Glad to see people getting their wheels and rims. I've had my CSW and GT rim for a minute but my formula rim just arrived. Started wearing gloves just so I wouldn't mess up the Alcantara on the rims :P

Curious, anyone have firmware 17 on their BMW rim? Mine came with 16 but my Formula rim arrived with 17 installed.

Enjoy your hardware guys. Toys R Fun!! :D

Well, it's been reported that the newer wheels and bases are showing up with 35/17 firmware. If you have a PS3 and you're playing GT5 or F1 2012 you will now see the REV LED's function.

I fellow owner in another thread posted he sent his gear for repair. (In London) He received his stuff back and his LED's now work with both games :-)

Those of us who have first shipment rims and bases are still waiting for FANATEC to post the new firmware so we too can enjoy some LED functionality :-)

Thomas...when? Lol

I think we are waiting on the 35/17 fireware update for the REV LED's functions......is the 35 for the CSW Base and the 17 is for the Rims ?

A customer can't update the rims. Special equipment is needed.

I got my CSW and BMW rim today and I must say Im very impressed. Catching slides in iracing is so much easier now. In fact I was sliding on purpose just for the fun of it. The ffb is nice after some tweaking in iracing to get what I liked. FFB offset is curently set at 0.010000, but might drop it to all zero. The rim is very nice, better than I thought it would be, was disapointed the leds didnt work but then found Fanaleds and all is good. Im going to have to get used to the bigger rim though Im still half a second slower, but I only got about 2 hours of racing in. I highly suggest downloading the template if you need to drill holes that was a real nightmare on my playseat. Its a real pain to get all 4 holes lined up with the base attached to the bracket also. All in all Im a very happy sim racer so far. :)

Congrats fatkrakr! Glad everything arrived without issue and you are happy. Took me awhile to get used to the bigger BMW rim also but the feel is awesome.

Glad you found Fanaleds, a must for Fanatec wheels. It used to bother me not seeing the LCD screen or REV leds active, although it seems like some new titles will support the lights without the need for Fanaleds, i.e. F1 2012 and PCars.

A quick question guys, When I have my abs on their is no vibration from the shock setting in the wheel. If I turn off the Abs and press the accelerator then the wheel vibrates. Is this normal the two not working together?

Is your pedal-set connected to the wheel? If not, there is no ABS vibration (without using 3rd party plugins)

That's how mine is. (ABS off / shock on) When I step on the throttle the wheel motors vibrate in relation to how much the throttle is depressed. I took it as engine reving vibrations lol

Has anyone had any issues with the 32 firmware on their csw's? Since updating to it I'm getting a burning smell from the base. Can I reinstall the old firmware some how to see if this is the reason??

Hi Mark,

I think you're smelling the belts breaking in. A new Elite has that same smell

You should be fine :)

Ive had mine for a couple days with no smells. I also updated to 32. Ive probably only got 4 hours of use so far.

Also Im trying to get rid of the light feeling over the center of the wheel. Has anyone got settings for iracing that does this? I can get rid of it somewhat, but than low speed cornering there is a spot at about 20 degress that the wheel is really stiff.

Try adjusting th FOR settings. It goes from 0-400

You're welcome :)

Every single one CSR Elite i have had, was smelling like that.(you know how many :P)
Especilally when you have high damper/spring or force settings.

@HoiHman I was only using the standard factory settings until yesterday....Until I remembered I could adjust them lol then stopped and went back to the standard settings. But the Force setting is a real monster if turned up too high, and by too high I mean any more than 250 in GT5 anyway. The wheel shakes violently going in a straight line at speed. I did read about the breaking in period for the belts a while back, just slipped my mind. Thanks again Henk.

@ Latte Not much left in the wallet now mate......lol Not even enough for a Basher board....For a few weeks anyway

In GT5 you have to increase the Deadzone a little, to remove the shaking. It's a G25/G27 issue ;)

A secondary controller can be mapped to do that. If you have the skills you can build a button box utilizing the ps3 circuitry.
Not quite an answer to your question, but the ability ia there.

I think Fanatec said earlier that CSS will support same wheels as current "standard" shifters. Therefore I assumed that 7-speed CSS will work with 7-speeds on all wheels. Of course we can compromise reverse if needed :)
