No! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I refuse to race red bull cars online!!! :banghead:

I'm with you as far as it goes with the standard and fan Red Bulls but I have found that the Junior version can provide some entertaining racing.

Yeah the juniors are kind of fun. I don't mind as much using the red bulls to grind but I will never race them online because it will be a disaster. I have around 6 mil as well so I'm not that concerned either. And yes you can win the Enzo by getting all of the stars in international a so it will take quite a while. Plus you will be able to get enough creds from one go at the red bull standard championship.

Ps: whenever I race anything directly after using the standard cars, I absolutely suck . I forget that I'm not driving a car that can go 300mph and can turn on a dime while traveling at said speed.

So, what's the diffence between a numbered lap race and a timed race? Any kind of advantages? Seems to be the same amount of laps give or take one.
I know its mostly for endurances races.
??

Well it means the race director does not need to figure out how many laps they need to make a race a certain length.

That's the main advantage from my point of view. Also, it's just something different. I've basically been doing the same thing with online racing for the last 3-4 years so it's nice to have something different, even if it's a small difference. I find it to be quite a change to not know exactly how many laps are left, so I tend to not focus on that and just settle into the race. Every few laps I glance up to see how much time is left and when we get close enough to the end I start trying to figure how many laps are left and what my strategy should be. Nothing major, but something new for my brain to do in the middle of a race. But yes, it's awesome to not have to figure out how many laps we need to hit a certain time frame (for me, anyway). 👍

Ok. I never raced a timed race. So was just wondering.

Edit: I agree, something different. And you don't know how laps are left. Does it count laps anyway?

It shows which lap you're on but not how many are left (as that isn't determined until near the end of the race). It shows a little timer on the left of the screen, just like during a qualifier, and it turns yellow when there is less than 3 minutes left in the race.

I got 1:40.4 around the track..... maybe can break under :39's but would be it.. I kinda like the feel of this car.

Online or offline, and which tires? On SH I was able to get down to a :41.8, got a :41.5 in me but no more and I'm absolutely wringing its neck around there. After 10 laps or so @SagarisGTB hasn't beat my time so I'm thinking that's a pretty good one. Don't think I'll be cracking the 40's, certainly not the 39's.

Yes, Fast wear and neither should be a problem. After 15 laps I still had 10's all around except a 9 on the right rear, and over half a tank of petrol. I can't slide the car around enough to get into the 40's, I'll make do with my 41's.

(Doesn't matter, turn 6 will kill me at least a few times.)

It was online... with tire wear set to fast. Are the stock tires SH? I didn't check the tires. I did 12 laps..... every lap I was getting A fast time. does sound strange now because I'm ALWAYS 4-5 seconds behind everyone. My tires started wearing around 11 laps. Sounds to good to be true.

Yeah, SH is stock. Interesting. If I string everything together perfectly I could maybe get a 40.9 but no more than that and not consistently.

Because passing is so difficult here I think I'm going to run slipstream at weak to make overtakes just a little easier and hopefully keep forced moves and tension to a minimum. It's still pretty weak and will really only help on the front stretch but with it on Real it's almost impossible to pass, even going into turn 1, which could lead to some untidiness. 👍

Aye, passing is going to be tough here no doubt.

Interesting indeed. I know for sure it was in the 1:40's. Did the update make me better!!??:lol::lol:

EDIT: I ran some laps late last night to make sure of my times. And I got 1:44's... must of been some type of bug because I'm 100% positive I had pulled a 1:40.xxx and had said to myself i can reach 1:39's. Oh well! :guilty:

Isn't it called 'gas' across the pond?

I try to distance myself from the natives whenever possible. :sly:

No offense intended, but........WHEW!!! Feel free to toss some SM tires on there as long as they don't drop you below the 41's. 👍

HAHA! Its quite alright. I knew something was up as soon as I noticed when I had the fastest lap. But for a split second I was impressed with myself . Anyways I'll stick with the SH tires. I'm sure I'll have some company in the back.

I've been running a Nissan GTR at Mount Panorama for GT Academy. Down to a 2:16.083 lap at the moment.:)

No time for practice with the Ferrari Dino, so don't expect me to challenge anyone for the win at Laguna Seca.;):D

See you on the tracks!

Reminder that we're racing the Dino on SH at Laguna Seca this evening. The room should be up by 7pm EDT, qualifying for the first race will start at 7:30 and the second race should begin a bit after 8pm. We will be doing timed races (15min/30min) with the new False Start feature.

Like this post if you'll be attending. 👍
