW and CSR E as well. just speculating.
Although i would prefer the f1 generic... But only because i know we CSR E owners wont get the licensed F1.
Thomas could you make it the F1 generic for the CSRE Formula wheel?!!

From Thomas blog:

For the CSR Elite wheel we will introduce the Formula rim for sure and depending on the success of this add-on we will release a GT rim as well. The electronics of the CSR Elite wheel are limited so we cannot have a proper quick release, rev light indicators, analog joystick, encoder switches or the same amount of buttons like on the CSW rims. The CSR E rims have to follow exactly the same specs as the original wheel.

Your guess is probably right.

i want to know what the estimated release date of the F1 rim is and if this is one of the wheels under development.

I don't want to buy the CSW with the formula rim and finding out that a "real" F1 wheel is released two months later.

If We have to wait another year, i buy the formula rim anyway.

Interested to see peoples preferences. I think that a GT rim would make more sense, F1 is just one game, ok there are other games with formula cars, but the majority of gamers play games that would benefit from a GT rim.

A 900 degree steering wheel deserves a round wheel, no need to be licensed, just a generic GT style rim is all that I would like to see, same adjustable paddle shifters as CSW would be a bonus.

A bit irrelevent, look a few posts above at thomas' order of product releases.

Fanatec list of priorities from Thomas's comment on his blog.

CSW with rims
CSP V2
CSS
CSR E FORMULA rim
CS HB

All us CSRE owners need to know. And i bet Thomas has probably already got his mind made up about the rim he will use for both types already.

will there be a kit to transform the CSPs into the V2 version?

That question has already been asked, but sadly (if I recon right) still with no answer. I second your point, as as many of us I also own a quite new set of CSPs and won't get new pedals soon.
An upgrade kit as it was offered for the GT3 RS would be the 'money maker' (I think the most of us would buy it.

Thomas, irgendwelche Pläne? (any plans)

About the release order:
I'm quite sad, that the CSH will come that late. As a 90% rally simer I need a handbrake.
My wish list: CSW, CSS/CSH, CSP V2 and also an upgrade kit for V1.

Of course the CSS can be used as handbrake (instead of upshifting) and downshifting seq up, but then I have to upshift with the paddles. This is how I use it now, but it isn't an optimal solution.

Any chance the CSH will arrive sooner? Or can you tell an aprox date for the CSH Thomas?

Thomas can you tell us what date we can pre-order the CSW .... PLEASE bitte bitte bitte bitte

Happy Easter to you all racers =)

The formula rim is way down on his list and hasn't started production yet, so if demand is high for a different rim first, it might sway his decision, worth a try if the formula rim isn't your first choice.

I posted this to 911wheel blog about CSW rim options:

"Amount of buttons: same number of buttons as with CSR-E wheel (including the d-pad)
Amount of shifter paddles (analog and/or buttons): One pair rotating with wheel
Material of rim: Non flexible plastic with black leather cover
Material and colours of the inner rim: Aluminum non painted
Diameter: 340mm round rim
Weight: I do not know
Target price: 120 - 200€
No make stickers

This could be the theme also for CSR-E optional rim."

I will start round 3 in about 10 minutes tops. Give me a moment to prepair, thank you.

Edit: this is taking longer then expected. Hold on... just the last 3 folks I have to put in.

Does anyone know what type potentiometers fanatec standard pedals use? I got idea to aquire similar spec for my g25 pedals to mod them to be compatible with CSW.

New firmware version 737 for the CSR and the CSR Elite can be dowloaded here:

http://www.forzalife.de/2012/04/fanatec-csr-csr-elite-firmware-737/

This firmware update was hidden on thomas blog as a easter egg.

I was not able to find it on the blog itself, but google was my best friend:)

No info on the changes yet

$135 clubsport pedals but the csr elite is $600? Must be some price changes in the works. These wheels just keep getting higher in price as we go.

Guys that site is still incomplete with mockup prices. Or do you guys really believe the CSW base is for free? ;)

I would not order anything there. I have not tested the site, but i assumed you can't order anything there.

If you can, just don't

Don't order anything on that site yet! I doubt it's fully working,

Use fanatec.com

You guys are correct. Don't order anything!
The reason the site is on a 'weird' domain name is because it is unfinished. This site will (most likely) be transferred to the domain "Fanatec.com". So until that time just simply look but don't use the site.

not sure where you saw CSW base is for free...? and who in their right mind would think that. But yeah, prices don't make sense.

amf7- reason I'm asking is because the main Fanatec site does not have the Csp's in stock and this one does...confusing really.

ok, I won't order anything from that site then unless Fanatec confirms it.

Ah, guess that was the eu site. But still... It's a weird domain to host a companies website. Weird though that they didn't password protect it.
