Ferrari California will be in GT5 Prologue (Video)

Guys, PD are just teasing you guys with the 'official' details of the new update.
They will surprise us with 3 new tracks and 4 new cars.
That's all I have to say for now.

Any truth to this, or do you get your information from your friend in Japan whose uncle works for Polyphony too?

The "houses" in the reflection are likely just the houses in one of the "Photo Mode" backgrounds we see in the GT5P Menu, specifically the ones in Nurburg.

Oh? And where exactly did you dig up that nugget of information?

But what a hugely ugly Ferrari....
A friend suggested the California looks like a Japanese fish... so I obliged him. :sly:

This may random but it isn't. Has anyone been to Pacific Grove in California? Looks very similar to the unknown track. Also it relates even further going by the F149s name. Very similar. Could even have the possibilty of being the first point to point track in GT5. Just think about it

Personally, I'm one of the few who likes the way the Orochi looks. However, what in the Hell Mitsuoka was thinking when they gave it an automatic, I may never know.

i personnaly believe that the track with the houses on the side of the road might have been grinderwald ( or whatever its called) from GT2.
if any of u have a chance to play GT2 go to grinderwald and check out, I believe, it is two or three turns before the finish line right after the U turn. at the left there are a bunch of houses that look just like the ones in the vid

If they're including the new California, what about the original Ferrari California? I'd prefer to have that one, personally (Remember in the movie 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'?)

It's also been known as the hairdresser's car.

This is one new design I'm not a fan of.

I was just thinking that the Ferrari California could work out as good competition for the Jaguar XK, they are fairly similar engine wise, I dont know about weight though.

The video can now be downloaded from the Japanese GTTV. Apparently, the car itself will be shown to the public at the 2008 Paris Salon in october...

Maybe the XKR-S, but not the regular XK. It's more of a SL55 AMG competitor.

No way, the SL55 is way behind, I can beat it easy in GT anyway. The only cars that seem to be on par with the XK currently in GT5P are the DB9 and 512BB.
I agree though that a standard XK is a bit outclassed.

I finally got around to watching the California video, and I have to say I love the way he's driving without a helmet, as if he's just cruising instead of racing.

Hmm, i think we could be seeing 2 new tracks here. The clip with the mountains looks like its from the med, possibly Costa Di Almafi. The other looks much more flatter and seems to fit with the tudor housing, Im thinking somewhere near the Lake District, but could be the Grindelwald as previously said.

I think this is an okay car. It's not that bad. It's the first front/RWD Ferrari I've liked since the 599 series (by the way, Mitsuoka makes some of the damndest ugly cars in all of Japan whether a bigtime make or an independent or a tuner). I haven't seen the video. I also haven't made any kind of post for a thread that's been around for some time. At least I know I could take this car to the Spider and Roadster events, the FR Challenge events, and the Race of NA Sports (unless it's a turbo car, and turbo Ferraris are pretty rare. Probably has NEVER been one unless a custom turbo engine has been fitted into one). I'd race one top down or top up in GT5.

Um, John, buddy. It's been the only front engine, FR Ferrari built after the 599 GTB. ;)
