Do you have a mod kit make it work with consoles?

No. To be honest I gave up on console racers after GT5 came out. I built a pc and have never looked back.

So i've only seen a couple of comments on the shift lights working now with GT5? Is the Gear indicator light also working? Anyone seen a video of this? I'm thinking of ordering it today, mostly play GT5 at the moment, but plan to built out a PC Rig in the near future.

My CSW, F1 rim, BMW GT2 rim, CSP V2'S and CSR SS all came a day early! Really pleased with my purchase, the wheel really does feel special. My rev lights aren't working in GT5 which is a bumer, but I'm sure it's just a matter of updating the firmware? Just waiting on my Elite to be delivered now lol

Congratulations mate 👍

Looking forward to read your findings in the next couple of days.

Rev lights do not work in GT5 because that game does not officially support Fanatec wheels and thus does not have the Fanatec SDK. Because of this you need to use PS3 mode, which means the Fanatec wheels emulate the Logitech G25, which does not have rev lights.
The G27 is not emulated because then you would lose the ability to use a sequential shifter in PS3 mode.

I recently stated that my BMW GT rim revs lights work with GT5, after the base was updated with firmware 35.

Well, it's been reported that the newer wheels and bases are showing up with 35/17 firmware. If you have a PS3 and you're playing GT5 or F1 2012 you will now see the REV LED's function.

I fellow owner in another thread posted he sent his gear for repair. (In London) He received his stuff back and his LED's now work with both games :-)

Those of us who have first shipment rims and bases are still waiting for FANATEC to post the new firmware so we too can enjoy some LED functionality :-)

Thomas...when? Lol

Thanks mate, I'll Send you a msg in a few days once I've had a few miles on it. But first impressions are very very good 👍👍

I only mentioned about the lights as some seem to have theirs working in GT5. Firmware is 17 on mine so thought it was worth mentioning. It would have been nice, but is not a deal breaker :)

Interesting that the CSW emulates a G25, which has no SDK support for LED's, yet Thomas is promoting the LED functionality for F1 2012 on his BLOG, which also emulates a G25 within the Codemasters game.

Very confusing stuff =)

Maybe Thomas changed something. I dunno. Up until fw 32 it was the G25 for sure in PS3 mode, but maybe they changed it to G27 with fw 35 and internally hooked up the sequential shifter to the respective shifter paddles (as to omit the no seq. Shifter being present issue on the G27 originally)
I hope Thomas can clarify it a bit.

What I would want to know is how does this all work now? Is F1 2012 on ps3 natively supporting the CSW with the SDK? And does GT5 natively support the CSW as well or is that still PS3 mode? If it is PS3 mode, which wheel is emulated?

Yep. I was thinking the same thing. FW 35 either supports the G27 emulation or Codie's and PD added Fanatec support. I highly doubt PD would add support, but I hope I'm wrong.
I do know the PS3 version of F1 2012 is due to receive a patch soon for some fixes and tweaks. Maybe that adds Fanatec Native support?
The big mystery is when will Thomas release FW 35? :-)

Thomas? Hello... ;-)

On start up my wheel says 29, 17. So does that mean it's firmware 29, and it's not got the newer updated one that Bonio has? I would assume that this firmware will be available for everyone soon?

Yes that means the base has firmware 029 and the rim has firmware 017. The latest that's out for the base is firmware 032. It's available on the fanatec website under the support section.

Thanks mate, I'll update then

My wheel will be here tomarrow. :) Cant wait to try it out. I just wish Fanatec wouldnt of sent it by stagecoach and actually put it on a motorized vehicle. It has to be the slowest delivery Ive ever gotten, but atleast its finally in ohio.

Mine too, can't wait. What part of ohio are you in, and what are you going to be attaching your wheel to.

Im about 20 miles south of Cedar Point. Im hooking it up to a playseat evo with triple screens. I just made a wooden table type thing that sits a bit higher than my wheel mount and set my monitors on it. Its not pretty but it does the job. :sly: I cut a notch out of the front the shape of the wheel mount (although its bigger than the wheel mount) so I can get the center monitor about 20" from me. Made it out of a spare sheet of plywood and some 1x4s for the legs.

I'm undecided whether to buy an Elite or a CSW? I quite like the Elite with the F1 rim, however, both the rim and the wheel are unavailable on the site at the moment? Did fanatec ever get back to users with a release date for the Elite F1 rim?

Do you think there is much difference between the Elite (with an F1 rim) and a CSW with an F1 rim... I know the Elite won't have the flashy lights etc.. But I mean is their (do you think there eill be) a difference in overall feeling etc between these 2 models?

I'll be using this on consoles mainly, hence my need for the Elite... But to be honest, I'd rather buy the CSW, however it has no Xbox support d I currently don't have a wheel fr my 360.

Also, I read somewhere that someone one tried to mod the sequential CSR shifter into a handbrake, anyone know if this was ever achieved? Is it possible to just map the shifter (in game settings) to activate the hand break hike still using the shifters on the wheel?

Sorry for all the questions :)

My CSW and rims arrived late yesterday so I wasn't able to try it out till this morning. I upgraded the firmware and quickly mounted it to my rig. I have been just driving around it in GT5 without any setting changed and wow:tup:👍
The BMW rim is larger than my MOMO I had on my G27 so my driving felt a little off at first but the smile on my face this wheel gives me just won't go away:bowdown: I'm also glad my Perfect Pedal works great with it. Going to take a break , wipe off the drool and route the wires neatly now:dopey:

👍 It definitely gives you an ear to ear grin :)
Congrats!!

I would think that regardless of what wheel it emulates or what wheel you use the REV signal is still being put out by GT5. It's just a matter of tapping into to it. If that's the case hopefully they can tap into the "quick driver settings menu" that's used with the DFGT and it's red dial:idea: That would allow you to adjust the cars on the fly without having to pause or back out of the race.

Map a second contorller to use "red dial" functions. I mounted a ps move navigation controller next to my shifter for this purpose.
