[FGTA] Formula 1-SEE NEW THREAD!Finished 

Firstly, a very good win for @DrAug, @IMMORTALPILOT was definitely very fast, but it looked as though Aug just edged it here tonight. I'll have to have a look at the replays at some point to see the action unfolding all over the track.

For my first race, it was pretty quiet, I'll say...

I definitely didn't do myself any favours by binning the car on Lap 1, into turn 2, silly moo!!! I did manage to overtake @Glenalz81 (was it you? or someone else?) into T1 but I really can't remember whether that was a case of you trying a move on me or vice versa, I'll have to have another look.

To be honest though, I didn't have any real noteworthy battles per se, although I'm pretty sure @Mini Stiggy and @Rich S were swapping around with me for 4th during pitstops. I'm happy with 5th mind, with a calmer stint and more care with how close I was getting to the walls, may have gotten more out of my tyres and had fewer stops.

Rich, what happened on that lap you caught up to me? I wasn't sure whether you locked up to avoid ramming me, but I saw you take a nasty turn into the wall. I'm sorry if that was my fault. :/

I dont even remember that crash, I only remember the ones where I spun in front of you/stiggy twice on laps 30/32. Sorry about that, I should have learned after the lap 30 crash. :lol:

D'ya know... I almost closed my eyes when I came towards you, it was in that narrow section wasn't it?

OH SNAP!!! I just remembered, I nearly tanked the car into one of the cars that finished on my final lap. I'd just, JUST looked up from the tachometer to see Aug and IP moving slowly where they'd finished the race.
 
What can I say? This was the best race in a good while!

Started off with @Rich S slowing down after T1, which caused a confusion and allowed me to slip past everyone and get 3rd. It stayed like that for most of the race, until I had to pit on lap 13, allowing @Mini Stiggy to go by. I get 3rd from him a lap later when he stops and go on until lap 26, when I spin at T1 after spotting @Glenalz81 spun out on the line, accidentally trail-braking into the corner, and pit at the end of the lap just as Joe passed by me. I then drive like a man possessed trying to gain time on Joe and pass him back at lap 29, putting my PB lap time in the process. Then it's cruising till lap 39, when I switch to RMs. I set off like a maniac again in order to secure a podium finish. Helped by Joe's tyre-saving, I pass him on the very last lap, and get the 3rd place that @Revoy owed me. :D

This is only played when a Brazilian wins a race, but I feel like a winner so I'll link it anyway. :)
 
guys , i truly enjoyed the races yesterday .
my best stint was the 3rd one , where i closed 8 or 9 laps in the same hundreds of a second , also , wow , the damage , the 1st one was nasty as it was my left rear wheel .
then i have to admit i get lucky , as ip did a few mistakes... but for once it's not me that does mistakes i won't complain :) i feel like i wrote something but not totally english ^^
looking forward to the next race (a shame it's not on 8th , it's my birthday) :D

it's sad that arty had to miss the race due to his ps3..

Yeah it's too bad I wasn't up there I thought immortal's race was a touch off what he normally does probably because of his lack of warm up. Once in a blue moon I can pull a shocker and get within a mile of him at the end. :lol: But that's why you have to keep trying Aug, because you can take advantage.

Sorry to sick assasin about the race colision, I know you didn't need me there after your first engine damage hit! If its any consolation my fate wasn't any better.

p.s. I've got a spare PS3 out of the attic but the blu-ray doesn't work on it so I just bought the Digital Download, will it work guys? Is Digital Download any good compared to the Disc? And can I run it on multiple PS3s? Or is it only allowed to be on one PS3?

You should be able to use it on multiple consoles, but one of them will have to use the disc due to that thing that limits PSN accounts to only 2 consoles.

Plus, I can export my replay copy to you if you'd like.
 
Well its Tour de France fever in England I guess, sounded like the crowds at the finish and starts are making more noise than the F1s make these days. :lol: I'd like to get on PSN and do some GP2 practice but I doubt I'll find the time today, the weathers been great here though for cycling and I've gotta run some errands too.

Maybe sometime this week some mega practice on GP2 specs, seriously I cant afford another bad race here or my championship hopes dwindle dramatically after last weeks trainwreck.

I've not been online for a while because of my internet. Not that I didn't have any, but I kind of splashed 300 of the 500 MB I had to last me two weeks in about an hour :/ I now have 35MB with 6 days to go. Expect me online Saturday, where I'll be practicing like mad for Nurburgring...

Of those of you who didn't, @SF_Alonso, @peiratis1976 and @swiftsmith didn't notify me. @peiratis1976 and @SF_Alonso have been moved to the reserve driver list due to inactivity. @swiftsmith, if I do not hear from you by next race, you will be moved to the reserve list as well. Attention all:

Due to the World Cup final tonight, the start of qualifying, and the start of the race will be delayed 30 minutes. Qualifying will also be 15 min, instead of the usual 20. If needed, the race may be shortened to 30 laps, but I'm hopping that won't have to happen. Weather is looking like it's going to be overcast.

Well, I may not finish the race tonight. My girlfriend is working a later shift than usual, but from what she said, she'll most likely be getting out of work earlier than what she's expected to. I'm not sure whether you want me to leave or just sit in the lobby. I'm pretty sure the timer on saving the replay will expire by the time I get back too, so I won't have a replay to fall back on if it's needed...
 
Try not to leave unless you have to. Mainly because I don't want the chat box coming up in the middle of the race.
