My brother went 110 in his 04 Honda Accord EX V6 he could have went more but I think he either A didnt want to take the risk. or B. the electronic govenor. (SP?)

110-130 mph in my (stock)camaro 79 (just k&n filter sparks and cables.

i'm not sure of the speed, because the speedometer just mark was 110,but i keep accelarating like 1 mille more.

and 117mph on a slk 500 (from of friend|)

100 mph mercury cougar 5.0L

many's more, but never faster than the camaro

You guys are crazy. You do this on a highway. The fastest you could go on a highway in this state is about 80mph. Above that and you get a speeding ticket. The average speed on the highway here is about 75 mph and the speed limit is 65mph. Once above the 75mph you are very likely to get caught. There is never even a large open stretch of highway to race on, even in the dark of night.

120 in a 1993 Buick Roadmaster, 1993, stock, down an empty but beat-up 3 mile stretch of cournty road.
110 in a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis down the New Jersey Turnpike, if I remember correct. And that's about the highest speed I've ever been.

Oh yea, 95 just recently (with me doing the driving, er, riding for a change) on a 1984 Honda 350XL.

My dad went 123mph in his bmw 530i (95'), and I have gone 112mph in my mkiv Supra TT, but you guys are waaay past our records lol 👍

Yeah, but you see, those two are cars that are somewhat designed for higher speed. Our Roadmaster with Dynaride shocks and Pep Boys tires felt like it was gonna lose control any second. The choppy pavement didn't help either. Doing 95 on my Honda was scary. (that's the highest speed the bike can safely obtain - I say 'safely' because there are 'shift points' on the speedometer marking how high you can rev the engine. I didn't wanna blow it, especially going that fast)

You must live in a bubble 👎

155mph in a Ferrari 355 Spyder ... Whoooo!
Not my car ... Boooo!

addendum; my car had cheap tires on it at the time and i didnt want to test thier integrity. while they were certainly capable of 130 based in their H speed rating, they were some unknown brand. if they were michelins, bridgestone, dunlop or some other brand i might have pushed further.

Down in SC, I got my Daewoo Lanos up to 75 MPH on SC Highway 260. *I would've gone faster but my grandfather and mom were in the car. :P *

130mph in a old ford falcon 90s model i think i hated the feeling of the susepension on the friggin bouncy road.

Speedos get very inacurate at such high speeds. In my friend's 2002 Civic Type-R the speedo went past 150mph but infact it had hit it's quoted vmax of 146mph (GPS verified).
I have a friend who claimed he did 135mph in a 1.6 Focus. Most likely down to speedo inaccuracy.

Holy shet! Jeez man whatcha got under that thing? You running, like 15 psi or boost? Man, you gotta have at least 300-350 hp for that kinda speed I think

I've figured from other peoples dyno graphs that I'm at about 220-230 to the ground. I do have some alot of weight reduction also.

I did 130 (according to speedo) in my dad's E36 328i.

Pushed my 240 to redline in 5th (speed limiter is disabled), but speedo doesn't work.

The FIAT Coupe Turbo Plus is limited to 155mph. It has 220hp. Its maximum speed in 6th gear is 186mph, but it couldn't ever reach it based on gearing, available power and aerodynamics.

It is much more aerodynamic though than my brother's Subaru Impreza WR1, which has 320hp and is also limited to 155mph.

My car, speedo indicated 120mph, true figure more likely around 110-112mph (Toyota Celica). Very naughty as it was on an empty dual carridgeway (speed limit 70mph).

Fastest in someone elses car, 150mph (GPS confirmed), BMW M5 on a German Autobahn and all legal as well.

I don't get it.... the 350Z has 290 hp but it only can do... 146 I think

<_<

Edit... also, just got my 350 (it's cc's, a motorcycle I got) up to 100. I don't think I'll do that again :ill:

Isn't aerodynamics more important? The Z looks pretty aerodynamic. I dunno, maybe the FC is more aerodynamic. Plus, as you said, it probably is a lot lighter.

2600 lbs and its farely aerodynamic. I don't have the stock spoiler, but I really don't think it would make a whole lot of differance.

I have gone really fast in my dad's car he was a car racer and I am an amature, but my dad has a '70 pontiac firebird formula 400. he let me drive it. that thing is a beast. the car os street legat. its a g-machine. it looks almost stock except for a roll cage, the seats and the gadges. Okay, the car is naturally aspirated. it means no turbos or superchargers. It is dynotested at over 1100 hp! I drove it and I got to 190 miles an hour in it in the track. (oval track) My dad once got it to 205! I mean this is a beast. 1/4 mile times are under 9 seconds!!!!! I also have my own car which is a '68 pontiac firbird with a natural aspirated 350 that I built myself. I dont know how much power it has but I got it to 175+ in the freeway. That was very scary. I also never got a ticket because I am cool like that.

No. I don't live in a bubble although, I don't live at the race track etiher.

Neither do I. What I mean is, I find it unlikely that there is...

With a powerful car you don't need 20 miles of open space. Here are two videos of 03 Cobras making a quick run. Up and back in a very short amount of time. You don't need lots and lots of space.

Link 2- He doesn't get on it until he hits 120mph
