Fanatec CSL Elite Racing Wheel Thread- officially licensed for PS4

If i attach the CSL Elite Steering Wheel P1 (PC/XBOX) to the CSL Elite PS4 base is this what will happen?

1) On XBOX, it acts like a native XBOX wheel
2) On PS4, it will act like a native PS4 wheel

In scenario 2, would all the PS buttons become XBOX equivalents such as the PS Home button becomes the XBOX Guide button?

Perhaps i buy the CSL Elite PS4 with CSL Elite P1 wheel and sell off the PS wheel to save money. I don't want to switch wheels often and would prefer to have native multi-console support since im not sure how close Drivehub emulation is.

Edit: i beleive the CSL Elite P1 steering wheel is equivalent to the PS4 wheel, it just has different button art.

To answer your question as I have that exact setup.

CSL E P1 rim + CSL E PS4 base = Xbox native on Xbox (green LED will come on) & PS4 native on PS4 (blue LED)

Yes the PS4 button will be mapped in their location on the Xbox buttons and the Xbox guide button become your PS Home button.

When I first got the set up I would swap wheels when going from PC2 on PS4 to F7 on Xbox then realized I could just leave the Xbox wheel on all the time.

Personally I prefer the feel of the PS4 version since it uses leather and not alcantara. I like alcantara but it gets really dirty and disgusting after a while.
 
Does the firmware come updated from warehouse or do I have to plug it into a PC before playing with it on PS4? Do I need any special cables to connect to the PC? Does it comes eith rhe cables necessary? I'm going to go ahead and place my order ... as soon as the site is back up. No worries

Mine didn't ship with the latest update so you very likely need to update before. USB cables ship with it so you don't need to buy anything in addition.
 
I didn't even stop to think if the inverted v3 peddles would have a mounting issue with my f1 gt next level racing rig. I guess we will see, already ordered csl elite wheel for ps4 and club sport inverted peddles with an extra damper for the throttle, 50$ more than t-gt. I hope it's worth it.

Pre-ordered the McLaren GT3 wheel with the quick release! I actually really like the included CSL wheel but looking forward to trying out those nicely textured paddle shifters.

According to a facebook post we got till tuesday morning to make a decision on these sales. Still on the fence but if i do buy i will be grabbing alot of stuff.

I wanted this wheel also, but didn't come with QR so I bought the f1 with the QR for 218$ including shipping instead of 296$ for the Mclaren rim. Looks sweet but that F1 is awesome and all metal, I hope this weight will allow me to increase the ffb for more feel and smooth operation.
 
Can anyone confirm you can play longer than 1 hour without taking a break to allow cooling, like it says in the manual for the csl elite for Ps4?

I've done about three 4 hour sessions with zero issues and the fan was hardly audible. I have the FFB set to auto and in F7 it's not really that strong so maybe that's why but I don't think you'll have an issue. Maybe just don't try and run a 24hour race with FFB set to max.

You convinced me easily. I also pre-ordered the McLaren GT3 rim. Delivery in Feb 18 so enough time to first get used to the CSL elite wheel and then I am ready for the more serious work with the GT3 rim :)

Oooh I forgot. read my previous post about the Buttkicker. Now my wife advized me to do some veryverygood research on Google for nuttcrackers :scared::nervous:. I love her :cheers:

Just received my PS4 CSL Elite and have been trying out GT Sport, liking it so far. :)

I was wondering what kind of settings you guys were using, both in-game and on the wheel itself. I’ve played around with it a bit, but so far haven’t really found settings that feel right.

Jajajajaja for what I hear is a good hardware and of course have different setting and if you have race any Go kart or other type of racing cars in there not always is just fun!!!!! No Pain no Gain!!!!! Joking is just a vibration system and you have to tuned to yours preference so go ahead make your Sim experience the must live like possible!!!!!

The CSL Elite PS4 with latest firmware from Fanatec supports GT Sport in the purple compatibility mode which emulates a G29. PD and Fanatec are working on dedicated support for the wheel but we don’t know the exact time frame yet. Works pretty well in compatibility with a few small issues. I would guess it will be even nicer once it is fully supported.

I'm hoping the 1.06 Update Fixes the Issue that I heard with the Wheel not centring when going over 200mph etc, Or better yet full compatibility being issued within GT Sport. Ordering the Wheel via Amazon UK If I decide to go for It but Postage will take over a week so I'm trying to beat the wait & Order early and fully Invest In Fanatec. That New McLaren GT3 Rim has Just been released as well so I need to make my mind up by Tuesday at the latest!

It isn't an issue of the wheel not centering when going over 200mph. It doesn't really have anything to do with going fast in a straight line, it is just some odd torquing when crossing over the center point under certain circumstances, just most noticeable in a straight line no mater what they speed. And it also can cause the wheel to oscillate when it is released while driving. I would imagine PD and Fanatec are working on full support which don't involve emulating a G29 as it currently does in compatibility mode. So probably makes the most sense to just focus on getting that done rather than trying to fix G29 emulation. I doubt Fanatec can say anything about PD's dev process but I am sure they are pushing them to get it done as soon as possible.
 
I ordered it on Thrusday, its still in "Processing", its Sunday now but as impatient as I am, I understand that they are probably very busy, considering Black Friday and all, so its cool. Same with GT Omega, but again, understandable.
 
Was just trying out the new GT Sport update and it looks like the on center behavior issue is still there as expected. Hopefully we will see full support before the end of the year like @Fanatec... had mentioned at some point. I would recommend setting FFB Sensitivity in game to 1 to help minimize the issue for now. I use FFB Max Torque 4 and FFB Sensitivity 1 at the moment. With FEI set to 50, and SPR set to 50 on the wheel settings.

The v1.06 update makes driving production cars on Sports tires MUCH more realistic and fun. Sports tires were really lacking grip before and the way they lost grip was super exponential. Now way more linear and fun to drive. Much easier to feel the car sliding from the wheel now as well because of this. So many cars on Sports tires before would just snap around with a little throttle input. That is no longer the case. Big improvement in my opinion.

I did want to add, I got my Clubsport shifter setup with the CSL Elite and it works exactly as expected in sequential and h-pattern mode. Just make sure to calibrate it in h-patter mode and it works great in compatibility mode in GT Sport.

In my case just play the Demo and in my opinion is not bad at all but you cant make a comparo with AC but is very decent I have the setting in raw and almost fell everything, but I'm receiving the PC2 from Black Friday Amazon sales and going to runs it and make a more fair commnents
 
I've owned a g29 for 2 weeks. My CSL elite with LC came yesterday. I'll post my detailed impressions later after work. But the verdict is the fanatec elite is on another level in terms of performance, function , flexibility, and feel (as in to the touch - not something I thought I would care about until I actually held it in my hands and compared it to holding titties). Dont get me started on the LC. Lord jesus its a fire! Previous wheel was a t300 and most recently prior to g29 a t150.
