Race Report
Qaulied 2nd 6/10ths behind Immortal who was using Pagey's setup despite not being teammates.
On the first corner immortal and I were both swamped by a group of cars in a rush for the 2nd turn. Several of these proceeded to spin on the first sector, one of them started to spin right in front of me and I tagged him after he'd started to slide, couldn't avoid it. After he went Smithaz went and then it was me and Spurgey, with rhys & Immortal up in there too.
As the race progressed it looked like I would hang on for a nice win; but the last stint I changed onto mediums & there was suddenly no grip. I made a huge mistake on the final sector, nearly smacking the pit wall head on but recovered to be passed by immortal whom I never fully caught. I made several blunders on the medium tires, although I think I could have caught him without any mistakes. Medium tires at the cape are real poopers, their horrible through several of the turns. I sure hope rhys changed onto the mediums this week to experience the joy of power sliding.
Just kidding rhy, I know you would never do that (stay on softs.)On the last lap I made another blunder (my 4th mistake on the last stint) that cost me the race. I went from 1.5 secs back to 3.0s. Then in the final sector closed it down to 1.1s. So I could have made it back to him on the last lap but fate showed me to be making too many errors. These FGTs are completely insane.
I'm nervous about all the disconnects. So far I've never had a dissconnect in a league race, but thats like saying so far I've not had a flat tire yet in a race, bad omen. One thing I noticed was the quality of the room was much higher, with no frame rate loss.

glad to see my tune served you well.....kind of embarrassing for me seeing as i came 5th and he won but hey ho
Quali was an absolute disaster, i was on for a okay lap and spun on the last corner
i had completely lost the swing of things and span again.
So i started back in 9th. My start was good, i went from 9th to 5th and only 8 seconds or so behind the leaders and i was catching fast even on mediums......and then i spun.
I was panicking at this point as i knew i had to beat Brett to keep my championship hopes alive.
I spun a few more times and was around 15 seconds behind brett i think.
I had opted for a 3 stopper and came in on lap 9. I was by myself for the whole race pretty much which is bad for me. I only seem to be on form when chasing someone in sight or in the lead. So the mistakes crept back in. When the car was pointing the right way i was catching the leaders comfortably but i span a few more times i think and was a full minute behind the leaders
I said my goodbyes to the championship there and then as Brett was wayyyy ahead of me.
I came in again on lap 18 and i made a fair bit of ground on Brett as he was on old tyres due to a 2 stop strategy. Hope began to take hold.
But the i had the worst 5 laps of my race. I didnt have one lap under 1.50s and 2 laps of 1.58 due to mistakes. My tyres were shot and my mood was bad.
I came in lap 28 for the last time, I didnt know how far Brett was ahead so i just went for it. Despite clipping a spinning Pigboy i made a lot of ground. And it looked like he got held up by a back marker and he was in sight. I passed him fairly easily and cruised in for 5th place.
A very frustrating race yet again, i got the fastest lap, 1.45.4 and i knew i was one of if not the fastest car on track when i wasnt spinning. I can never pull it together on race day though. Its been like this all season, I have won 2 but that could easily have been more as i have the pace.....it frustrates me

Yes i drive the next sasion.
it was really hard race.
my best time was only 1,46,20 because i have try to drive not to hard with the tyres.
it was much bether tyre wear then.

That was your only obvious mistake, you save tyres by stopping load and spin, backing off will not always achieve this because of the downforce and the fact that the car is probably set up to turn well under acceleration. I save tyres by accelerating smoothly and only change my style on tight corners not fast ones.
