Since when did gtplanet turn into a pornographic website?!

Since today, and I full approve. Clothed Katy Perry is better than most porn anyway!!

And if you're not ok with that then

^ That one right there puts me into a crisis. :nervous:

Oh my, what have I started!!!

Best change the subject before we get the attention of the mods... Speaking of Mods, Warwick is full of them tonight, Paul Weller is playing at the Castle tonight.. For those of you not in the know, I'm referring to this man...

And these guys...

And when you think Mods, you also think of

1-.jpg

Put the two together, and you get this...

Actually there is a section within GTPlanet called "The Infield"... in here you will find a thread called "The Daily Babe thread", which has approximately 11'750 posts!!!

and I would happily post the link, but unfortunately its called the Infield for a reason :sly:

So with that in mind.... "Rock on Tommy!"

^ The first part of that completely derailed me and things started to get all non-crisis-y, but then I got to the last photo........

Here, let me attempt to get things back on track again.....

(what a great way to spend a Friday at work!)

👍.

Yeah I'm down for the parity thing - sounds good to me. Any reason why you would limit it to 5 or 6 cars  I mean I'm not particularly against it or anything I'm just curious as to the reasoning behind it.

EDIT: can I request the FTO be available as a choice for one of the races?

EDIT EDIT: Yeah forget that original bit I just went back and read some posts (there was a lot of posts and I am DAMN lazy).

EDIT EDIT EDIT: I still want to keep that FTO request though.

K thx bi 👍.

It wouldn't always be limited to that few, just for certain themes. Sometimes the theme would be 90's Japanese FR cars, for example, which would allow a whole plethora of cars.

@BrandonW77, do you have a range in which we should be able to complete a lap in. In other words, a certain maximum split one can have off the desired time to complete a lap. Like one should not be more than half a second off the pace to complete a lap?

I think something like that would be the ultimate goal, yes. The concept is that if everyone is consistently within a few tenths of each other then the racing is really incredible and intense. Obviously everyone can vary a bit from one lap to the next so you'd probably aim a couple tenths under the target to give yourself room to improve as you learn the car/track.

Im going to miss today's race for the world cup and after tomorrow I can stop caring about soccer for another 4 years. I be back on Tuesday.

To clarify, by tuning all that's really necessary is adding/removing power and/or weight. Tinkering with suspension and LSD bits would not be necessary at all.

I setup a Trueno in less than 5 minutes in a test session just now. The fun thing is that there is no need to try to get the last bit of power to the road. It is enough to get it feel good enough and meet the target time 👍

Edit: Another great thing about allowing setups is that I can finally try ABS0 using DS!

Shelby Cobra Race Car and from L.S.D settings Brake Sensitivity to 5 and Brake Bias 2/3 OMG! This opens a whole new level of funness in the game for me

We're at Daytona this Tuesday then?

(I pity anyone too young/old to not remember that tune from the arcades in the early nineties).

Didn't we use the F430 on SH last time? Or am I just imagining things?

I've never heard that song though. :guilty:

Did you never play Daytona USA in the big cockpit arcade machine as a kid? I remember it was the first game I played with polygon graphics . Wasted all my pocket money on it for a good two months!

I had several, but it probably all started with this...
Dynamic weather, time change and more than 16 cars on track!

Then most memorable was this in the arcades as a youth

Behold what was my very first racing rig, circa ~1984. The controller acted as a shifter between hi and low gear, obviously brakes were yet to be invented.

I think Outrun will forever be king really 👍. Even now on the rare occasional I still see a machine in the wild I always end up putting a few quid in it - maybe one day I'll end up buying my own!

That a Coleco ADAM computer Brandon? Really showing your age there!!!

I knew it as Colecovision. We got one around '83 or '84 I think, I was 6 or 7. Had all kinds of games but Turbo was the only one that worked with the wheel. Spy Hunter was a classic too, between that and Knight Rider I have an unreasonable fondness for driving into and out of the back of a moving truck. :dopey:

This was my first adventure into arcade racing games... Atari Hard Drivin'! My local bowling alley had one and I can't even begin to think how many hours and hundreds of dollars worth of quarters I spent in this thing while my parents where having league night. I loved that it had a 4 speed H pattern shifter and an actual clutch pedal that you had to use to start the car and shift with if you selected the manual transmission option. The bowling alley later got a OutRun game as well but it was the standup variety, so it sucked in comparison.

My local mall had Hard Driving, with clutch and shifter and starter and loop-de-loop and cow and all. It's no wonder I turned out like I did!

Never saw this in the arcade I had the Mega Drive version though (Genesis?) and it really was a bunch of ****. Arcade looks good though!

that Hard Drivin looks surprisingly good for its time... and if i close my eyes, i could believe i was listening to Gran Turismo!!! :sly:

ok what would you rather have, a masterfull triple screen rig, or one of these...

THis has got to be the best full motion rig i've seen (for its footprint). The movement is dramatic and sharp, but i'm not sure I could concentrate properly seeing the room spin round behind the screen!!! :boggled:

SEGA F355 Challenge. Triple screen arcade heaven!

See you guys tonight btw.

Where did you find such witchcraft?!?! I never saw anything like this over here, I don't recall any arcade game having triple screens.

Often times my neighbor is outside with his leaf blower and at first I think he has a big outdoor Gran Turismo setup.

I'd still prefer my stationary triple-screen rig, that thing looks incredibly disorienting and I'd guess it breaks down a lot. And having the room spinning around would make me
