Also, I decided to give you a premium membership etiquette for my acknowledgment. Thanks for all advices you given to me, all arguments for both G27 and fanatec wheels and for your time spent to answer to me 👍

:gtpflag:

Why thank you! My premium expired a bit before GT6 came out and I never bothered to renew it. I'm always happy to help with any advice, especially if it's a subject I know something about. :D I hope you love the wheel (after you adjust to it and get the brake pedal worn-in)!

That's one of many reasons why I like GTplanet........always helpful and full of good people. :embarrassed::tup:

For certain! (as long as you don't wander too far out into the general population!)

Moved here, I hope you don't mind Brandon.

In the meantime, everyone please feel free to toss about some ideas to help get my/our creative juices flowing!

I have been thinking of maybe hosting a Single Event Parity Racing Event themed "Out of Tune - Tribute to the Vocational School Auto Mechanics World Wide" :D

The Idea would be to make a silly tune in the theme of the tunes the Do-it-yourself tuners of real life have. The twist is that you would intentionally make the tune ridiculous in some way. Too low and stiff or add Supercharger and limit power to 60% or anything that seems to (not-)work

Using the Parity theme I could set some target time maybe based on the Shigeno AE86 using Comfort Soft ...

Also instead of OLR rules side to side scraping and bumber to bumber nudging would be highly encouraged (not ramming and bouncing from sides obviously)

Still just an idea :D

Would this be interesting to people?

I don't know if I'd want to put in the effort to deal with coming up with a crappy tune, but I would totally be down for a single event where scraping and using the bumpers would be encouraged.

Same here. I'm bad enough at tuning that I couldn't even do a ridiculous tune. Too bad we don't still have Top Gear track to do figure-eight races. We could pimp out some Samba Buses and do this.

Yeah, the out-of-tuning part could be completely optional. Completely Stock Shigeno AE86 would also be an option.

That could be fun. If this works It could be a monthly Special Event to relax and let off some built up steam

I might just set something up and see if it catches up any interest. I was thinking 80's Theme for the first one. There is a lot of option to go for which could make a colorful grid 👍

It's a beautiful day at The Speedway.

Anyone played with the new update yet? The ability to put number plates on more cars greatly excites me. It seems they can only go on premium cars, but I can't find out which ones. Is it all premium cars? If so, that's awesome.

it worked on every premium road car I've tried so far exept the merc sls and the fxx .
on the most average mid powererd cars its working and its awesome 👍

I spent over an hour last night slapping numbers on cars and tweaking parts on those that are Parity racing candidates (up until the wheel glitch crashed my PS3). Really loving it, it's such a small thing but adds so much to online racing IMO.

Number plates, a few aero parts and suddenly you've got a low-level touring car like Conti or Pirelli WC TC-A/B. :D

Also,

I see two really sexy things here, but for some reason there are women in the way. STEP ASIDE, LADIES!

I was hoping I would find something new to download when I got back from the hols... Unfortunately though, I'm only at home 2 nights and I'm off again for a week.

The news I've read on the update sounds great though. Another nice touch by PD. Thanks guys.
I think this will add that extra touch of personal identification amongst us now. The only thing we would need to do is establish our unique numbers that we can race under!!!

Mine would be 79 or 23 in that order of preference. Should we try establish this for all the group?

That's awesome. I've never been to bothered about wanting a livery editor but have always wanted to just slap a number plate on a car to make it look like a proper race car. As Amar said, my first thoughts are about using parity to create something like the racing I'm watching right now. Put all the racing and aero parts on, max the power, slap a number plate on the side, tune it to a target time/speed, suddenly you have an proper series. 👍

I'll just lay claim to my 42 right now. :)

It's a pity that standard cars don't get the number treatment, but it makes sense I guess... not just because of their low-poly meshes and sometimes ancient textures, but also because the plates are individually placed for each car and that must have taken some time just to do most of the premium road cars.

I think this is the first time I've had a Serious Beef with standard cars. :indiff: Not that I was a fan, but they never really bothered me before.

I would guess the standards, being ports from previous games, are probably created in a language/format that isn't able to accept that kind of modification. Would be nice, especially since all the RUF's are standard, but it's still a very useable improvement as it is.

I claim 77, obviously. :sly:

@BrandonW77, are you going to put the final round results on the wall of champions? 👍 ;)

Also, what was the target time/speed at Laguna for Modern Murkin Muscle? Something like 1:36 and 135, or 1:35 and 136, right? I gather you'll be busy at the track (ya lucky barstahd) but I plan on doing some tweaking and tuning Saturday. :sly:

@amarynceos could you please enlighten me :sly: whats an mordern murkin muscle ?
I'm not used to such kind of slang as someone who's got his english from school 15years ago .
but It seems to be modern american muscle cars like the camaro ss or the mustang ?

I'll join your test lobby if I see you online later

Almost got tree'd by Litchi there. :D

It can be spelt variously: 'Merican, Murkin, Murrican, Merkin (huehue). In my personal experience its origin can be found in President Bush the Lesser's, ah, 'casual' approach to pronunciation, which featured prominently the frequent substitution of a slurred 'Murrica' in place of 'America.'

Why he and so many others so often insist on referring to two continents instead of the country they actually live in is, quite frankly, beyond me. :dopey: ;)

Because Murica!! (Though Merkin generally describes things more accurately. )

I'll get the results posted and try to refresh my memory on the target times. Should be on this afternoon but I see people are having problems seeing online rooms. Have you guys been able to see/join any rooms?

When I have this problem trying to join a friend, I ask him on what track he is and I use the track filter to find the room, not the "friends only" filter, and that works well 👍
