Favourite Comedian(s)

Bringing this back, anybody here like Micky Flanagan? I've never laughed so much at one sketch.

*Language Warning*

George Carlin
Bill Hicks
Paul Merton
Sean Lock
Lee Mack
Dave Chappelle
Richard Pryor
Harry Hill
Peter Kay
Bill Bailey
Ken Dodd
Groucho Marx
Ricky Gervais
Rory Bremner

Many, ranging through different cultures.
But one of my all time favorite is still Dave Chappelle.
his show needs to come back

Hmmm I like Mitch Hedberg. For movies, Will Ferrell. Favourite British stand-up would be Stewart Lee. Armando Ianucci is a very good comedy writer. Harry Hill and Vic and Bob are good for a laugh at times too.

I like some of the acting and voice impressions that Dave Chappelle does. His jokes aren't exactly clever, but they are amusing.

I love his white guy voice.

"Quickly Johnson, let's sprinkle some crack on him and get out of here!"

My favourite 2 would have to be Kevin Bridges and myself (I have only done it twice but I've been told I'm very good)

"They all laughed when I said I wanted to be a comedian. Well they're not laughing now!"

Bob Monkhouse.

Ricky Gervais
Bill Cosby
Eddie Murphy
Chris Rock
Robert Downy Jr.
Will Farrell
Lewis Black

Kevin Bridges
John Bishop
Lee Evans
Eddie Izzard
Reginald D. Hunter
Bill Bailey (panel shows more than his stand up)
Andy Parsons (dat voice)
Dara O' Briain

I've almost certainly forgotten some. But yeah, UK circuit only, for me :P

Oh, except for George Carlin... how'd I forget him?

Eddie Murphy, George Carlin and Bill Cosby. Their earlier material (say, pre 90s), no matter how dated some of it has gotten, still cracks me up to this day; and Carlin in particular just never lost that spark like the other two did right up to his death. I like Dave Chappelle generally, but a lot of times his jokes and stuff are only really good because of how he sells it rather than the content itself. If I'm not in the right frame of mind, some of his stuff can be downright cringe-worthy.

I also like Chris Rock, but I've only heard a couple of his sets so I don't think I can comment on him completely.

I seem to be in the minority with my friends, but I've developed an unhealthy obsession with Sarah Millican over the last year.

Other favourites are:
Jack Whitehall
Mo'Nique (no apologies for that one)
David O'Doherty
Shappi Khorsandi
Andi Osho
Frankie Boyle
Simon Amstell
Russell Howard
Ava Vidal

Edit: How on earth could I forget Joan Rivers? I love her so much.

Aren't you guys forgetting a Dylan Moran? He's an excellent comedian, and definitely among my favourites.

Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Katt Williams, Dave Chappelle, Gabriel Iglesias, Chris Rock, Bernie Mac

And I cant believe that nobody has mentioned Kevin Hart yet. He is probably my favorite comedian.

Jeff Dunham, Jim Gaffigan (a real gem, in my opinion), Gabriel Iglesias, all of the Blue Collar guys, Tosh, and Dave Chappelle. Chappelle's Lil' Jon segments are hilarious.

My all time list: In no particular order apart from mentioned.

Frankie Boyle, by a long shot possibly the best comedian of all time, defiantly the most controversial.
Sean Lock
Jimmy Carr
Keith Lemon
Russell Howard
Carl Pilkington, may not do stand up, but one funny man.
And I know I'm missing a lot but cannot remember some good Irish/Scottish comidians.

Depends on the period. Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor and George Carlin were much more controvertial at their times.

Frankie Boyle used to be quite good, but not it's just naming as many crude, disgusting things as possible, reference a nuclear holocaust and namedrop Kerry Katona and "Mum of the Year" and you've got yourself a very poor TV show.

Boyle is more crude and shock than controversial. I'm not sure whether he's gotten worse or whether my tastes have changed.

Irish comedians. O'Brien and Moran. Period.

I suppose, but for me I always mean of more recent times as I'm young :dopey:

And well I suppose, but I found what he had said to be more funny (possibly through shock) then anyone else at the time..

And I'm still forgetting a few Scottish comedians..

Oh, how could I forget;

Ronnie Barker
Tommy Cooper
Morcambe & Wise

Still not who I'm thinking of..

But I finally remembered the name I wanted..

Dara O'Brien, you mentioned him for me though, as had many others before me.

My favourite comedian is...

MYSELF.

No friends I bet will make you laugh more than any comedian.
