So I am wondering, are the Silver handles & dials on the ClubSport Steering Wheel F1 2019 the actual colour of the metal, or is it metal sprayed silver? This makes quite a big difference?

The description on the page says: "Revitalise your rig with the F1® 2019 wheel, which features silver weave in the carbon fibre, silver-coloured accents and rear shell, and a cutaway F1-style grip design."

So to me, that suggests it is possibly painted? Would love clarification on that.

Who here is buying it?

Who here already has the Gold 2018 F1?

My PS4 Podium Wheel came in this morning. I had it held at the FedEx store and picked it up while I was out. Thing looks beautiful. I was a little put off of the blue colors when they first announced it but it looks much better in person. The paddles feel great and can’t wait to try them out. With my Xbox wheels I have all the bases covered with this setup.

Looks like I will have to wait till Monday to try mine out. I have a 80/20 rig and ordered a couple of extra parts so I could mount it up. Parts were supposed to be here today but now tracking says Monday delivery.
I tried another method with the parts I have here but that didn’t work out. Might try another way tomorrow when my mind is clear. I want to use it this weekend.

It’s silver plastic

Bummer LE F1 2019 wheel is not compatible with XBOX, well no point in buying it. Won't work with PS4 unless I have a wheelbase for PS4 and I ordered the DD2 and have CSW 2.5. Wish they would make a wheel with the PS4 chip inside it like the XBOX wheels, but I know that's a licensing thing from Sony.

Got my unit unpacked. The shifters feel awesome. Bummer that I have to work while looking at it :D.

At least my pets are happy with all the fanatec boxes once again.

Is there any real advantage of the 2019 F1 LE wheel over the 2018 version? Is the leather more durable than alcantara over the long-term? Seems like they just changed the color and swapped alcantara for leather.

In terms of electronics and assembly it is the same technical spec. It includes new coloured button caps (along with the standard racing caps). Leather is arguably more suitable for use without gloves, but really Alcantara vs leather is a case of personal preference.

I have the 2018 and it’s gorgeous.

Personally I think the silver version does nothing aesthetically positive for it whatsoever. Just my take.

But my DD2 has shipped and it due to arrive Wednesday. Woot!

If anyone wants to hear the first thoughts on the DD2, Shawn Cole from the simpit will be using one tonight in about half an hour he said, during one of his weekly night drives live. He just did an unboxing

Seems like pretty positive first impressions. Definitely fair that he isn't giving any real comparisons/review comments yet.

Like I said above my PS4 Podium Wheel came in yesterday but I did not have the parts to mount it up to my 4Play Racing 80/20 rig. So I came up with this. I had a old aluminum pedal plate that I was not using so I took the template and drilled it to match the base and countersunk the holes so they were flush. I then drilled 4 more mounting holes so I could mount it to the 80/20 crossmember. Came out ok and will get me going for now till my other parts get in. Thought it might help out anybody else with a 80/20 rig.

Thanks for sharing. And meanwhile also a DD2 rig installation & first drive video via Simpit's channel:
I'm going to watch it while waiting for my delivery on Tuesday(?)

Yes it is the US Version Podium PS4. There is a special plug that goes into the back of the base that then goes into the power brick then out of the brick is a standard three prong plug that plugs in the wall

Is that what you needed?

First impressions - the the way that it snaps is awesome. First time it surprised me.
But it seems that pedals work somewhat different then csw v2 + drivehub - need to get used to it.

There is no FEI and NPR setting on my base does anyone know if I should update my firmware ?
Bummer that rseat misplaced my buttkicker adapter - still waiting for it.
Want to set everything up and then maybe give my full impression.

S1 handles the DD1 quite well. Sometimes it feels like I'm already using my buttkicker (FFB travels trough the metal so It's normal)

Yes, you HAVE TO update the wheel base to firmware 651.
But normally NDP and FEI should already be available in the tuning menu even with an older firmware...

What pedals are you using?
CSP V3

It feels like loadcell is harder (on the same settings) but I'm sensitive to that. I'm guessing that logitech mode in drivehub mapped pedals a bit different.

Wish that we could set deadzones etc on the wheelbase (like in the drivers).
