Sorry about bailing, but I was under continuous pressure from others to start the Colombia-Uruguay match and I broke after I fell to the back. I had a plan to get 2nd in race 2, but I messed up my braking in T1 and any chances of a strong finish evaporated.

It was fun to see some aliens show up with maybe little less practice than usual and give us mortals some chance. I don't expect it to happen often.

It was fun following @SagarisGTB and @kHamcio and @Litchi for several laps and even fighting for position with them 👍

Sorry @amarynceos once again. From replay I saw that even if my missed braking and the following dive bomb might have only slightly touched you, it still cost you two positions early in the first race :ouch:

My new found speed is not yet matched with my racing skills so I try to be more careful in the future :embarrassed:

Also had fun matchup with the regular opponents @hobbsy and @BrandonW77. All in all it was a very entertaining night of racing 👍

I was doing better than expected, with not putting down any practice before the races. Really like that circuit, it's of the more "race track-esk" original circuits from PD.

Anyone who is not in the know, I'll be hosting some racing tonight (room opens 9pm BST).
Check links below for details.

Good racing last night guys. 👍

I'm sorry guys not to show up last night:indiff:
wife was not at home and I spend 8h with only bathroom/coffee pitstops on another game :D
was quite exhausted after the sessions and not in the physical shape to tame that 599 around apricot hill
looked like you had good races though 👍 see you all next week

Grid autosport was the reason and I'm feeling like cheating my wife (GT) because I'm having so much fun with it :D
took a while to figure out a decent wheel setup , but at the moment I'm totally amazed what they did after the rubbish grid2 👍

I'll join the ruf cup of course

mmmh I'm definitely not able to give a proper rating ,but I'll try ;)
the game has a slight floaty feeling which I was able to eliminate due the huge wheel options .
the car handles as I expect them to , ff,fh,mh, you feel the difference.
understeering, oversteering , everythings there and good to catch.
overall, I would say it's easier and a bit arcady compred to GT .but , and thats my biggest + I'm having so much fun offline , they really nailed it . what they also nailed is the sound , when I only think about GT would sound like this :scared:
I would definitely buy it again 👍

Amarynceos always says that ravencraft always wins. They are nearly unbeatable he says. I definetely wish I had competitive ai. Not only because it would be more fun but it would also simulate more of a real online race and would help me practice my racecraft more. It doesn't help when I can pass an ai every turn.

ravenwest:D, yes , I call them hamcio or longbow 👍 .
I'm playing on hard difficulty , no aids exept abs and they are a real challenge and I often end on third position. they only seem to suck in the open wheel and the muscle category .
but lets stop bombing brandons thread , just give it try , you won't regret .
but don't miss saturdays ferrari festival :D

Last one from me then, was reading in another post on GTP, by a guy from codemasters... He claimed and suggested that the game was designed with no ABS in mind, and therefore was a much better experience. Also that it does not perform in the same way GT does, you still get lockups etc but I think those sudden rear end swaps are a lot less likely.

Give it a go without the ABS @KingKlingeling :)

I'm starring at the purchase price on amazon and thinking... Maybe, just maybe! ;)

Good racing Saturday (apparently my attempt at posting the results did not submit). Nice to see a good crowd again. I really enjoy Apricot Hill and the 599 seemed to go well there. Congrats to @Michouw on the sweep and impressive speed. @kHamcio, @LongbowX, @KingKlingeling, @Litchi, and @SagarisGTB , you've got some new competition so consider yourselves warned!

I don't mind if you guys talk about off-topic stuff here, I generally enjoy it. :) I'm curious about the new Grid, but not enough to purchase it. It's interesting to see just how much value basic things like a worthwhile offline mode and good sounds add to a game, and it points out just how dismal these things are in GT. When I read about the FIA partnering with GT/PD my first thought was "I guess nobody from the FIA has actually played GT6 then, otherwise they probably wouldn't want to be associated with it". Some tracks may get "FIA Certified" but the AI and the sounds certainly won't!

So, I took the Enzo around A1/RB Ring last night and actually quite enjoyed it. Much better than I thought it would be and even the blind left-hander was pretty easy to navigate. Since the notion of this track received less negative feedback than Big Willow I think we're just going to go ahead and take the Enzo to the new track. We don't have many other options (IMO) that the Enzo will work on so we're just going to have to suck it up and give it a go. Have a crack at it, I think most will actually find it at least tolerable if not enjoyable.

On that note, I think I'm going to have to put things on hold for a week. I've had something pop up for tomorrow night that will prevent me from being able to host and there's a chance I might not be able to make it Saturday either (TBD). Rather than scramble and try to find guest hosts I think we'll just take a week off. This will give people a chance to practice up on the new track and I can try to hold a couple practice sessions at some point this week so we can all get ready to race in Austria.

Well, it turns out I will be available Tuesday afterall, and probably Saturday. So we can keep things going as planned unless you guys want an extra week to practice at the new 'Ring.

Im really not sure it will be safe for me to be behind the wheel after the USA Belgium game.

The what now? And is it ever really safe for you to be behind the wheel?? :odd:

The USA is playing Belgium in the World Cup tomorrow and I'm taking full advantage of it. It is never safe for me to be behind the wheel, but life wouldn't be fun if everything we did was "safe".

I'm still not comprehending that first part. Is that some kind of race where the trophy is shaped like a hollowed out globe? :P

Well, my Tuesday cleared up but it was rescheduled for Saturday during race time so we'll just stay on hiatus for the week. I should be able to hold a practice session tomorrow at the normal time though so we can get acclimated to the new track and make sure it's going to work ok. Thanks for your patience. 👍

... I tried not to say anything but...

You know in US you have the World Series and National Football league...?

The World Cup is similar to them but the Teams actually represent most of the World and the game actually has a round Ball played mostly by Foot.

Sooo.........it's a combination of this....

....and this?

Sounds like that should be a helluva race! USA!! USA!! USA!! :gtpflag:

(I checked the internetz and none of the Murican racing series have any events called the World Series or NFL)

:P

EDIT: Feet are meant for pressing pedals, not moving balls around!
