Ferrari California will be in GT5 Prologue (Video)

I made the following screenshots at 0:22 to 0:24. Those are reflections of timbered houses. Any idea which track it could be?

Yes they did. At least they will include all versions, for example, A, B, C, D, versions. They might not include version A1 and A2 for example if you catch my drift, Prob just the major versions. At least 10-20 Ferrari's will be nice to have.

....did anyone listen to the
"Hear" section on the website? That thing sounds amazing!! I only hope it sounds that sweet in GT5.....I hope it's in the fall update as well.

Hopefully the audio in GT5 will be improved to sound more realistic and not as flat.

And what's wrong with ugly? It's a supercar. I think it's great that Ferrari gave it the look and personality that it did. I'd be disappointed if it was bland and uncharacteristic.

Doesn't matter though, it looks beautiful in the GT5 video. 👍

Could the unknown track be an updated Trial Mountain, perhaps? I remember a lot of steep rock faces on the sides of the track.

Yes, Ferrari is really embracing PD and looking at this as a partnership. PD has produced a multitude of one offs of GT5 for Ferrari's Paddock club this F1 seasons along with many "virtual drives" for various Ferrari models. It's part of Ferrari trying to embrace different markets and the like as a company. I must say they are doing an amazing job at it. For a company that has always been seen as very traditional or set in it's ways Ferrari has an amazing way to reinvent itself when it needs too.

As for Fiorano being in the game, it hit me last night that it pretty much has too be. Ferrari has many benchmarks for it's cars with it's test drivers around Fiorano. I would expect them to want it in game so they can use it for their own "virtual drive" discs but also for players to test themselves.

I didn't expect the California to be in GT5 but I do expect the Enzo to show up in GT5 as I do some of the famous Ferraris over the years, maybe 3-4 of the ones everyone knows.

I for one would love to see some of the 1950s F1 cars. Or maybe a Ferrari F1 car from each decade? I'd love to see a full (race) GT version of the F430 as well as a F430 Scuderia.

For a guy that always considered himself a Porsche guy I have to admit that I only see red anymore. If Porsche does end up in GT5 (finally) then I will be split. Right now I pretty much only drive the expensive red cars.

"I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." (as a Ferrari drives off into the London fog)

Unknow track is El Capitan in my opinion: at first moment I was in doubt, but on 00:34 I think it's the part aftel the tunnel on El Capitan, you see the protections at left and the mountain at right exactly as on the original track. Rocks could be due to the rework of the track for GT5P & GT5 (since it's not a real circuit).

the Interceptor, about the "houses track" it could be one of the ones I loved on GRAN TURISMO 2: Grindelwald. It's a dream maybe, because it's a too old one (anyway I would like so much to see that track on GT5... and Red Rock Valley too) but if you think carefully it's so probably that it could be Grindelwald, because I think Grindelwald on real life is located near to The Eiger, so Kazunori could had been taking pictures of that location too on the times of the GRAN TURISMO HD production (while the were on The Eiger) in order to produce the real version of that old Grindelwald from GRAN TURISMO 2.

La Sarthe looks a bit old on that trailer, like from GRAN TURISMO 4, look carefully at the protections at right, they're made like with not many polygons?

I thought El Capitan as well, and the same part of the track as was mooted before - i.e. the twisty bit immediately after exiting the tunnel on the forward version of the track? As for the timbered houses, that's quite intriguing... it could be a photomode (or something similar) location - or perhaps a new circuit in Stratford-upon-Avon :dopey:

Great find, though 👍 ... it almost makes me want to buy a Ferrari California... except it's not the prettiest Ferrari ever... and I couldn't even afford to insure one, let alone buy one... plus I live in Glasgow, where it rains every day :ill:...

That's really great news! Thanks for the info! 👍
I wonder when did PD start modelling the Ferrari California... as it would take them around 6 months to model a car from sketch...
Probably a few weeks. It takes 6 months worth of a single workers man power to make a car, it doesn't take a literal 6 months of PD's time. Say it takes 6 months of a single workers man power worth of time, and 6 people are involved in the process then it would be a 1 month job. I don't know how many people are involved in a each car, but it's going to be a few. I would imagine while one person is working on the exterior mesh another is working on the interior while another might be doing the wheels, brakes and details that get added on seperate to the main mesh and then you'll have the people who handle the data and input it and test it to make the car work in game how it should. Then you have the people who will handle the textures. A lot of these jobs can be done simultaniousely together rather than one after the other.

Well, this certainly makes up for the lack of E3 news, for me. 👍

Le Sarthe & Nurburgring still looked a lot like their GT4 versions, though.

May I ask the mods why this was moved to GT5 forum when in the video you can clearly see GT5: Prologue banners? This is more likely to be a Prologue feature than GT5....

Well, this certainly makes up for a lack of E3 news. I don't hate the styling but I hate that there is no manual transmission available. =(

What difference does that make? Le Sarthe & Nurburgring aren't in the Prologue, nor was that track with the large rocks next to it. There is nothing in that video that says this is a Prologue feature. By some rare chance, this car might not even appear in GT5, and Ferrari are just using the game to showcase it on their site.

Gran Turismo 5 is more than likely, the right section for it.

I think the "Unknown Track" is Grand Valley Speedway, going by the bridge the Ferrari crosses. I could be wrong though.

Didn't look like Grand Valley, the bridge shown was HSR I think, but I noticed the rocks too, looked like a windy cliff-edge road, intriguing...

Ow so nice! I want the Nordschleife...... or more tracks im gettig bored with only these we have

(sorry for bad englisch)

This looks quite real to me. There is so much detail in the rocks on the right and in the clouds on the left.

That could be the back stretch at Costa di'Amalfi

Hmmm, so could we expect an update with:
Ferrari California Coupe
Ferrari California Soft top
other new models?

Nurburgring
Le Mans
other tracks?

Promising indeed.

The Ferrari California is a convertible hard-top, so what you saw in that footage was the same car. I'm assuming that you will have the option of having the top up or down. Or it will be a decision you have to make when buying the car if you want it permanently up or down.
