The one punter in our race has 11 GTP'ers to choose from and he choses me as a brake first corner.

I'm am livid here, it is beyond the joke sometimes the lengths people will go to, when ruining someone elses enjoyment.

Was good, sorry i had to jump you guys when you got a bit tangled. But must take opportunity when it presents itself!

Looks like you were right about only having one direction for each of us to go!

I can't believe I let you both through on the last lap :banghead:

Sorry for holding everyone up at the beginning of the last race, the GT40 was bouncing all over the place and his brake lights kept flashing too, I just didn't want to ruin my race trying a silly manoeuvre.

God knows what setup Vaxen was using, but it appeared low grip & high power. I would be all over him in the turns then on the straights he would just go.

Going bed now, been up for 20 hours, I can no longer focus and keep making silly mistakes.

Night all or Morning.

Oh god how fast people are driving in this event!

This event really is not, 'jump in and have a equal battle'-type of event. I better go to sleep, and do some testing tomorrow. It's very depressing to get beaten by 3sec per lap to others with same vehicles! I can only hope that half of that cap, is cause I'm so too tired... if not, I'm in deep trouble. :nervous:

That was a literal 20 second tune, and I was using S3/S3...

Apologies for all the folks I held up in the esses. :ouch:

The next race I switched to the DC tune with the much more reasonable R1/R1 foundation, and did quite a bit better.

Thanks guys for another excellent night of racing.👍

It's way past my bedtime so I shall say goodnight/good morning. :)
Dan

Well driven ripping_silk. I managed a PB of 2:06:354 while following you, until my nerves packed up on lap 6, while you were cool as a cucumber. 👍

pressure, pressure !! I was well aware of you.. I thought i had you covered on lap 2 i think, pulled a gap, then you hauled me back in... kept well on me. til you spun :( My best was an 06:232. 21:11 race. One of my quicker ones. i just can't keep hitting that time though. Next lap might be 0.5 off. Nice battle ! :)

mad94d does 05.2's .?? sheesh!

doh, just missed the xx:20 meet. Sorry if you were there Animera.

You are over a 1.5 seconds better than me

I use the TZT Daytona Road tune. With R1's. For some reason it works brilliantly. It is so stable and easy to drive fast. Main Reason I kept with that tune is because I couldn't be bothered to go and find a suzuka one. I don't think i'm gonna change it now though. Thanks GTP_Tzayad for this awesome tune:tup:

here it is:

Power:-14
Weight:89
tyres:R1
ride height:0,+3
spring rate:6, 2
Damper: 6, 2
toe: +0.20, -0.21
camber: 2.5, 2.0
brake bias:4,5
Turning Angle: 42
TC:embarrassed:ff
ABS:1

Gearing
1st:2.838
2nd:1.940
3rd:1.541
4th:1.257
5th:1.039
6th:0.860
Final:4.440

Hope this helps some people.

No worries, I also missed xx:20, having a coffee and nerves break.

Going to try those settings Mad94d, although I dont have your skills with the wheel.

I'm done for the day. Thanks to everyone I raced, GTP_Animera, TIZZLAAA, ripping_silk, GTP_RussRobit, GTP_Vaxen. Sorry if I missed anyone.
Best online Racing I've had so far.👍 Thanks Animera for making this event.👍

Its definitely faster than the tune I was using, which was a concoction of a bunch of other tunes plus some personal tweaking. Turn 1 and spoon are difficult to get right though.

Really, I love turn 1 and spoon with this tune. I can get super fast exit speed out of those two corners with this tune. Thanks again to GTP_Tzayad for making this tune. I know it's for 600pp Daytona Road, but it's excellent at this event as well.

after my initial umm.. acclimatisation with it..(say sand), i got a 6.269 from it. Not quick, but close to my best. A few more laps i could get under 6 perhaps. Difficult to drive though. Which I expected with those rather high toe settings. Other the that, it was not far from what my tune was. maybe I'll nudge the toe back a little and feel my way into it.

I was able to do 6's with it straight away. But after racing it a few times I got down into the 5's.:D I don't know how to tune very well so I've just left it as it is.

Wow, this is hilarious. I haven't raced or tuned since mid december, and you all are trying to put a square peg into a round hole. I will be reopening my garage with tunes specific for this event within the next week. Thanks Maz and Mad94d for the great feedback, I'm so glad the tune is working so well for you.

With the power increase, completely different track dynamics, and tires, there are a ton of changes I'd like to make. Feel free to keep using the 600PP tune if you wish. I think the 650PP tune may work better, however.

Ripping-silk, I know what you mean about the toe settings. Though the toe would be a lot more appropriate in, lets say, a tune specific for the event it's being used for, the car needs less steering input than you think. I only speak from how it drove on DR. Think more like the tuned 111r. Also, try playing with the max turning angle. On suzuka, I tune the turning angle on T1, and I try to find a setting where I feel comfortable in the turn, arm-wise. Glad you had some success with it though, thanks for giving it a shot!

In this post is GTP_JackStanley's lap from testing the 600PP DR tune. You can get a better idea of the tune from his lap than anything I could type.

And the gearing is a ways off for Suzuka too. I knocked toes to +10 / -10 and achieved the same lap time, but easier I think. I'll put the gearing back to what i had, and then we might be getting somewhere.
oh, and I did reduce camber a couple of points at both ends.

will miss xx;20 while i do these gears and take a break.

At this point, I'll take anything that makes me go faster. Going to try those changes you suggested ripping_silk.

Glad my tune is being used as a base. Hopefully the enthusiasm for this event won't wane for when I enter!

Synwraith made a mashup tune from the TZT tune as well, might as well take a look at his gears.

Combined TZT and Volcano tune for 650PP 10-laps at Suzuka Ferrari F430 Challenge:

Power: -14
Weight: 89
Tyres: R1 R1
Ride Height: 0 +3
Spring Rate: 6 2
Damper: 6 2
Toe: +0.20 -0.21
Camber: 2.5 2.0
Brake Bias: 4 5
Max Turning Angle: 42
Traction Control: Off
ABS: 1

1st: 2.838
2nd: 1.940
3rd: 1.541
4th: 1.307
5th: 1.082
6th: 0.904
Final: 4.843

Capable of 2'05s, dont be afraid to brake super late into turn 1.

All the best
Maz

Here is my 650PP tune from DR. Better settings for the upgraded power.
The gears are still inappropriate for Suzy

Ah, well this is what I had based my previous tune on :) but I found gearing still needed tweaking for me at least.

So, this is what I will run next go:

Power: -14
Weight: 89
Tyres: R1 R1
Ride Height: 0 +3
Spring Rate: 6 2
Damper: 6 2
Toe: +0.09 -0.09
Camber: 2.2 1.7
Brake Bias: 5 5
Max Turning Angle: 42
Traction Control: Off
ABS: 1

1st: 2.838
2nd: 1.940
3rd: 1.541
4th: 1.307
5th: 1.054
6th: 0.883
Final: 4.843

that looked better for you Animera. ??
I cracked the 5's on the last lap. 5.8XX something.. it disappeared too quick. 21:08 race. best I've been.

Thats a nice setup to drive ripping_silk. Would have made my best race time if it wasnt for my customary "once per race spinout".
