We actually plan a service pack for CSW users so that you can send in the CSW and we make a complete overhaul and replace critical parts. In any case it will be possible to buy all major spare parts like motors and belts in the future.

That's good to hear, I hope this expands also to the CSR Elite.

I to have had my shopping cart filled waiting to pull the trigger lol And this is very reassuring news from Fanatec. A service pack is great for piece of mind. And a two year warranty is also great to hear, I didn't know about that either :-) Just the small issue of funds clearing in my account, tomorrow hopefully and I will be adding some Fanatec gear to my rig.

That's great news Thomas! All my CSW gear is working very nicely and a service pack adds great value to the gear.
Will we have the option to buy all the parts in your overhaul package to do the work ourselves? Some of us are handy and mechanically inclined, so doing the work ourselves is no problem.

Lastly, any idea when the new firmware will be made available? We're ready for some LED action for GT5 and F1 2012 on the PS3 :-)

Thomas,

Would this service pack also include product changes / improvements that were made during the production process? So that a overhauled CSW is technically equal to a newly manufactured CSW at that time, with all the improvements that are made during the evolving production process.

Take for example the CSR Elite: The first production waves had optibelt belts, they are now replaced by shorter gates belts.

This makes too much sense.

They ship you a whole new shifter assembly with Allen keys, but it would be easier to have the proper length keys. The ones they send are short and it will take time to exchange the assembly.

I received the package last night with the new shifter assemblies. The package did not contain any instructions on how to replace the shifters. Is there a file or vid somewhere on how to do this? Or is it easy to see how to do the replacement once I take a close look at the wheel? I will dig into it this weekend.
:)

I never got any video but it is simple enough when you open it. Only problem is like other had said that the keys are too short and it is easier when you have longer keys but just have to have some patience.

Good news indeed. Any plans for a similar option for CSR E wheels?

I sent my V2 pedals and CSW back to Fanatec last week,, as my pedals wasn't working with my PS3, they were returned to me on Monday and to my delight everything is now working fine and the REV lights are working with my PS3, happy days.

Hey, i am in a simliar situation to you, i could not get the csw and v2 pedals to work through the ps/2 connection on the ps3(or on the pc)

Could you get the pedals to work on the pc when you were connected through the csw?
I sent back the csw last week but they said it was fine so i'm in the process of sending the pedals back now.

I was thinking that maybe the fault was with my pc and ps3,would be a relief to hear if your situation is similar!

I don't have a pc so not sure if they would have worked. However when connected through the USB cable to my laptop all the pedals registered in the pedals properties menu. Fanatec had sent PCB replacements for the CSW base and for V2 pedals but this did not resolve the issue. I was able to use the wheel and used the buttons on the BMW rim for accelerator and brake. I presume you installed the driver and firmware into the CSW base 32/16? I then used the G25 wheel in the PS3 options menu to assign buttons. If you have done the above them it sounds as if the base maybe the problem. I would doubt that the problem lies with your PC and PS3

Whilst I was extremely frustrated not being able to use the pedals, Johannes at Fanatec was very helpful and after a number of emails, videos and a phone call they requested both pedals and base be returned. The returned my gear in the same boxes with the same pedals, on the same day they received them, but unsure if the base had been replaced.

Hopefully they will resolve the issue for you.

Thanks for the reply Bonio71:)

That's more or less the same as me,pedals worked perfect when used through the usb on pc.(laptop)
I have been through multiple pcb's for the csw and pedals too, with latest firmware 32/16 and driver 132 at the time. When they tested the wheel I was told that the pc driver I should be using is 1.4 which I think was released at the end of August, but I had the kit nearly 6 weeks by that stage and never updated from 132,maybe this would have helped with the pc but I cannot see it solving the ps3 problem.

FWIW, I could not get my CSPV2s to work on the PC when they were plugged into the CSW. The pedals work on my PC only when I plug them directly into the PC USB port. Not a problem for me because I stopped playing GT5 after discovering iRacing and NetKarPro on the PC!

Yeah, I also received my Paypal invoice. Which is automatic everytime I use Paypal because they take the money out right away.
On monday I would expect for them to send me some kind of invoice. A shipping today or at least a shipping soon email:ouch:

I hope they have enough wheels in stock because i ordered mine saturday morning. I also hesitated a lot before deciding to buy it, mostly because i have a gt3 rs paperweight that i really didn't like. Then again i love my clubsport pedals(which also cause grief every now and then) so i hope it aint al bad:)
It's going to be a nice upgrade to my g25 that has given me years of great service. Being a gt fan i ordered it with the bmw rim, can't wait to finally try it after watching so many reviews and youtube video's.

Now that I have Sir Stirling Moss on my BMW rim I want to get as many legendary drivers to sign it as possible. Right now my big goal is Mario Andretti and Sir Jackie Stewart. After that I am going to focus on famous BMW drivers. I do not think I would be able to sell it though.

When I go to Martinsville at the end of the month for the Nascar race, I will have a HOT pass to be in the pit/garage area. I hope to get the BMW rim signed by Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, & a few others if I can.

Received my tracking info and Scheduled Delivery: 09-October-2012. Wish Fanatec offered faster options for shipping instead of only standard delivery. I'm sure many would pay the difference.

Cool , I'm still waiting for any kind of response from them . Hopefully I'll get it next week as well, I wouldn't mind paying for expedited shipping so that I can start racing sooner .

That's annoying mate. I got an email yesterday that my order was to be shipped and that I would receive a tracking number via email. Although I don't think it's in transit yet, as the tracking number just brought up details saying that a label has been issued
Suppose I should be grateful knowing that it will be here next week :) It was quite a shopping list for one purchase.

Hope you hear from them soon. I thought that shipping in the states was pretty quick, good chance you could be using your gear before me
