Amar got 2nd and 3rd. Congrats!

Thanks! I was pleasantly surprised, given how horribly rusty I was in the Zero Cup after over a week of not racing. 'Should' have been second in the second race too (maybe even first!), but I made two hugely costly errors. :irked:

I may be one of the few that really like Big Willow, but I think the Red Bull Ring would be much much better. The straights really allow one to open up the taps and enjoy the speed that is one of the Enzo's few virtues (in my opinion).

Just did a 30 minute test to feel it out. Keeping in mind many of my laps had big lockups, off-track excursions and couple of tyre-eating spins, at the end of the run tyres were 8/9 up front at 6 rear, and there was little drop-off in pace (unlike the 599 where some of us were 3 seconds slower at the end of the run!). In fact, as the rears went away the porcine beast actually started to become enjoyable to drive. 👍 Ran out of go-juice not too long after the 30 minute mark.

I have to do a clean run at some point to determine whether it can go the distance on fuel -- while I burned up a lot more recovering from spins and lighting up the rears coming back on track from trips to the park and the beach, I probably would end up doing another lap in a 30 minute run (19 instead of 18) and I don't know if it could make it.

Personally, it would be great fun to extend the feature race to 40 minutes with a pit stop. :D But the easy (and boring) solution is to turn wear down in the feature race. :indiff:

I have given the Red Bull ring couple of tries with different cars since it was introduced to the game. I really can't find any fun in that circuit... It is like what someone said about Motegi Ring: Straight, slow turn, Straight, slow turn. Then there is the most annoying blind corner on any track with the decoy turn on the background... Just hate the track :yuck:

Also with the Enzo the slow turns are almost impossible on second gear so need to use third almost all the time to get a nice line...

I might just skip the next combo. Can't get motivated to do any more runs.

End of whine :ill:

Red Bull Ring seems fine for higher powered things to me, has some interesting little complexes in it with a bit of elevation change. Haven't tried it with any Ferrari, been busy of late but I imagine the Enzo would work OK there. Hate all the Willow circuits, though I quite like a lot of the original circuits that most people don't go much on so perhaps I'm just a bit odd.

I can't believe all the dislike for Big Willow, it's one of my favourites. I will have to miss this week as I am going to Watkins Glen for the 6 hours. I was really looking forward to Big Willow. I really am not a fan of the Red Bull Ring, it's pretty lifeless to me. (I actually drove it in reverse for fun...and found it to be a much better circuit. :P )

@MC-Chase Yeah, it should be a good time. I've been before, I quite liked the experience. And I think the Glen is a fantastic track, after seeing it in person. Many different kinds of corners, and elevation changes.

As for Willow Springs...well...I'm not often looking at the scenery :embarrassed:. But I like it, the minimalist look. I like the challenge of the braking. Every lap the last corner requires a delicate touch. I like the flow of the course overall. Anyway, that's just me though!

I remember first seeing it on a game called 'Grand Prix Legends', it's rare it ever gets much TV coverage over here but it looks like a pretty superb track, big swooping corners, bit of banking, bit of elevation, all good stuff!

Final corner on Willow is OK, but as you come out onto the back straight it just kind of narrows in for me - hard to find a satisfying line. I like turn 1 and 2 best, there's a dead shrub I normally use for a braking marker and getting a good run off turn 1 into turn 2 I find quite satisfying, especially in FWD things. Again though, I like Trial Mountain and everyone hates that so my opinion probably doesn't correspond with the norm.

I hate the last corner on big willow although I agree t1 and 2 can be pretty fun. Pretty much hate the rest of the track.

???!!!! Hate trial mountain??!! I absolutely love trial mountain. It's one of my favorites and its been with me since gt4. I'm not really the biggest fan of those city tracks that came with gt5 and carried over to gt6. I despise London no offense to you Englishman. I'm sure they could've made a better track in London. I'm starting to like Madrid a bit more. I've always liked the ssr though.

Hey guys, how many people would be interested in a new POWER event?
Please like this post if you're interested in taking part. If we have enough interest I'll whip up something. I'm also open for car suggestions :) (within relevance)

If you haven't been in a POWER event, take a look at our previous one: http://goo.gl/VaH0dX

@daddyo845 would you still like to host an event?

I like the A1 Ring, though I haven't actually raced on it. I tend to like tracks that have long(ish) straights followed by twisty bits, better chances for overtaking. I don't like Trial Mountain because it only has one proper passing zone which causes people to get impatient and try to make pass attempts at other turns which often results in bent metal. This can be said for several of the Original circuits which is why I don't care for most of them. Grand Valley and Apricot Hill are both proper race tracks with a good combination of straight bits and twisty bits with multiple passing zones. I also like at least one or two decent length straights to promote a bit of drafting which helps keep the field from turning into a glorified hot lapping session. Some of the Original circuits are great fun to drive on, just not to race on.

Cape Ring almost angers me. 90% of the track is quite good, then they smoked some drugs and decided to put a cloverleaf on-ramp and a jump in the middle of it, effectively ruining the whole circuit. :odd: To think about how much time they spent making that track when they could have been making a proper circuit.......:banghead: Same with all the Matterhorn's, some brilliant pieces of circuit ruined by blind turns over crests that launch your car into the guardrail. Time well spent on those tracks.

Anyway, not a lot of options for the Enzo then. I took it around Grand Valley Full last night and it was pretty good (as long as you brake very early for the first hairpin). So if there aren't too many objections we can take it there instead of Willow or the Austrian track. 👍

EDIT: I like Autumn Ring too but don't think it would be a good fit for the Enzo.

Ugh, Grand Valley. I know it is a popular track with many people, but I just cannot stand that place -- every. single. corner. feels like a chore to me. :yuck: :yuck: :yuck:

Fuji GT would be a good fit, but I am quite well aware of the director's feelings about that track.

I prefer the Austrian option. 👍

Sorry for my whine about A1. Maybe it is just the fact that I am painfully slow to learn a new track... If anyone around tonight could do some test laps / sparring?

Interesting. I like grand valley but I don't really like Fuji. Personally the last section of turny bits on Fuji is the part that I despise. I remembered the 80's and 90's version in gt4 and I liked those much better.

No worries about whining  we all have our likes and dislikes. I happen to agree about that blind turn with the deceptive bit of track... haven't found my braking points for that one yet!

I'll be on in an hour or so to do another test run -- I want to get a better handle on the Enzo's fuel/tyre burn.

I have a Free Run Lobby up. Trying to get some feel of Red Bull Ring in a Honda S2000 with CM tyres at the moment.

What is the policy of cutting the outside on few of the exits. Seems the car wants to go there a lot and the grip seems better than on the track... Especially last and second last turn.

A lot of the F1 boys were having their qualy laptime negated if they went out of bounds at the second last corner. You can carry more speed and lower your laptime by going wide so I presume it would be frowned upon.

My rule on all tracks is that two tires must stay inside the white line or on the curb (whichever is furthest out). During a race if you feel like you cut, a simple lift of the throttle and no gaining of advantage/position will satisfactorily rectify it (as long as it doesn't happen every lap). 👍

I think I had over 50 laps yesterday. Beginning to like the track. And those coloured plates at the edge of the track which I thought give better traction. With more speed they are scary. Sometimes they bounce you upwards, sometimes, if you try to accelerate from one it pulls you to the grass/sand like a magnet. Very interesting considering a race.

It is a scary combo but I like it:tup:
