I agree it will spice things up :)

The update is sick, now when driving a car the camera tilts with the suspension, so it doesn't stay still. When your turning a corner the camera tilts, its awesome (on full car view)

Purple Alert, Purple Alert

For any current competitors-If you are staying with us for season 3 you MUST sign up by 01/01/12 because thats the date I go to the public, I have had 3 reqests already but am holding off until the new year. If you want in let me know and then we can start talking teams :D
 
How many people are signed up for next season now? cant imagine theres too many spaces left anyway. And I tested hard tyres today round monaco and they were only a second a lap slower than softs, and the softs were about a second faster than they were before, havent tested the mediums properly yet, but I would imagine theyll be about .5 slower which will make the tyres choices interesting :D
 
We have 3 regular and 2 reserve spots open so far, I have 3 outsiders interested and 1 regular checking work commitments and getting back to me so we are almost full :)

Did you get any tyre wear data?
 
Havent done any tyre wear tests yet, but by the end of that 10 laps race we did my hard tyres were shot, doing some more tests now. :)
 
Just got my muff cut. Finished the Christmas cake, mince pies tomorrow!

New update is sweet, I love the sound of the wind when your in (bonnet view).

I'm really up for some mixed racing and maybe some dirty NASCAR and maybe some dirty shuffle races tonight and tomorrow maybe?

Sounds good, I will be FGTC practice 1645-1800, Touring cars 18-1900 then up for mixed/shuffle/wacky racing till late if y'all up for it 👍

MESSAGE TO ALL SEASON 3 COMPETITORS
I need everyone to name 4 people they would like to be team mates with next season, if you dont care just put 'I dont care' and you will be parnered up with someone. You also need to tell me which colour FGT's you have. Please list all eligible cars in your posession (purple/white and yellow dont count)

As an example I will start-

FGT's. blue/orange/red/silver/green+white/orange+white/blue+white/white

Team mates. Sandman/Pagey/Sakery/Pigboy


Remember you can use the refresh cards to set any FGT to its new condition and I look forward to hearing your choices for the coming season :D

I know I've not raced with you guys since the pre-season classic race, but I thought I'd give you a heads up on what I've found out about the new tyre wear so far. My test was done with a 502BHP NASCAR at Indy speedway. I found that racing hard tyres wore about 9% quicker than before (35 laps vs 38 laps), and that racing softs wore out 50% quicker than before (19 laps vs 38 laps). Haven't tested racing mediums, but they'll probably be right in the middle at about 30% quicker wear than before.

I used NASCAR because that's the only series I'm currently racing in.

I only have the blue/white car at the moment. :sly: I'll work on getting some new ones.

What's it like on circuits? I'd have presumed the % figures still carry over (don't forget they are % compared to the old racing hard tyres).
 
Rich- Cheers, let me know when you get another FGT (you kinda have to have 2 so your not reserving your team).

Joe- All tyres have more grip than their pre update counterparts and last the same amount of time as each other still. :(

Well that's odd.:dunce:I was setting the exact same times on racing hards both pre and post update, and the different tyres were definitely wearing out at different rates. The only differences I've noticed are the wear rates compared to before, as it seems every tyre compound has been adjusted. (again, all this is at Indy oval, where more grip = better lap times. If tyres had more grip than before the update, I'd have been lapping quicker on the hard tyres).

EDIT: Maybe it could be to do with the fact that you guys use skid recovery? <___> That's all I can think of. If not, I'm out of ideas.
 
It is VERY odd, I dont doubt your findings but I am nearly 2 seconds quicker at Monaco in my FGT than I was yesterday and can run a significant amount of extra laps. That coupled with update 2 (all of season 1 records have fallen) and I am mildly miffed sir! Could be the skid recovery thing.

Ellis- How about you name your team preference/cars you burke!

2 regular and 2 reserves left for S3!

I'll try the new tire modeling out. Berty, what do you mean by not reserving my team? I can buy more cars any time?
 
Rich- Basically, we demand that people have 3 eligible cars for the beggining of the season to give me team options. Or else someone could just say "I only have the Lotus and so does my best friend" therefore forcing me to allow them to be team mates. So everyone has to provide options for the new season. Let us know how you get on with the tyres 👍

Excellent Spurgey, thank you. Please let me know which other cars you get and avoid yellow and purple/white.

I won't be taking part in the season 3 FGT as I have been thinking of letting you youngsters carry on..... Thanks for letting me race with you and have enjoyed it.... I shall join in with you when you are practicing sometimes and have a run round the tracks.. again thank you
 
Well I already have purple/white so might be a bit difficult to avoid that one :D but ill keep looking, might do what I did with the touring cars.
