the f430 turns out to be the car with the 2nd most miles on the odometer :odd: and I'm still not satisfied with my driving style
you all did a great job last night ,especially @ marcus for these outer-space lap times:eek:
@daddyo845 for the great victory:bowdown:
@BrandonW77 for hosting and an epic battle
and last but not least @amarynceos for messing up turn 2 :ouch:

about brands hatch !
whats about the concrete in druids and graham hill
I'm for driving the whole corner like it's possible in the gt academy lap , because it will be to difficult to avoid the concrete and to tedious to control everybody staying inside :odd:
this is just an idea .
I'm starting practising in a few minutes and set some times to compare:cheers:
edit : I don't want to sound picky but I think weve also have to talk about westfield and sheen's corner because I saw myself cutting these corners for a better exit .:odd:

The concrete outside the curbs at Druids and Graham are fair game, as long as two wheels are on the concrete (good luck getting two wheels on the grass outside the concrete and surviving  ). At Westfield try to keep to keep two wheels on the red/white curb. Sheene.....I take a different line through there every time because it's blind and very difficult. Try to keep two wheels on the red/white curb but the main goal should just be to get through safely. I'm not going to be too tough on that one because I know I'll end up unintentionally cutting it a time or two. Please.......DO NOT try to pass at Sheene!! :odd:

"Right" "grass"

Well I did about 10 laps at Brands Hatch. My best lap was 1:39.921. It is a fun car to drive. I may be able to hit close to 1:39 with the wind behind me and some luck. But that's probably it. I think someone mention 1:35's, so sounds about right for me. There's 2 tricky turns here..... Turn 1(Paddock Hill) and Turn 8 (Sheene corner).:embarrassed:

(is it just me or is it difficult to type using your smart phone)?

I did a few laps and I think I was getting high 1:37s. I'm pretty sure I will be Abe to get it down to 1:37 or more by Saturday. Very fun car to drive. I just have problems at brands hatch because there is so much room for error.

Yes it is kinda difficult typing on a smart phone which is probably why I have so many spelling and grammatical errors.

Give it a go on SM and see if that puts you closer to 1:35-1:36. 👍

@daddyo845 if you're in the 37's on SH I'd say you're good, with practice you might touch the 36's which should put you in the front half of the pack.

I plan to have a room up in three or four hours for some practice, feel free to join if you see my room open.

@BrandonW77 - About time someone set up a decent race event around here! This might just be the thing that gets me into GT6, if you'll have me of course. ;) I'll sign up for the Saturday one.

By the way, is everything in GT Auto allowed, like Chassis Rigidity Improvements etc?

👍

👍

Of course, we've had some great racing so far. 👍

This week will be the Daytona GTB4 on SH at Brands Hatch GP. I'll get the car selection updated in the OP for next week's combo.

Cool. Your so quick to answer, I edited my post!

as far as I know , body rigidity improvement is not allowed .
only oil change ,restaurations and a good hand wash from time to time .
@BrandonW77 ,correct me if I'm wrong

I can't police body rigidity so I have to allow it. Whatever the game deems acceptable under tuning prohibited restrictions (brake bias, power limiter, body rigidity, wheels, tires, paint) is legal. 👍

I honestly never made the chassis rigidity , because it's forbidden in every series I'm running .
I'm thinking about giving it a try to check out if there's any difference and if I could join a tuning prohibited lobby

You can enter a tuning prohibited room with chassis rigidity done. It doesn't make a lot of difference, I've had a couple cars that were actually worse with it done.

I remember that it wasn't possible to enter in a tuning prohibited lobby with the chassis rigidity improvement on GT5 so I assume it's the same on GT6

EDIT: forget this lol

I will try sm on this weeks combo in practice (ie not in the actual race) although I'm pretty certain I will be too fast. I just wanna test it to be sure. I think I may be able to be reasonably competitive on sh this time.

I was so glad that Brands Hatch was added to the GT6 track list as it's a track that is definitely a favourite of mine. I was lucky enough to have attended the last F1 GP that was held there way back in 1986 so I have many fond memories of the place.

Here's a few pics I took at the time. The quality isn't great because I simply used my phone to take pics of the original prints.

I have more, which I can post if you wish, but this batch were taken at Clearways and I'll never forget the roar of these 1.5L 4 cylinder turbo engines. Unlike the case with this year's F1 power units, nobody was complaining about the lack of noise. Sure, they didn't sound nearly as exotic as the V12s, V10s and V8s of previous and latter years but the drama of 1,200+ bhp propulsion more than made up for it!

Spot the special connection between the 6 drivers here?

I figured it out......these are all examples of the best looking F1 cars of all time. :P

No, I really have no idea. I don't know enough about the era of F1......I need to rectify that.

All six are world champions?

I had no idea who was in the cars, never would have guessed. I'm a sad excuse for an F1 fan, I know. :dunce:

In other news, I've posted the next car/track combo for May 6th & 10th. I will be visiting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that weekend to attend the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis (IndyCars on the road course, see below) so I thought it would be fun to do a race there before I visit The Speedway. We will take the 512 BB to the road course and slap some SM tires on it (still slippy on SM but manageable). Also, the Grand Prix is on that Saturday so I will not be able to host, if anyone is willing to be a guest host for that day let me know.
