While I haven't played GTS yet (still waiting for the issues to be fixed before buying the game), I have played PC2 on PS4 and F7 on X1 and haven't noticed any noise issues. Actually the wheel is exceptionally quiet and the fan may kick on to it's lowest setting which is barely audible.

That's sweet, Abe!

I have PC2, F7 and Dirt Rally on the X1 and GT Sport and AC on the Ps4 Pro.

Abe, I had never owned a GT game before and honestly I was thoroughly surprised at how much I like it...no, I'll go there...love it. Keeping in mind that is even with a neutered wheel, the TX while using the Drive Hub.

Andrew will you please comment about any noise and/or maybe your experience with the FEI?

I hate always bringing my dilema up but just in brief I am torn between going full bore with the v2.5 and emulating it with my Drive Hub as I am primarily a console gamer now, but may want to do more on the PC, as opposed to the noise of the CSL Elite potentially being a factor at home with my family (I truly can only race late at night or early in the morning).

Thank you in advance.
I'm not allowed to play on the rig late at night I'm told it makes lots of noise just from the sounds of me shifting gears, shaking from the rig (buttkicker off) and using the pedals.

Same for me with GT Sport. The only time I have ever even heard the fan was when it was the only thing I left on. PS4 fan is more audible than the steering wheel for sure. The paddles also don't click extremely loudly like some steering wheels. They have a really satisfying feel but not a loud click.

Seriously, man, thank you.

Have you been using the P1 wheel and if so what do you think?

Considering compatibility is in the base it's nice that it opens up the door for you on the other fanatec wheels, including the F1 wheel...or maybe the new McLaren!

We shall see, only a few more hours.

I have only used the included CSL Elite PS4 wheel. Which is the same as the P1 I believe but with different materials.

I agree that it would make our lives much simpler and there are plenty of advantages for the consumer. Ease of use is especially important for console users.

On the other hand it would kill innovation as there will be no special features as we can see on Xbox One.

To make a console protocol for all wheels only makes sense if it is really powerful and allows tons of buttons, axis, actuators, telemetry data sync. etc.
This is possible but no console has it yet.

And what about the customisation of force feedback?

A low budget wheel with 2NM of torque requires artificial boost of low signals while a DD wheel could run with fully linear signals.

The wheels would need to send out how much torque it can deliver. Not impossible but it needs to be done.

Completely agree.

Anyone else refresing fanatec page like crazy?? been doin this since morning....still no word about BF , they said today will show witch items will be on sale[/QUOTE

Yes, been checking since 9am. Wish they’d hurry up I’m ordering today if there’s no deals that suit me.

Can’t decide between the clubsport pedals or csl elitle with load cell pedals. Anyone any advice?

Thanks

Hello friends. I know this isn't the CSL Wheel (first one released) thread, but I can't find any specified, so I'd like to discuss an issue from my CSL Base with you:

Got a second hand CSL Base + P1 rim past week I'm getting this issue:

Some times, being the temperature of the room where it is quite low (around 10 degrees), after turning on the base, and immediately after calibrating the fan keeps spinning to top speed until I start using a game, and once it starts receiving any feedback signal, it immediately self-regulates and works correct.

Fanatec support says this is normal, but I can't understand how a complety cold motor need to be still cooler.

Can you help or leave me your opinion?

Many thanks in advice

I know they are different wheel bases with different internals but my CSL E PS4 doesn't do that. Upon start up the fan will run at 100% then shut down after a few seconds on its own. Maybe for the older wheels this is just part of the start up process?

Done...done...done deal..wanted them anyways, struggled with the previous price. Done.

Can we start? Can we pre-order, or do we wait until the 24th?
Got to wait but word of warning expect not to be able to actually buy anything the site implodes every year like it's under DDOS attack from everyone refreshing the page and trying to sign in every two seconds.

It's super frustrating if you aren't expecting it as you feel like everyone else is buying all the stock before you even get a chance but trust me basically no one can get on.

Inferno, thank you.

When will the sale actually take place? I mean, I know on the 24th, but what time normally, GMT or otherwise?

Additionally, is there any need for the break performance kit with the v3is if you already have the damper with that model?

Great deal. Do the v3 inverted pedals fit on the playseat evo angled plate? I think im going to need to mod my playseat to get this to work if i go for this.

maks, off the top of my head, I remember Shaun Cole from his review at the Simpit stating that there is 13 inches (about 33 cms) of height in the pedals.

if that helps.

EDIT: and sorry if I misunderstood your question. The foot print of the V3is are similar to earlier versions of the CSP, with the exception of the support 'feet", but I don't believe that applies since you wouldn't be putting them on the floor.

Thanks Buckfly, im currently with a t500rs setup so im not sure how any fanatec will fit on my playseat. I didnt even have interest in the v3 inverted pedals, i did want regular ones. I'll have to see how the full range of BF deals pans out and then research options a bit.

Perhaps there's a CSW 2.5 deal to pair the inverted pedals with. And hopefully there's a nice CSL elite package offered that makes our decision between the wheels that much harder lol.

That's a great deal for the above! I was on the fence about stretching the budget for these but that's taken care of now. 👍

Hopefully deals 2, 3 & 4 are announced soon. I need a few days to wrap my head around the amount of money I'm planning on spending! :banghead:

Fanatec
So it is Black Friday again.

This year we will have 4 offers and I hope this pleases existing customers as well as new ones. All offers will be revealed during this weekend and the sale starts on Nov 24th at 9.00 German time. As usual we will continue the sale until Monday or as long as supply lasts. There is enough inventory so that you do not have to be there at 9.00 but I would not recommend to wait until Monday if you want to be 100% sure to get one of those offers.

How do you like your pedal to feel?

For me no, I prefer having more travel like a road car since that's what I'm used to driving but if you want almost none like a race car which is almost entirely pressure based then you may want it but then it does mean the dampener isn't doing much theoretically of course because I've not tried it myself.

I agree, F.I., but I am wiling to experiment.

I mean, I have the load cell on the CSR Elites, but I have never noticed too much of a difference when I fiddle around with it.

I always took it, though, and maybe incorrectly that if you have the damper the break performance kit is really unnecessary.

BTW, please, you and others have to fess up on how to deal with fanatec on BF, as I have never bought anything from them on that day.

I just realized I am a dunce.

I really don't have to wait for the pedals as they are not bundled with anything.

I have the CSR Elites and the hand brake and besides for the different connections I need I could go ahead and order the v2.5, shifter and wheel rims before black Friday.

Sure I'm doubling up on shipping but why wait for black Friday?

EDIT: Jeepers, I did it. I just ordered the V2.5 Wheel Base, the 1.5 Shfiter, cable for my hand break, and the Clubsport Steering Wheel GT, obviously with the Universal Hub.

If you could get that w the inv v3 for under 700 that would be something! Is there a limit of 1 per customer? Is all this stuff new in box, or reconditioned returns?
Im actually considering the inv v3 now that I’ve seen simpits review which is pretty amazing.

"I just wish Shaun would be a little bit more thorough with his reviews and pay more attention to details", BuckFly said sarcastically.

I do like to think for myself, but honestly, I sometimes don't pull the trigger until I hear what Shaun has to say about a product.
