Since all the pricing for CSW and intro rims has all but been confirmed, do we have pricing info on shifter yet? I thought Thomas was shooting for $100. Is that still accurate speculation?

The CSR Elite wheel is already predrilled with two threated holes for mounting something like ipod/phone holder.Since there is no saying when Fanatec will make one, i decided to make one myself today:

Just to give you guys an idea of how a phone holder on the CSR Elite or CSW could look.:)

Looking good.

I may use this area for a timing display of some sort. I'm thinking of getting something along the lines of the Symprojects DLC24-7 and having it like there demo video.

Selling my CST pedals and CSR-Elite wheel finally.

Can't wait to replace them with the CSP V2's and CSW!

(The CST pedals won't fit on my new cockpit)

Thomas already laid everything out pretty clearly on his blog:

Regarding CSW:
We will start shipping in May so the first wheels will arrive in our warehouses in June. We will not airship units this time. The pre-orders will start soon but I want the wheels on the boat so we know when they arrive.

Regards CSP v2s:
The CSP V2 will be shipped together with the ClubSport Wheel and we expect the first shipment in USA, EU and AUS in June. We will start taking pre-orders from our new website in May.

I am starting to get pretty excited about the upcoming reviews these days. I really wonder what the impression will be from fellow testers. I can not wait to read the reviews and then of course the impressions later on by people who buy the first few batches. The reason I am so excited is because I already know what everyone will be getting in terms of performance of this product line. :)

Is everyone as excited already? I wonder?

I think I will write a bit more of my review after dinner. ^_^

I can't explain my own situation but ive not got that excited yet about the wheel. I felt more excited about it last year.

Perhaps the CSRE had all the intrigue of the new chassis and metal construction. Okay the rims on the CSW will be great but I'm curious and wondering what the CSW offers with its additional interface options in PC games?

Not much has been released about this yet so it is hard to get excited about this element of the wheel. Maybe it is something the beta wheels will not of had finalised for testers as well?

Part of me is wary as I would want the CSW, only when the drivers are not "Beta" it should not release with still in development drivers. So I hope Fanatec have a fully feature rich and mature driver ready for this their highest end product. I think the is an area of importance not to have disgruntled customers who should expect high things from this product.

Although I still commend Fanatec on their efforts the past year I wish Thomas and the team every success in providing such products to us gamers and sim fans alike.

Please tell me more .............. =)

You know I can't tell you guys anything or Thomas will have my head. Even though I want to so very bad. Although I think I can tease you guys a bit...

So I will leave with the word "evolution" though. You guys figure out and discuss what has exactly evolved. You have all seen the vids and pics.

Also feel free to talk about the damper on the V2. I wonder if anyone here has RC car knowledge but maybe he or she can talk with you all about the different oils for that shock on the V2 and how it could or will change the feel.
It's all to do with compression. More compression is less dampening and less compression of the oil is more dampening. So the thicker the oil the harder you have to push the brake. ;)

I'd love to answer a few but can not at this point in time. Your concerns are noted though and everyone is working hard to make things happen currently. Let us hope it will all come together nicely in time. Which is something Thomas has to supervise of course. Also I am sure the reviewers will have their fair share of input as well before release.

Please do not tease to much before I have received my CSR Elite !

I am sure I do not want the Clubsport Wheel. Yes I am sure !!! I have to be strong... I have to be strong... Breath... Breath...

My only concern, and its not even really a concern, is the CSW's price point. Its in this odd pace where it is substantially more than the T500RS (considering its pedals are crap, adding some CSPs or CSREPs would bring it closer), a little more than the CSRE, and less than the Frex/ECCI (spec'd with CSPv2 and the GT rim. A lot less w/o those items). Will people find enough value in the QR system and the rims (vs the CSRE w/ its xbox compatibility)?

I think it is safe to say, based on the CSRE, its going to be a great wheel. If you are curious as to how great, just read some of the CSRE reviews and then ignore the parts about the wheel rim.

The real question is durability. This is something that will only be evident a year, two years from now. The reason so many people buy logitech G27s is because it is a proven product. Talking with some people who build sim rigs for corporate clients the T500RS is their next choice, but the G27 is the most common. Whether peoples complaints are based in statistical fact or not, Fanatec's reliability reputation could use some bolstering. If the CSW proves to be rock solid then I think things like the price or 360 compatibility won't matter.

The value and price point. I think. It really depends per individual. If you only play one sport or just never see the need to change rims, I doubt a QR system looks interesting apart from a gimmick perspective. However if you really like to switch a lot between different types of cars then the QR and many rims can be quite handy. Quick and easy way to get more realism and immersion out of your gaming experience I think.

This reliability has to still show for the entire new base model, so both CSR E and CSW.
When it comes to reliability of the load cell on the CSP, I think this will be greatly increased as the load cell doesn't have to take the brunt of the forces but the shock absorber on the V2 will. The V1 had just a simple small spring and the foam to take the brunt of the forces.
But yeah, time will have to tell.

CSW is going to be a no-brainer purchase. If I did not have a CSR-E already I would be ordering that wheel.

I tried switching back to my T500rs. Still awesome. But still faster with the CSR-E.

CSW is going to kill it.

Just waiting on the tester review from Mayaman, etc. Let's do this!

I just want to add this video as you guys might find this interesting soon. ;)

Edit: forgot part 1

I am curious as to how it will stack up against a better wheel like the Frex/Ecci/Bodner reather than a lower value wheel like the G27. Do you have any experience with any of these wheels to be able to do a proper comparison? That will get me excited about a review more than telling me how much better it is over a cheaper wheel.

Best wheel I tried was the T500 with both rims. Plus of course I know how my Lancia Delta drives in real life. So those are the only comparisons I could make, with the latter being the real goal for any sim game and wheel... Replicating reality. Plus I am a beta tester so my review will be slightly less valuable anyway I would imagine. ;)

Embargo will be over at Thomas his discretion as CEO of Fanatec.
The site I reckon will end up at Fanatec.com I reckon as it would be weird to have a company site not under the company's name. Still... could be hosted under doowakadoodle.com for all I know. lol
