Posting this here as I don't think it deserves a new thread. I just got my rig set up and used my DD Pro for the first time for about an hour. I am really lost in regards to the P1 V2 wheel I purchased. I REALLY like the size and feel of the wheel, cannot imagine going smaller but jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez it's a nightmare to use. The game does not recognise the wheel so I cannot find a button map, Fanatec included PS5 button caps which was very nice of them but for the life of me they do not fit the existing buttons, they seem much larger and I wonder if they actually work with the original DD Pro wheel not the P1 (I cannot remember if the caps came with the wheel or the motor)?

Anyways, is the a PS5 sticker of replacement cap set for the P1 V2?
Are you playing GT7? Individual wheels aren't shown in game. Easiest way is to use the DD Pro wheel option and then reassign the button mapping to those on your wheel. I had to do the same thing for my McLaren rim.

Yeah GT7. I found that image online too but I'd like stickers or replacement caps but cannot find a set anywhere, it is super, super annoying and makes navigating a nightmare. The wheel is SO MUCH better than the DD Pro 28cm one but man, so much hassle.

Have a look on eBay or Etsy, should be able to find something suitable like this.

How does one know what wheel GT7 recognises the P1 V2 as? Sorry for all the questions but I am finding this wheel a massive headache despite loving the form factor (lovely wheel to touch and drive with). I don't see anywhere in GT7 that says what it is recognising the wheel as.

Other issue is I cannot turn the PS5 on with it, so i turn on the DD Pro, but the PS button won't work until I login with a controller first then disconnect the controller. It's so weird.

It won't recognise it as a P1, it's the same with my McLaren wheel. Use the DD Pro option then map the functions according to the layout of your wheel, if that makes sense.
Also it's normal that it won't turn on the PS5 from the wheel.

GT7 setups are by the wheel base model regardless of which wheel is mounted - only the GT wheels are shown for the Pro/X - and then map the buttons that match - example find L2 on your wheel and then in the picture use that drop down next to L2 to set a function

You should not have to login with a controller, strange.

It is normal that you cant't turn on your ps5 with the wheel itself. Powerbutton on the console or ps5 controller are the only way (or you set up your tv and ps5 propperly so your ps5 turns on when you select its source on your tv)

Purchasing DD Pro + QR2 Base-side bundle from Black Friday was a no-brainer over the monstrosity called T598, since i already had P1 Rim and Pedals, but...

Must say that Coming from CSL Elite - DD Pro 8nm is definitely not a significant upgrade; like some others have mentioned, it's not a night and day difference...

From FFB i never wanted raw heavy forces from DD, but i thought 8nm/DD would provide much more detailed FFB without having to use higher forces, but i realized it's nearly just as notchy and grainy with higher FEI setup as my old CSL Elite...
Road detail is basically just nonstop and somewhat disconnected rumbling, like there's sand inside the base or the Rim is not tightened properly - So i thought maybe my old worn P1 Rim with OG metallic collar and tightening screw had developed minor side to side movement ?

Couple days later i decided to pay little more and ordered P1 V2 (QR1 Lite) and Simube QR2 to fix this possible issue for good!
V2 arrived first so i attached the rim, opened PS menu and boom D-pad/navigation doesn't work, double checked that V2 rims are indeed supported on PS5...

Well, with my long history of multiple defect Fanatec products, it didn't surprise me that P1 rim arrived DOA; so once again, instead of enjoying the product, i found myself creating Fanatec Video folders on my PC desktop and recording video material for RMA process - Ridiculous!

Still managed to do decent V2 testing with QR1 Lite by using DS to navigate menus... And it absolutely didn't fix the grainy feel/looseness of FFB, in fact without the tightening screw it kinda felt to have even more play, especially flex from QR1 Lite that wasn't present with the OG collar.
(granted the V2 rim felt super sturdy in comparison.)

The DD Pro is a nice compact package: great build quality, easy to hardmount, completely silent even after longer session - no coil whine or anything alarming whatsoever...
However, i couldn't get rid of the idea that it's a ticking time bomb i need to sell forward soon as possible, while it still works!

Couldn't sell the Base separately, so i ended up selling everything as a bundle including my old OG rim, new defective rim, pedals, 2 weeks old DD Pro and both QR2-sides unopened...
Also sold my 4th "semi defective" CSL Wheel Base which, surprisingly, didn't feel that bad compared to DD Pro on what comes to road details.

This decision pretty much killed my hobby at least for now, but i'm relieved after leaving their ecosystem.
I'm still unsure wheter this poor FFB is caused by bad connection between QR and Shaft or something else, like software or just how Playstation's output signal is nowadays...
Or would QR2 fix this issue? too many IF's and i'm done with Fanatec.
The person i sold Simube QR2 - mentioned that QR2 Lite has noticeable creaking, hence the upgrade... Didn't feel bad for selling them.

What's next is a big question mark, due to Sony's disgusting SIM Racing cartel...
