[FGTA] Formula 1-SEE NEW THREAD!Finished

I'd like to do 71 laps in the Lotus on Sunday, is that possible?

I'd love to do a 40 to 71 laps in the Lotus, that would be awesome! I did a 20 minutes qualifying simulation there a couple of days ago andI burned through 4 sets of tyres OUCH... would be a real challenge to be to do a long race and go 10-15 laps without pitting... or we could do 35 laps in Lotus, 35 in FGT or something, but much rather doing a full Lotus race :)

And Mustard is right on the mustard now in terms of pace... :D

Doing any kind of distance on the rear tires would be impossible without your gears. Whichever way you look at it your going to have to manage tires (no NHRA style burnouts) in a long race but that's how real F1 is now so its somewhat interesting. Looks like Massa came up 0.5 sec short of my 85' Lotus PB, I guess he couldn't beat me with 2014 technology. Maybe in real life I could get Massa's car around the track in under 90 secs without crashing if only I could get it out of pits without stalling.

Ahhhh.... That might be a good time to have a little poke around... If I'm no good then I don't mess with anybody's season.

In my first ever season, I was regularly lapped 5 times by the lead drivers, had my fair share of getting in the way, but everyone is cool as long as you don't do anything malicious, so don't worry about it... just race at your pace and before you know it you'll become faster and faster... what I tend to do is save replays of races and look at what the lead drivers are doing with throttle control, apex speeds and to a lesser extent, the lines they use... see you later mate!

Exactly:tup:

You're not going to improve if you don't race. And as @Weider said, as long as you don't go ramming people on purpose, you're going to be fine;)

I'm pretty sure that pace over a single lap won't be an big issue, @Rich S can vouch for that back in GT5 since we've raced together. However, open-wheel racing is newer to me than street car or GT racing. Consistency and cleanliness is the thing I want to make sure I have under control before I go around with guys that have already mid-way through a season.

Man I could not keep control of the FGT today, I dont know what it is the A1 ring or the new physics but I was spinning all the time, literally spinning like a top. The car feels stable and sucks you into a comfort zone then looses all grip suddenly without force feedback. Very nasty. Like coming around in the final sector you just suddenly snap out if you even touch the kerb the wrong way very horrible. I dont imagine Sony intended on making it that hard, must be a bad side effect of their kerbstone and camber tweaking.

I was better in the Lotus with a new PB of 1:07.xx but I hope my horrible FGT pace is not a bad omen. And arty could still match me in the Lotus (I need your ideas on an even faster setup arty).

Today's Indy 500 was a complete flop, chaos and carnage on the first half, then a smooth-ish late half. Finished 12th out of 14, only because one DC'd and other had to leave.

Well that was interesting, a high 1:18 in quali then a low 1:18 in the race. I will admit though, I did run RH and I did restrict the car to 490 bhp. It's funny, I got up to 2nd in the mini race, up until lap 7 then spun it into the gravel. Aug caught up after his spin and IMMORTAL, well.... no guess as to where he was...

That looks like a Red Bull RB6?
That guy's shifts are hyper fast, I think it would take some serious slave labor training to get me shifting like that. :nervous:
Well, it's a generic 2011 F1 car painted to look like a Red Bull with the livery editor.
