Thank you very much for your information.
I haven’t had Fanatec’s products until now. Nowadays I have a Logitech G27.
I’m Brazilian. I will go to NY on 10/October this year and I intend to buy a CSW base with both wheels and CSP v2. But, I have afraid to buy Fanatec’s products, because in Brazil there isn’t FANATEC Community/ Support Agent. It's too complicate.
I do not think there are any stores in the US where you can purchase their wheels and they have them in-stock. You need to order online as far as I know and they ship if they have it in stock. If they won't ship to Brazil you might want to see if you can order online and arrange it be delivered to where you are staying in NY.

You will be taking a gamble, you just have to hope you're not gonna have any issues.

You can't go wrong with the CSPv2, but the CSW i would not buy without any warranty on it. The Fanatec products are great, when they are working :D

I have friends in Brazil who buy Fanatec stuff through someone in USA, here are my thoughts.

Like mikemav said you would have to have the stuff sent to someone that could get it to you during the window for your visit to NY. Thats risky for you because if there is a snag somewhere due to shipping/lack of stock issues you won't get your stuff.

The other option is to have someone send the stuff to you from USA, but as you know Brazilian customs are very expensive. USPS Priority is the best way to send because DHL/FEDEX/UPS air to Brazil costs a fortune. It costs over $800 via Air for CSW/CSR BMWR/CSP V.2 to Brazil by FEDEX, but USPS Priority runs about $270 for the three boxes, give or take a few bucks.

And yes you are right that its complicated by the fact there is no Fanatec support in Brazil, if you should have some unforeseen issue that requires warranty replacement you will have to send the product back to Fanatec's USA fullfillment center in La Mirada, California.

Then the replacement from Fanatec would have to be sent to whoever your designated contact in USA is, that entity would then have to send the product down to you in Brazil.

If the unforeseen issue can be rectified with a replacement part, Fanatec will also have to send the part(s) to your designated contact in USA who will then have to send it to you in Brazil.

So in your case its a bit more risky because of the added expense if you should need parts or replacement. Its probably cheaper in most cases to just purchase another new product if you need warranty replacement with exception of maybe the CSW Base/CSR E because you have to pay two-way shipping to and from USA and then customs for the replacement.

Also the time involved is pretty lengthy, it takes about 3 weeks to receive something from USA by the time it clears Brazil customs. So in the case of a return you are looking at close to 2x that time.

I would also suggest you have the person you elect to ship it to you from the USA test all the product before it ships to you. If a problem occurs you can save time getting the issue resolved.

I'm not sure if the formula rims are in stock yet. The csw base and bmw rim said not it stock until september but I ordered them 2 weeks ago and got the tracking number the next day. Now they say in stock but not the formula rim. I'm going to order mine in a week or two because I've read some post from a couple guys on the iracing forums that have already ordered the formula rim and haven't got their tracking numbers yet.

How is the formula1 steering wheel of the CSW compared to the BMW one?
Promised that I drive GT cars can I use it with GT cars?hihii yes I know that I can use it but how does it feel(the F1 wheel)with GT cars?
I'm doing this questions because I'm thinking to order the CSW base with the formula 1 wheel(almost 600euro) that is the budget that I have for the new wheel!

Hello. Good idea, but I think I will not have time.
I will buy by internet and I will receive at the Hotel in NY, therefore I need to order as soon as possible. I will stay there during five days, between 10 and 15/ October.

Well it depends. If you play games like GT5 and like drifting, sliding or using opposite lock, the Formula Rim is probably not the best choice. This is pretty obvious because it has no top or bottom to grab on to.

If you drive GT cars in PC sims and set up your car with a tight steering rack then the Formula rim is fine.

I would contact Fanatec and tell them you would like the wheel to be sent out the week (maybe week and a half) before you arrive. Then tell the hotel that you will be receiving a package their address and to please hold and notify you when it arrives.

Got my CSW replacement. Seems to be working fine, sort of. Sounds a bit different that my test unit (a little louder). The kick back when you reach the rotation limit only vibrates when you turn the wheel all the way to the right. If you go all the way to the left, it just kinda feels like it is running into a sponge. IDK does not affect gameplay so I do not care. FFB is fine, quick release seems to fit my test wheels better, and my angled bracket is not crooked.

Thomas is asking in his blog what we want in a driver, you go and post your requests and hope we can have some awesome new features in the next driver release :)

Something similar to the TM driver ....Click the driver, it asks you to plug in the device you want to update, click next, and your good to go

Is there any review out there of the final version? I want to know if the problems are fixed, for example in a review there was compains of the paddleshifters on the BMW rim and it was hard to take it off.

Has anyone in North America received their CSW Formula rim replacement springs for the shifter paddles? I received an email from Fanatec that the springs were being prepared for shipment and a tracking number would be issued when available; that was > 1 week ago.
thanks!

Hello, been out for a while, popping in to ask if there is any news about any new CSW rims lately? Specifically waiting for anything F1. Either generic or replica.

I PMed someone about this not too long ago. With my CSR.

What screws do I take out to tighten the alcantara?

I think the next thing we will see will be the CSS and this is just a guess, but Christmas would be a more than reasonable time scale?

hmm, okay nothing has changed then. be back in a couple more months then, lol.

Before you go, let me wish you a happy halloween and a merry Christmas. You see, I doubt I will see you again before New Years if you say things like that. So enjoy yourself during the holidays mate. Hahaha ;)

So there I was playing F1 2011 on my PS3 and I finally did it. I broke the spring on the left paddle shifter on the F1 rim. :ouch:
Oh well, they knew it was a issue. Time to send them (FANATEC) a quick email about getting a replacement. =)
