It means that this statement is still valid. We will make sure that we keep you on the virtual road as long as possible and provide spareparts as long as possible.

Would really like to know what this means as it is a bit vague. After our warranty can we purchase parts and do the work ourselves? I guess because of the nature of this thread, everyone here would be quite adept at performing simple repairs themselves and therefore the option to buy parts and do work ourselves would be welcomed.

I’m sorry, but we unfortunately can’t provide motor blocks for sale.

These motors need to be used for customer wheel’s that needs to be repaired.

So if I don't buy the Service pack I am no longer considered a customer?

And if the issue is as mentioned above about a lack of some spare parts (e.g. the motor), this still does not mean that all other parts should not be available. Perhaps Fanatec could offer a list of parts that are available for direct purchase, and those that are not. E.g. Circuit boards and cables are available but motors are not?

It's concerning that once out of warranty (and I mean well out of warranty, say a year or so) that we can't buy (basic) spares to replace ourselves. Say for example I break a shifter on a Rim, or need to replace a cable or codewheel, I would like to be able to repair/replace such a simple component myself.

It's like a vehicle manufacturer saying that you can't buy spare parts once it is out of warranty unless you take it to their service center. Imagine having to take your vehicle back everytime you needed new brake pads or tyres.

Thomas has said there will be one and they are trying to make it compatible with current gear like Clubsport wheel rims and of course with their other products if possible.

Good to know, but without triple screen support on the new consoles I won't be buying anymore racing games for consoles.

I just had my second motor block burn up in just a little over a year. :banghead: What really pisses me off is I don't run high FFB in any sims. So its not that these things have to be abused to fail. There just flat out junk. With Fanatecs new policy of sending the wheel in for repair and the week or so of email tag it will probably be a month before I receive a working wheel again. :banghead: Im beginning to think I made a very bad choice here. :dunce: Even IF new motors can be purchased from Fanatec I damn sure am not buying a new one every 6 or so months.

CSW brake #6. When I turn it on, it shuts down 3 seconds later. Base shutting off during use this week. Looks like the whole thing decided to go bust. Kinda sad since I just had it serviced a month or so ago. :(

Could be motor related. If they draw too much current they will shut the wheel off at high current moments, then once they get a little worse the current draw at startup is too much and just shuts the wheel off.

question guys, Every once in a while my wheel will not calibrate properly when turning ON, Wheel will be perfectly centered and when you turn it on it starts to do the process but u can see it glitch and go the direction it shouldn't be and is then centered well...Off center. Whats causing this ?

Also my wheel has NEVER done the On process as fast or as Torqey as I see in the Fanatec Video on Youtube. Its kinda slow and sluggish to be honest. I thought it was tight belts and the wheel being New, But its been a few solid weeks of racing a couple quick laps here and there to a few Hour or 2 session's.

Not sure about your problem - could be dirty position sensor maybe? But the speed at startup is related to your firmware version. The newer firmware doesn't spin as fast on startup as the older ones do.

Yeah, my original Turbo spins faster than my GT3 and they're pretty much the same thing, power wise. Pretty sure Fanatec reduced the draw on firmwares after 681 for Porsche wheels. Don't know about the deal with CSW and Elite firmwares though.

No ideas on the first question, but as an aside: I always leave my wheels at around full lock when switched off. At rest a notch is created in the belt, and I much prefer to not have it in the centre. Again, not sure how this compares with the CSW/Elite.

Yea I asked them about that when my CSR-E pedals first went out. All they asked from me was the serial number, if it's in warranty (and the warranty seal isn't broken) they'll replace it for you even if you aren't the original buyer.

Same exact issue for me too 👎 The wheel is excellent when working. My FFB is between 4 and 7 depending on the car I'm driving and what-not. My wheel is OoW but Fanatec was willing to let me send my wheelbase in and have them replace the motors (they no longer ship us the motors) since it's a recurring issue. Instead I decided to have a fellow boardie fix my motor issues :)

Fanatec support as always been outstanding to me, never had to use the phone, email only, always got a reply within a day or 2, mostly because of the 6 hours difference between Eastern North America and Germany.
Only wishes that I never had to find out how good they are.

i let them responding me within couple days
i ve heard issue about people waiting weeks or months for a reply
by the way, i did not find any invoice in package, is it only online invoice?

well i checked everywhere, no clue when and where they sent me invoice
and they still dont respond yet, even they replay positively i am going to lose like 2 weeks (if they are willing to ship missing screws)

I am sure you made an account for your purchase at Fanatec? It's exactly that email address they send it to.

They have gotten much better over the years.

i might another issue
i wonder if you guys meet the squeaking noise issue with either Formula rim or GT rim onto clubsport base
when it is not running, you can clearly notice some annoying squeaking

Try a little lithium grease at the connection points. I get squeaking here and there. Just add some lubricant, gone.

My 911 turbo S wheel motor has worked fine since I bought it from the launch. I was around when GT5 prologue was released if I remember right?(long time ago then :D) Therefore I am quite surprised of these motor problems with current wheels.

should i update firmware for both pedals and wheel fanatec?
i must update wheel because of console's improvements but what is the purpose of pedal's update?

If you are referring to the Fanatec clubsport pedals ? . there is a firmware update although if you are not having problems with the brake release deadzone then you do not need to update.

Actually i left my CSR without firmware updates since i bought it, works absolutely fine so can someone explain what upgrading your firmware would do, and what are the benefits?

Specifically I can't tell you, but in general firmware updates will include bug fixes, compatibility updates, and the in the case of wheels specifically seem to have a lot to do with power management and thermal protection as well as wheel strength.
