What win? you never had the win :sly:. Did a new PB in free air (in front of GTP_Jackstanley): 2'05.406. Think he must have done about the same time.

I'm using that last tune Ripping_silk posted on the previous page. Changed the gears a little, but that's all.

Don't know if you saw, but I was only 1.9 sec behind before you went off with 3 laps to go :)
But then again: catching is one thing, passing quite an other :sly:
 
Sorry Racer_LP for almost taking you out at the chicane. I got 2 wheels on the grass and couldnt brake so I had to dodge you and go down the escape road.

That was after I out braked mysely at the chicane. I was 3.9 up before that, but doesnt matter as I ruined it all by myself. :dunce: :)
 
And so the apologies continue, sorry guys, turn1 after the start was absolutely disgraceful from me :ouch:

Perhaps I should just go back to bed, but I love this event too much.

New PB lap again: 2'05.340 and total time of 21'01.xxx last race :)
 
Don't go Animera! I'm always enjoying racing you :D Except this last race, cause I so incredibly pissed off at that italian blue wrx i couldnt concentrate.
(i'll skip the next race btw)

Yeah, was a good race. Don't know first lap, but all others were 2'05's with 2 2'06's in between.

xx:50 race: First race I had with FAK_ev1l in it, or at least first race I could keep up -> host quits on lap 4:ouch:
 
I had 2 laps following Racer_LP after he caught and passed me, and I see what I'm doing wrong. I'm just too slow!! Its not the car, its my driving, I dont have the ability to race the car on the edge of its performance, so I guess I'll just have to keep practicing.

Thanks for the 2:06:121 I got while following you Racer_LP, I got so excited I almost went off at turn 1.

Just did another 21'01, but lap 1 was a 2'10, I got held up a little. Rest of the laps where between 2'05.8 and 2'05.3 :)

If I start in the top 3 and don't get held up, I'm quite sure I can do a sub 21' aswell, but it'll be close.

Thanks for the tune, ripping_silk. 👍 It's not easy to handle, but it's very fast. I changed the gears though. :)

Best I've done was a 5.8xx ... once. In probably 100 laps of running it! lol I get low 6's often, but not consistent. ah well.
seems I'm only good enough to drive the sand truck today though!

Ah, well this is what I had based my previous tune on :) but I found gearing still needed tweaking for me at least.

Camber: 2.2 1.7
Brake Bias: 5 5

6th: 0.883
Final: 4.843

As for how to drive it:

I don't use the clutch (use the paddles) and brake with my left foot. I think LFB helps to control the car, as it has a lot of lift off oversteer. And of course there are the gears I changed :)
 
Wicked fun earlier, great battles, saw a 2'05.1XX following RacerLP or some other missile around out there, I think I'm braking too early, my apologies to anyone trying to follow! I'll be on again in a little bit.

I swear there is tire wear, I'm always fading on the last few laps, especially through the esses. I know I'm nuts, it's all in my head!

lol. thanks. I don't honestly expect to learn how to drive it. I'm not at the skill level to fully utilise it, plain and simple. But i do use paddles and left foot brake too. I guess I just don't corner as fast.(or brake as well) :) As Animera said a few posts back, I (and he) are not at the level where we can keep on the edge a whole lap, let alone the whole race.
But, nice to know it a popular tune ! 👍

And all due respect given to GTP_Tzayad and Synwraith.
I originally started using a tune that Synwraith posted a ways back, modifying to suit me. That tune originally came from GTP_Tzayad. And if you compare 'my' and GTP_Tzayad's tune (which was originally for 600pp Daytona Road ?). They share a number of the same settings. namely suspension. So, credit where credit is due.

Gonna call it a day for this race tonight, i don't have the concentration for 10 laps (been driving back from holiday for the best part of 8 hours today). Good racing guys, catch you tomorrow.
 
That was very informative, following FAK and Stealthwinr around Suzuka and seeing the lines being used. Now I can see where I'm losing time. Thanks guys. 👍
 
Thanks for the tune ripping_silk. :sly: It's quite fun to drive with your set-up 👍 For me it seemed much quicker than the DC tune as well. With your set-up the car likes to be steered through the corner with the pedals and a bit of weight transfer. It has pretty predictable and controllable manners though. I think I may change the gears a bit though, as racer_LP did.

My best out in front was a 2:05.696. That was my second race so far with the 430 so there should be some room for improvement.
