That depends on who's shifting. I can out-shift an auto anyday. :D

Stick ****s are over all faster then an auto. My friend has a 94 integra LS automatic and I drive a crappy old 89 saab with a 5 speed. I am positive an integra has more then 106 bhp (which is what my saab has from the factory) and I could out accelerate him. Anly because I could take better advantage of my engine's power with my stick shift then he could with his auto.

Uh, no. That may be true for conventional autos, but you can't beat a CVT auto. It's a good thing being able to keep the revs at peak torque at all times. Re Audi A4 2.4 V6 Multitronic. It's 0.6 seconds faster on full auto than in Tiptronic mode on a quarter mile. Granted, you can't be really certain how fast the changes between the pre-programmed gear ratios are, as the article I'm reading doesn't mention it.

BTW, another example, which is also one of the reasons why full auto transmissions aren't allowed in F1: a Williams F1 that had a CVT transmission. It was reportedly two seconds per lap faster than one with a semi-auto. That was IIRC when Williams was already a lot faster than other teams, thanks to their active suspension. I wonder how fast F1 cars would be if every electronic aid was allowed...

ok, obviously a CVT is better. If only Audi shipped theres without makinging it rev like a normal at. They did that so it would feel right but I want a "real" cvt that stays at exactly peak torque all the time. That would be damn fast.
And I don't really consider a cvt an automatic tranny, it is a completely different kind of tranny then manual or auto. Just my 2 cents.

Ditto.

bah... i got high 3s from my Mini... ;)

what's next, people will get -4secs with their Escudos?

please don't use the zonda, it sucks too much.
Thank you

:D

Actually, i guess if it can't turn for s**t then it must go straight pretty fast.

Yeah, and if you use a Gameshark to add a 9 foot long park bench wing to the back, you can do 3 second runs! It's even more amazing if you tape a "Type-R" symbol to your controller! You can go back in time!!!

My current records, and please note I don't go to the test track that often, are:
RUF RGT.... 9.161s
XJ220 Road Car .... 9.795
Nismo Skyline R32 S Tune .... 10.088
Pennzoil Nismo GT-R JGTC .... 10.132
Vertigo Race Car .... 10.812
Mazda RX-8 .... 11.386
FTO GP Version R .... 13.585
Celica TRD Sports M .... 13.683

Having said that theres a lot of fast cars in my garage that I haven't taken to the track, C5R, Escudo, XR8, that kinda thing :burnout:

THAT expains why I've been running high 3s! Thanks for the help! I'll be in the 2s easily now!

Is there anyone out there that has gotten a legitimate sub 8.7 second time, besides me?
No more idiots with Bug Race cars saying they got 6.7 with some "REALLY COOL SETTINGS!!!"

No idea. That's an excellent time! If I may ask, what car did you use? I know I've got an F1 car to run like 9.1...

That's the problem with posts that get this long, no one reads the begining. Got that time with a RUF RGT.

Ack! Sorry...that'll learn me to actually read once in a while.

But i did clock this car at least 365km/h and does a standing start (0-400m) in 9.83 secs now come on, tell me that is decent as it is very different to other cars race car, gt car and rally cars. I mean this car is like an outsider and with it's rotary, it is unstoppable.

STATUS: 47.3%

LICENCES: IA AND R

Yeah? Well i got 7:36.610 with a 1000hp Viper GTS.

Reason?

Because i ran out of petrol revving it up at the startline. :embarrassed: :boxedin:

THIS IS ALL ABOUT NOT USING F1 CARS, IT MAKES IT O EASY, WHY ARE PEOPLE BUYING CARS TUNING THEM AND TESTING THEM.

no offense, but there is no need, come on!!
