I can confirm the Formula cars has been fixed. It's not as heavy as before, but definitely more in line with the rest of the cars post-1.12. Using FFT/FFS 10/10, I'd say it's equivalent to around FFB 5 pre-1.12. The Lotus has a bit of weird weakness 45 degree to either side, but the wheel definitely has resistance and springs back to the center now. The FGT and X Standard feels good. The X2011 is now REALLY heavy !!! :D

Top job PD. Thanks for listening to us 👍  :gtpflag:THE FUN OF DRIVING IS BACK !!!!!!!

What!!!! They only adjusted a few cars?!!! C'mon PD--- we need a GLOBAL change!!

They already did the global change with the last hot fix, but it left out a handful of cars which have now been rectified with this new hot fix.

If you watch the documentary on on GT6 with the developer driving the blue corvette that made the cover-- there are clearly shots of him playing the game in a GT6 cockpit using a logitech DFGT.

I would bet 100$ they pulled that wheel off- threw on a thrustmaster and decided to change the game at that moment. D*ck move PD. I don't remember any of this BS in GT5 - in fact many racing sim review shows on YouTube said it had the best FFB of any console in the history of gaming- why change it!!!!

Have you made it round to Assetto Corsa yet? I'd be interested to see how that compares to Ferrari Challenge.:)

No, the funds for such a thing are in limbo. I'm sure AC will be better, it's been ages since I played FC but what I remember is it being incredibly heavy (which I like), I'm not sure how much fidelity/detail it had though.

I would nominate Ferrari Challenge for that title, I have yet to play a console game that had anywhere near the FFB that game had.

And I would say 60% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

I've heard Rfactor 2 has some great FFB.

And I would agree most stats are made up! But think about how long logitech has been pumping out DFGT's and G25/27's. They have been joined at the hip to gran turismo for ages now. It's safe to say the majority of wheel gamers playing GT6 are using a logitech product- which is supposed to be fully supported by GT6. I'm all for progress- but not at the expense of your largest consumer base(referring to those with a wheel).

Sure- cater GT7 to thrustmaster- they have made the public aware that logitech is not supported-but forcing this on us is bad business and has already alienated many long term fans.

I have been very vocal on this thread- more so than any other- so in an effort to reset my brain/feel of the FFB, I threw in GT5 last night. I will concede that the current FFB profile is delivering more "nuance" to the overall feel, but the lack of wheel weight makes this near impossible to enjoy because it feels so toy like without it.

rFactor wasn't a console game though.

It's been ages since I used a DFGT (early days of GT5) but my Fanatec uses the Logitech profiler (it feels pretty much exactly like my G27 did) and my wheel still has 90-95%% of the weight it had pre 1.12 but much more detail. Not sure why that would be so different than a DFGT but a wheel without weight isn't an enjoyable experience, for sure. The FFB on GT has always been rather crap though, so now it's just a different kind of crap. PD is certainly doing all it can to alienate the serious drivers and make sure future iterations of GT are only fit for the unwashed masses who have no skill.

I'm using a g27 and I have about half the wheel weight I did before the update

When your optical encoder wheel cracks I highly recommend upgrading to the Fanatec GT3 RS V2, it's a better wheel and you can add weight to it to suit your preference (though I've not had to up the weight on mine). You can also use your G27 pedals with it. 👍

I can confirm that the Lotus 97t feels much better than it did on the T300 prior to this latest fix. It brings it and the F1 car more into line with the rest of the cars I have tried, which all feel excellent at moderate settings (5/5). My G27 is taking an early retirement, although the pedals are still in use thanks to the Ricmotech adaptor. It would make sense that the T300 is possibly the predominant test wheel for these latest developments.

Is it gonna work with GT7?
Does it come in a kit form with a shifter ?
How can you add weight to it?

I don't think the current version will work with GT7, but after the travesty that was GT5/GT6 would you even want to bother with GT7? I won't be. Fanatec has just announced new product that will be compatible with the new XBone and probably soon the PS4.

You can get it as a combo with pedals (load-cell on the brake) and shifter set, for roughly the same price as a G27 (depending on where it's shipped to). Or you can just buy the wheel and use your G27 pedals, and I believe you can get an adapter for your G27 shifter to work with it.

The wheel has it's own controls baked into it and you can adjust the FFB, steering angle rotation, "drift mode", spring/damper, etc. Tinkering with the spring/damper can add more weight to the wheel, as does reducing the steering angle rotation. You can reduce your G27 to 640º steering angle which adds some weight back to it. I have my Fanatec around 700º and it feels heavier than the default 900º setting, I'm pleased with it.

I'll have to try it today. I agree with the why bother part W77. As soon as project cars come out, I am done with GT6.

I'm tired of the BS tunes with noses up in the air, etc. Tuning is a game in itself. None of it makes sense, other than in it's own right. The FFb BS and glitches galore. Time to move on soon. Sucks because idk of any legit sims that have nearly as large an online racing community.

Time for real setups and driving. Am thoroughly annoyed with setups in gt6 lately. The other is physics being different from offline to online.

So I guess that's the update, only certain cars? No global changes. Sorry to you logitech guys that are still not happy. Who knows, maybe more changes down the road. I wouldn't hold your breath.

Logitech DFGT and I'm happy :D The first changed sucked (1.12 original), made the wheel too light but I did feel more road feedback, just way too light until the feedback kicked in. I went from a 6 to 10/10 still way too light.. The 1.12 Hotfix fixed it, made the wheel super heavy at 10/10. I dropped both settings to 6/6 like I had the one setting before all the changes and it felt pretty much the same as before all the changes on 1.11, but the effects from the road feel so much better than before they started messing with it. The only problem was some cars Like the 97T, X1 Cars and KART felt too light still, like they left them out of the fix, but the 1.13 Hotfix solved that problem, now they feel like they should relative to how the other cars feel. Thank You PD!!!!!

I'm getting crazy Placebo effects too. I know its a bit in my head, but the better quality FFB I think is providing a better communication with me, this is certain, but I feel like Im able to push a little harder with a better warning of when Im about to and pass the limit. Ive knocked a few tenths off some of my fastest laps but I think I can do better when I get a better feel for the new dialect.

As a fellow logitech owner I must say I have not had the same experience. Pop in GT5 and feel what wheel weight is- then go back to GT6. It puts it into perspective

I think maybe and this is not everybody, and just a thought, It might be possible that Logitech Setting of 10 on 1.11 and equivalent in feel not setting on other wheels was simply too heavy? Ive driven many cars in this game, not the Supercars, but many of the regular cars in 19 years of driving, and on my Logitech DFGT 1.13 post Hotfix I use 6/6 because I like the weighty wheel as if Im not running any Power Steering (Because Power Steering Is Broken) but its quite a bit heavier than any of the wheels on the cars Ive driven on the streets in the game considering. 3/3 is closer to how the real cars feel on the street, but if they fix power steering 6/6 (Probably closer to 5/5) might be more real with it turned on than just using 3/3 to simulate it as it feels way too heavy to be on with 5/5. Maybe they are trying to fix power steering, (because it was messed up). I like 6/6 in the games current state because I like a heavier wheel on the Track. I understand there may be frustration if you have used the heavy wheel weight to help you drive and you will have to spend some time getting used to the bit lighter wheel weight. I feel good drivers should be good drivers on heavy and light wheels. It took about 30 min for me to get used to the 1.12 pre Hotfix FFB with what I would call zero weight and it was the worst, but after 30min I could drive just as well as 1.11, The cars still drive the same, just took a bit of getting used to. Just my 2 cents on it, it might be something is different about your Logitech wheel from mine and your not getting the wheel weight I am.

Maybe post a video of how much force you need to turn the wheel while parked with settings at 10/10. Its hard to tell if there is a problem with your wheel or if you just want crazy heavy wheel weight.

I've come to the realization that I prefer the heavier wheel weight- which has been available to the g27 in all of GT5 and up until PD ruined it. I'm actually faster with the current version of FFB, but this is supposed to be a simulator- it is still the closest were gonna get on a ps3 to that. I don't know what kinda car you drive daily but the current wheel weight is not even close to as heavy as a 2013 dodge caravan I drive for work. Prior to the change it was close. If this was marketed as a title similar to the need for speed series none of us would even be talking about it.

With that said- the physics and graphics still make this the best driving game available on this platform-- but nerf'ing the weight- and not having the option to increase it to pre update levels is the ****y part.

I think I'm gonna have to go the PC route- or just keep playing GT5. There's no way I'm gonna shell out the money for a new thrustmaster wheel/pedal/shifter setup just to get this game to feel right when I have a perfectly good setup already. Which I built a custom sim cockpit around. Switching wheels for me will involve drills/saw/paint and a load of other BS!

O well- all good things must come to an end

I don't want "crazy" heavy wheel weight. I want the perfectly reasonable amount this game was released with

How much FFB were you running pre-1.12? I ran FFB 6 pre-1.12 and although it's still lighter now with 10/10, it's good enough once you get used to it. You can also feel road imperfections a lot more. I used to run FFB 10 way back in my GT5P days, but I realized a slightly weaker FFB is the way to go if you want to be fast. I'd suggest try driving around for a month with the new FFB before dumping GT6. Even with its heavier FFB, I can't go back to GT5 anymore now because it's physics are very "stiff". The suspension and wieght transfer movements are years apart from GT6.

There was a post-1.12 Logitech FFB poll on the site last week which actually had a small majority happy with the new FFB..... https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/logitech-users-ffb-survey.317735/

My expectation is that people used to setting up PC sims with the help of clipping meters are the ones enjoying the new FFB, because it's closer to PC sim feel. People who are interested in heavy wheel weight even if it swamps the capabilities of our consumer wheels are the ones less happy since 1.12.

It must be your wheel is not getting the correct weight it should be getting. If your Caravans wheel is as heavy as 6/6 on MY DFGT then maybe your power steering is broken, needs fluid or something needs servicing.

I drive often steering with my left leg (like an idiot) and it takes no effort at all to track the car, make curves on the highway, pretty much anything but a 90 degree turn. NEVER in my life have I had a steering wheel as heavy and jerky as this current state. Even a Chevelle Malibu with no power steering at all was lighter when rolling. Ive removed the power steering motor off a few of my cars (VR6 its a HEAVY beast of a motor.) Even that car was not as heavy steering.

The only variable tossing a monkey wrench is the Power Steering, but Im sure your Caravan has power steering, so if its really as heavy as my wheel, something is wrong with your Caravan.

In pretty much 20 years of driving, street cars, track cars, to cars too ridiculous to be on the street, I have a good idea of steering wheel weight.
