I would take the wheel off again and check that one or more of the connecting pins haven’t folded over?
That's what I am suspecting too.. the pins however seem straight and are tight, when I put on the wheel I get power to the rim and when i tried with paper all the pins went into the base connector and punctured the paper... I don't wanna disassemble the rim to get the pin part out as that would probably make me loose ma warranty... :/

Is any one having compatibility issues with windows 8.1 and fanatec update version v293 beta. Can I uninstall the v293 and install v292 for better support. I can't pin the app to the task bar or find it in programs, I have to open up devices to find the shortcut for the game controllers app. The usb cable is only usb 2.0, is that a problem, my ports are 3.0.

Is your semi quick connect collar aligned right? And is it loose like it should be.

THIS WHAT MINE LOOKS LIKE.

Would love, love, love to get a Fanatec CSL Elite PS4 Bundle (the basic 2-pedal set will be fine with me since I use the paddles for gear shifting and have no need for pedal clutch).
Currently have a Logitech G29 but my ambition is to get the Fanatec. Seems so much better and more stable from users' reviews. Just hoping by the time I get it full compatibility/wheel recognition will be available for Pcars 2 and GTsport.
Maybe if there's a sale on for Christmas I'll take the plunge.

Dont chimp on the loadcell brake! You can leave out the clutch pedal when assembling, but that loadcell brake is what makes the CSL a great package!

Hes right about the load cell. The two pedal set doesnt have it, so you will have to get that, then add on the load cell brake, which is well worth the extra money. Dont let the “full compatibilty” and “recognition” thing deter you. I can confirm and so can others, that these “issues” have been way overstated, mostly by people who dont own the wheel. I have owned csl and tgt in the past month, and I can tell you that I have found the csl is easier to operate in both the games you mentioned than the tgt, mainly because of its added adjustability, but also several other things which turned out to be a much bigger improvement than I thought they would be. I guarantee you will not regret it.

Thanks @PocketZeven and @Twstcrv . Yup I have indeed seen reviews the Load Cell brake thingy is well worth it. Made up my mind now. I'll make sure to include the Load Cell brake when ordering. Cheers.
Don’t sell your G29 yet though. Logitech’s are almost unbreakable. Just read a post of a guy still using his driving force pro from 2005! Keep it as a backup.

The Driving Force was strong from what I heard from a previous user. However the G29, according to him, was inferior in quality. The first one I had lasted about a year until something trip off and I could no longer get to select anything in menus. This is my second G29, got second hand. Thankfully that's somewhat holding up now for about a year since despite the PS3/PS4 switch which is quite flimsy became loose and unable to select the PS3 mode. Fortunately all I'm interested is playing PS4.

Mine CSL Elite (XBox version) arrived yesterday.I played four hours. The wheel base looks good and is relatively small. The wheel is powerful, smooth, very fast(I am able to save huge slides with this wheel) and the single belt drive mechanism has low friction.I set the FEI setting to 5 and the wheel is pretty quiet. To be able to adjust the force feedback settings and the degrees of rotation during gameplay is very convenient. When the force feedback is set to 100 the fan works hard and here is winter with temperature in the room of twenty degrees Celsius, the base remains relatively cold but I'm a little worried about the hot summer days.
Someone else who experienced random activation of the tuning menu button, happens when the rear end of the car starts to slide and I countersteer.

So your already planning a “heavy duty” mod to cool the base?💡

Edit: this was a joke to refer to @super_gt ‘s amazing heavy duty pedal mod I admired in another thread! In no way I claim there is anything wrong with the cooling of the CSL elite.

The cooling on my CSW V2.5 is also quite active, but the exhaust temperature isn't even warm. Pretty sure the fan profile on Fanatec equipment is agressive to counter motor overheating. Coming from another brand, can confirm it's nowhere near as hot.

Not for now.I just tried how strong is the force feedback when set to 100%.Even when is set to 60 has plenty of power and the fan does not work so much.
leave ff at 100%. Turn down fource in game , much better fidelity. Im running 1/1 in game. FEI 70 , FF, and FOR at 100, Spr and dpr 0, and Dri-3.

Edit: this is for gt sport.

oops edit: fei 70..

Any way to Dim the rev lights ? I play in a cave and they are brutal - especially the last stage. Funny enough I wasn't expecting much coming from the g29 with those useless lights.

Always leave FFB at 100% and modulate strength with FOR. That way you get the full details, but you have less fight to do with the wheel. Also, remove Spring and Damper. The rest is up to you :)

Not sure it's okay to depend on force to modulate strength as it seems to mostly affect forces which push the wheel away from center. If you play with this setting and drive over a curve you can see it in action. I think all the other effects are incidental but you may add or take away inadvertently more from a single effect trying to dial in overall force.

If you don’t thrash the engine so much the blues won’t come on..... nah seriously, the light that really bothered me was the “on” light as that is very bright too and it hides behind part of the wheel most of the time until you turn it - cured it by sticking some black electrical tape over it, it’s still visible through the tape but doesn’t assault your eyeballs now.

I went round to my mates the other day to help him set up his brand new G29 on his rig, he tested it and said wow this is strong my arms are going to ache after using this for a while then he let me have a go..... all I can say is I thought it was broken or I’d forgotten to turn the ffb on, got to remember now not to let him come round mine and try the CSL as it would only upset him.

Back lit buttons would be great.

. . . . . . . SOS . . . . . . . Just opened my csl ps4 for the first time but the wheel will not calibrate and stays with the 3 orange leds on and the power led blinks red. Any solution ?

It can not be seen in My PC it will not calibrate. When i press the power button it just rotates for about 30 degrees and then it stucks with the red power led blinking and the 3 orange rev lights on. That is it. It is the same thing if i plug it on my laptop or not. No detection no response

just a thought. Pull the wheel and make sure the pins aren't bent. Otherwise you may need to contact support.

Just to clarify, is this happening right out the box or after u attempted firmware update?

Right out of the box and i did the Bootloader FW update and still the same issue.

The pins are perfect.

Failed flash might have bricked your unit or it could be a bad cable. Any error messages. Was the flash sucessful as far as you know? Im assuming it was being seen by your PC prior to attempting the update and now its not. So something went wrong there. Eitherway its time to call tech support.

Just contacted Tech support and waiting. . . . .
The flash was sucessful.
After searching the web i found that many people had the same issue since the csl elite xbox version. A bit disappointed . . . . .
