I just wish Thomas would say something in advance. Something simple like "ordering will start on our new website on....." or "watch my blog 911wheel.de for details"

It just sucks being COMPLETELY in the dark.

Yeah I agree, something should be said. I will concur with the "hot" comment though.

I just hope that the clubsport wheel is not too much better than the Elite :)
I have to focus on Clubsport pedals, then on clubsport shifter...

All I will say is that I became disappointed in the T500 when I helped my dad with a round in GT Academy. ;)
The T500 has a noisy tiny fan which is barely enough to cool the wheel. I smell a distinctive burned electronics smell from my T500 every time (Shogy/my dad uses it now), though it still works (knocks it off on wood). The effects are still not on par with my G25 even though the transmission of the forces from motor to wheel is obviously far better. And I could go on but just read that Friday since I will most likely hit some points with my CSW opinion included.

Sorry for going off topic talking about the Logitech and Thrustmaster gear in a Fanatec thread.

The main answers I’m looking for are:

1. Does the CSW emulate the Logitech G25/27 for PS3 games? GT-5/F-1 2011/Dirt2-3
2. Does the Clubsport V2 pedals work with the CSW hooked up to the PS3? I know they probably do, but how well do they work and do any of the calibration methods used within the game recognize the wheel and pedals or is calibration done through the wheel?
3. Lastly, forget about the cost of the hardware, is the CSW wheel better overall compared to a Logitech G25/27 when playing GT-5 or F1 2011?

I am itching to answer those, but I really do not know what you mean by calibration?
Calibration has not been necessary since the introduction of digital input controllers. The analog controlers used to have 2 sliders to calibrate a joystick for example. One for every axis. This was when you still had to use the "Gameport" which was still on your soundcard, instead of the now common USB port.

However, if you mean if GT5 supports Fanatec wheels like it does the Thrustmaster T500 and Logitech G25/27, then I can already say that no Fanatec wheels are officially supported by GT5 to this date. I can only hope that PD changes this, but until that time you will have to edit the G25 profile for any Fanatec wheel you use with it.

Besides, the G25 emulation on the Fanatec wheels is necessary for games that do not officially support the Fanatec SDK. The reason for choosing the G25 emulation over any other wheel or even the G27 would be that the G27 does not support a sequential shifter. With the G25 you get both support for sequential and H-pattern (6+R) shifters.

Also as long as any Fanatec pedals are hooked up to any Fanatec wheel they will work flawlessly on the PS3 with any game. There is no calibration needed. The only thing you could adjust for the pedals is the ABS motor on the ClubSport Pedals for example, which has to be done via the "ABS" setting in the wheel menu.

Also about your last question? What do you think? I think the answer is obvious. The quality of Fanatec's driver is at least on par with Logitech's driver (though a few bugs still remain, you can check the latest via HoiHman's link above). So that would leave only the difference in the way FFB transmits from the motor to the rim. And we all know that the belt drive system is far better then any gear driven system and much more direct. Now couple this with my previous post about the T500 and you will find the answer. ;)

Thanks Logiforce :)
Precisely the answers I was looking for, especially regarding how FFB transmits to the wheel :) In my industry belt cars and gear driven shaft cars have the opposite effect. Belt cars are sluggish in acceleration, but are better when transitioning from left to right, while shaft drive gear driven cars have better and more direct throttle feel. From the videos I've seen of Thomas showing off the CSW it looks to be very smooth like the Elite :)
Looking very forward to your in depth review ;)
Make it as long and heavy as you want. Some of us might have fat pipes at home. Lol

It's going to be tough retiring my tried and true first gen G25 :P

I just had to repair my G25 after it went off center. What happened was that the code wheel on the back of the motor broke at one of the 3 plastic welding seams. So it is NOT the screws that go loose. ;)
Of course after using Pattex 100% glue on one seem with a needle to get it in between, the others gave way as the glue was stronger then the seems. lol

Oh and about the review... without optimization and unfinished it is now over 1GB in size. I doubt you would want that. haha ;)

I am making it an all nighter to finish this the way I want to finish it. Plus I also still need to upload all the stuff. I forgot to make a couple of pictures. Most of all I need to still make it forum friendly so that the text of my review will generate hits with search sites like Google. ;)

IGB? No problem :) 15-20 minutes tops to download. ;) Thank you Cox Communications for the fat pipe. Lol

I totally understand about making it just right. I write articles for our website all the time with our products and there's always something like an extra few pictures or text that can make all the difference :)

I've been lucky with my G25. Works perfect. Just need it to survive until CSW's, F1 rim and of course the BMW rim with CSP V2's go on pre-order.
Hope they made enough. Lol
Get some sleep!

It became very quiet around firmware 742b. Wanted to update yesterday, because I felt FM4 got a little flat after the last update, but even the file is not available anymore.
I'm very happy with my Elite, but the information policy of Fanatec on products and updates is close to non existing, or maybe the process is just that slow ;)
Anyways, still waiting on news of the CSS, CSP V2 and CSH.
@Thomas, wann geht's los??

Once the embargo is up, can someone answer if the CSW will come with the adapter for logitech pedals. I only have enough for base & one rim so im keeping my G27 for a now.

Just uploaded the file, you can download it here;

The CSR Elite does not have a adapter in the box, either so:

I can garantee you it will not come with the adapter, you have to buy it seperatly in the store

Also I would like to advice people to first look for a reviewer that has tried the adapter to see if the pedals already work on the CSW. I am not sure myself about this since I do not have an adapter at hand, so I can't test it. Sorry.

I am sure Mayaman has tried his G25 pedals on the CSW by now though. ;)

I don't think this is against the rules. It does not come with the adaptor. Secondly, well I'll leave that for Friday night.

You are in texas right? Then you need to be posting 6 hours before 1 PM (GMT+1) as you are 6 hours behind me.

So you 'need to/can' post the review at 7am Friday morning. ;)

Thanks a lot, will try it tonight.

Btw, I found an emblem for the wheel.
E60 airbag, fits perfect and very easy to remove ;)

That's nice, love to see a picture. 👍

I still have to find one, but i'm gonna order the CSW too, which also has the emblem off course :D

Unfortunately, I work for a hedge fund and its impossible for me to post this until later on Friday. I'm at work an average of 14 hours as I'm the lead support person for our offices in Singapore/Shanghai/and USA. So basically I get calls at all times of the night and get an average of 4 hours of sleep a night. Sorry to disappoint guys, but real world duties here are brutal. :(

I'll try my best to get this out earlier.

I'm in Connecticut, not Texas. :)

My sincere appologies for having the wrong location in my head.

I understand the difficulties. We will look forward to it whenever. Which makes me think that I better start to finish this up, else we won't have anything at all tomorrow at embargo end here at GTP. :nervous:

I'm excited for the embargo to be lifted, but dangit, I already know I want to order it.

THOMAS PUT THE ORDERING PAGE UP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! PLEASE!

LOL, I try not to beg much, but this is getting ridiculous. Just let us give you our damn money!

It will be lifted tomorrow; Friday June 29th at 13.00 German time (GMT+1 / CEST)

Won't that be GMT+2? Assuming GMT is the same as UTC as we (I'm not sure if it's just Europeans or other nationalities) are 1 hour ahead due to summer time.

Please forgive me if I'm wrong though, all the time zones can get confusing.

I'm thinking of picking up the CSR Value Pack XL. Do you guys have any advice or feedback?

I'm upgrading from a DFGT and while I'd love a CSR Elite it's just too expensive. As I understand the CSR is pretty much the best Xbox-compatible wheel on the market, excluding the Elite.
