Normally post my race report soon after the race, but I had to watch the replay again to get an idea of what when on  The first 30 or so minutes was pretty crazy with a lot of changes of lead caused by mistakes and strategy calls, I was driving down Mulsanne thinking that this was going to be an epic race because I was expecting the track to dry up, so the call from wets to inters or drys would've been really interesting. Sadly the rain just continued to pour down and ruined that, from practicing the drying track a few times I have to say that it was a lot more fun than 100% rain throughout. Feels more realistic as well, and once night fell became some of the hardest conditions you could possibly race in which was challenging but not a lot of fun. I wanted to see the fireworks! lol

My setup as a result was tailored more to a drying track so my full wet pace wasn't great, but I knew that I had to push early in the first few laps to have a bit of flexibility when pitting to softs. I was able to pass Agro pretty quickly and from then on build a lead as 3-4 cars battled behind which looked epic. Kossu had an amazing start! Then GV took over and put a fair amount of pressure on me as the track was getting wetter on inters, but I tried to stay focussed and not make any mistakes. I made a small one in the last sector and ran wide, was lucky to keep it out of the wall but I lost the lead at that point lap 3-4 i think. Then GV ran really wide the following lap and went into the gravel which gave me the lead back. I had to take avoiding action though as GV rejoined the track as I was taking the corner causing me to swerve to avoid, think there's a rule saying that you're supposed to wait but since it was your first race I didn't want to report it. Just watch out in the future mate!

That gave me the lead back though and when the surface water reached 80% I knew that I had to pit for full wets as there were no breaks in the cloud, so seemed like a safe bet. Behind me though Agro had a massive moment in the porsche curves and hit the wall, and GV subsequently hit him also. Nothing either could do imo, racing incident but I was able to stretch my lead. SRT however stayed out because he started on wets, so he took the lead and Logic and Vic also jumped me in the pit. Fortunately I was able to get past pretty quickly and not make mistakes, I was pushing pretty hard at that point to stretch it and make my life easier later on. Agro and GV also made mistakes behind me which allowed me to build a massive lead and they pitted due to damage. I knew from there that I had probably the race in the bag because by my fuel calculations Agro would need to stop again so I always had a pit stop advantage on him by the end of the race. So I took it easy for the last 30-40 mins lapping 31's but Agro behind was lapping 27's-28's pushing really hard to close the gap. At that point I had to make a decision to either push myself or play it safe, I decided to play it safe but when thinking about it I spun and lost 10-15s to him, which brought Agro into play a bit.

So I made my final stop for fuel and Agro jumped me in the pit after my mistake, but I had to remain confident that he would have to pit again. He had other ideas though and started to fuel save big time on the last couple of laps lol which allowed me to get to within 1-2s at Porsche curves at the last lap, when his tank was on empty just about. I saw him slowing and pressed on the gas too hard which sent me into a sideways drift, pretty close! but I managed to catch it and get right up to the back of Agro. But the line was so tight at the last corners that I couldn't overtake, and Agro slowed down insanely quickly so I had to take to the run off to avoid hitting him lol which gave me a tense penalty. But on the final run to the line, Agro had no power so I was able to overtake there and take the win. Pretty exciting race I'd say  I really don't know how Agro managed to save so much fuel, was so close but it was brave to start the final lap when the fuel warning light was on! Fair play to you for that man, was worth a shot!

Looking forward to the next one though Tokyo could be a tough one on tyres :/

EDIT - I also have to thank @azidahaka for letting me by so quickly on the final lap on blue flags, if you hadn't I might've not managed to make the overtake at the end so thanks for that mate, was important!

IMPORTANT NEWS

On Friday night at our usual series time i will be hosting a race.

There will be prizes, i have psn messaged you all so please look.

The race will be in the format of the newe sries that will start after this deries ends in May.

For the race to go ahead on Friday i need a minimum of 10 drivers signed up.

You will need to have a LEXUS LF-LC_GT VISION painted and numbered in your current gt300 series setup.

Qualy and race will take place at our usual Monday times of Q 18:15uk and R 19:00 uk

The Q will be run in a room that will be the same room that runs the race, so no switching rooms.
after qualy, let the race start and quit out, then i will reset the room to practice race and will call cars out in the normal manner, the room should be more stable the longer we are all in it.

Also the Lexus LF LC has no detailed interior so there is much more bandwidth and space on the server and that helps with lag and Dcs.

The race will be normal 90 minute race.

The care will all be run in default settings for this test with only abs allowed.

There will be a mandatory tyre change rule in the race.

For the sake of fairness we will run it using the championship standings as they are now, with the0 only exception
the Gv our new guy, is moved up to 5th as he is clearly a top driver.

In this respect the top 5 championship standings cars will qualify and start the race as follows.
positions 1 - 5 RACE HARD TYRES
positions 6 - 10 RACE MEDIUM OR LESS
positions 11 down SOFT OR LESS

BHP for each car will be as follows and is either added or deducted for however many points
you are in the standings above or below 8th position known as base BHP

Friday is one of GF's days, so i can't be there, @Stephen Vann ... Doesn't seems my cup of tea as a serie but i'll look into it.

Not going to test for it, i have already this serie i'm sucking on, no reason to start sucking in a future one at the same time :D Also i couldn't turn a single lap at Tokyo yet...

If someone gives out a target fast time i would appreciate and get the most of the training time i'll have. I always end up training alone, good old @Pubs16 is never around for it or helping with setups (that honestly i should be the one better at and providing the team lol), coupling with the results since race 1 made me a little demotivated. So please, a time target to aim to would be of help.

@xChris93_ it was a tough thing to do, i'll be honest... I was behind kossu at the time, and knew he had to stop so even a few seconds could have made a difference. All turned for the best for you, not for Agro lol

Yo, ease up...

On topic of the new series @Stephen Vann sounds mega fun and I love the new Lexus VGT. But that's Saturday mornings for me and I have work unfortunately.

Karsten all you need is a viline playing in back ground as you tell your story was you like when you used two race lol lol lol just saying translation.

Any practice room open for gt300 tokyo?
im at work at the moment, but you can go in the community lobby and set one up yourself if you wish.

Vic was in there earlier testing the LEXUS LF-LC_GT VISION for or Fridays test race.

I will be on tonight after 6pm tonight testing gt300 and Lf lc

New series looks great Logic and in my opinion should be a much closer championship than the current one. In it's default setup the car handles brilliantly/easy to drive and the KERS buttons adds an extra variable to the race. Also the power success penalty seems to work really well as yesterday at base settings my best time was a 1:31 but at my penalty spec I managed a low 33. Car sounds and looks really cool as well which is a bonus :) I reckon you should give it a shot @azidahaka , I think you'll love it mate! Tyre strategy also mixes the field up nicely too and will let a lot of different drivers fight for the win each race. I don't mind that because it ensures that everyone has a chance and people closest in the championship will be fighting together and tuning doesn't play a part in the final result.

I'll certainly look at it, but i think i do not have what it takes for driving cars this fast... These 500hps cars are the fastest i ever drove on a serie on gtp and this is clearly my weakest season ever, even considering the BTCC ones.

The most hps cars i feel i can more or less manage are GT3s, probably because being heavier and with less DF and they drive more slowly :D

BTW i'll need to find how to assign a button that i can reach for kers then lol. But for now i want to try and get a hold of myself and see if i can get at least a good race by season's end in this GT300 season. That is what i wish to accomplish for now. One good race, no more lol

the lexus for the race friday , is that beeing run in stock settings ? and the 1 i won i cant change drivernumber on , shall i bye a new one too change the number ?

Yes ideally if you cant change the number you will have to buy a new one or the series, but for Friday you can use any numberi guess.

So if i understand correctly i have been punted up to the fifth place in the overall championship?

You are 5th in the standings for the test race - reflecting your high skill level.

ALso let me know the team name for you and SRT ?

As much as I'd like to participate in the LEXUS VGT race, I can't, I already have things to do that day. It's a pitty as I think the regs and the penalties would bring a lot more competitivity. Also I really like the car a lot, have a good race everyone and hopefully I'll be back next monday.
